I know this is an old video but I just wanted to say thank you. I’ve been trying to fix my girlfriend’s car all day, almost started to think of bigger issues when I just stumbled across this video. While watching I remembered, thinking her positive post seemed a little bit looser than on my car when trying to jump it. Sure enough it’s exactly as you described. Thank you 🙏🏼
Well, I didn't need to dremel anything out, but the video did give me a suspicion to try pressing down harder before tightening and that did the trick. So thumbs up, and thank you.
I did one easier just buy a battery terminal “shim” is the key word goes directly over the terminal post and slide the same piece right on yes it takes a little bit of tapping to place it down but it’s super easy
Im having a similar issue. However the terminal/battery have never been touched or replaced. There is zero corrosion, has the connector to the terminal stretched?

my plastic part wiggles alittle but the terminal is snug to the post.So my terminal is tight to the post no wiggle just the plastic part wiggles cause it sits up a little, but all my contact is good and tight
Great job Oz Mechanics. Just saved me a huge headache on a 2015 Kia forte. Been struggling with battery issues on my friends Kia. She even got the battery replaced but it never solved the issue. Thanks a ton 🙏🫡
Nice! Did you see the link to the euro plate website I posted? Might be in the UA-cam spam folder on your comments page. It'll be cheaper to buy from a US site than have my sister make & send one.
That's what I was wondering. Other than just covering everything up and making it look pretty, what's it's purpose? Seems you could go without it and save yourself a lot of trouble.
Where's the footage of you putting a caliper on the plastic shoulder at the base of the battery post and showing the camera the numbers on the caliper, and where's the footage of you showing the plastic housing (IN FOCUS) as you show which pieces of plastic are in conflict, and by how much? Where's the footage of you putting a mark on the plastic to show how much you intend to remove, and the attempts to grind close to the mark?
I hate this design. I just made a little shim but because I thought the problem was with the metal but next time I change the battery I’ll just throw the plastic away.

Who knew that a battery terminal could be so complicated.
Nice tip! I've seen that same issue on some of the newer Chevy's.

A simple job done by an untrained person can leave you stranded. Attention to detail. Nice fix
Good deal Oz! Thumbs up!

Do you even need the plastic part
