I took my Dremel and in 30 seconds the iron thing of my former Q handgrip was removed for use on my new Q2. Easy and effective!
Excellent workaround. I am not good with real world tools :) I am good on laptops, screwdrivers, CPUs, programming & source code, etc. So your advantage saved you quite some money, well done :)
How is the high iso handling on your q2 compared to q
I’m expecting delivery of my Q2 this week. Wish I’d seen this earlier…I could’ve included the grip in my order. Thanks for such thorough and educational videos!
Buy an Arte Di Mano case and a thumbs up grip and you'll be more than good to go! Amazing grip, acces to battery and SD card and still super compact
I filed the location stud down on the Q handgrip and it now fits my Q2 perfectly. Simples!
I did the same, took me 5 minutes. Saved a lot of money!
How is the high iso handling on your q2 compared to q?
@@BombayDroneCompany I've notice no difference in the ISO.
What do you have to say about all those reviews saying high iso performance of Q2 is lower compared to Q
I am getting 2600$ deal for used minty condition leIca Q in June 2020?
I like Leica camera but one thing that pisses me off is the grip. If Leica knows that the camera without the hand grip is difficult to hold and they have to make a hand grip for it, so why don't they make the Leica with hand grip like the rest of the world? They sell expensive camera and still want to rip people off with extra stuff like hand grip, that is ridiculous.
Hi, so is the Q and Q2 with protected on, there is no need for the hand grip, right? You did try to have both on with the grip outside the protector. So I am thinking surely there must be a third party that does a protector which will hold the camera with the grip attached inside it? Bit of a pain trying to swap one for the other !!
P.s. I have read this week that the Q2 has problems with RAW files when used in “continuous super speed” drive mode @ 20 ps shooting, have you come across this problem yourself?
Thanks for your videos really enjoy them.
Hey, cool video! Quick question: does the Q2 handgrip work with the Q?
I'm considering a handgrip for my Q2 Reporter. But, will this impact the kevlar finish?
Great video and attention to details - very much appreciated
Hi, thanks for the interesting videos :) I just wondered which screen protectors you are using on your cameras? I have the Leica one for my Q2, but it attracts a lot of fingerprints and I like the look of the more matt finish protectors you are using. Many thanks.
Thanks for this detailed sharing so that we know 😊
Hi nice video! Which do you recommend as my first Leica. The Q1 or the Q2?
Definitely the Q2 for its MP, battery and continuous shooting mode removed from power on switch.
The Q is still a phantastic camera and gets sold for app. 2500€ - a bargain! The Q2 has a better battery and is waterproof, definitely improvements - the 47 MP sensor is much bigger nice but do you really need it?
How you like the handgrip on Q2 so far? Have you ever tried to use thumbgrip as well to compare with handgrip?
I always have the handgrip on, I actually need it for a safe grip. I do not need or use the thumbgrip, find it kind of inconvenient.
Are the handgrips shaped differently ? I loved the handgrip on the Q but in my opinion the one of the Q2 seems to have a steeper angle and it was unusable for me. Unfortunately I can not compare it directly because I sold the Q
Question, the Q(1) protecter case for the Q2, does the opening allow for battery change?
On my Q2 hand grip, I wonder why the top portion is tapered and doesn't sit flush. Any thoughts?
They should ad a bit of a grip to the Q2 protector so you just use that!
Thanks
Why didn’t Leica make the grip into the camera?? I love mine but dang. It costs enough for sure
Yes - a better grip from scratch would improve the camera, spot-on.
I like my Q2 the way it was designed...and find no need to modify the grip.
How is the leather protector case? Does it make it feel bulky?
Not at all, touch and feel is good
How is video stabilization?
Thank you. What is the price you paid for the Q2 handgrip, please?
www.leicacamerausa.com/thumb-support-black-q2.html
about $125USD...
Little less than 130 CHF - which is about 130 USD.
By the way does the Q2 hand grip fit perfectly on the Q?
I wondered the same thing, then you buy the Q2 grip instead
Why they don't allow battery and SD access in a grip is beyond me..... such a design flaw
Yes, I agree. I bought a RRS (Really Right Stuff) grip instead for $200.00. It allows access to battery and card without removing the grip. It's sold on the RRS site or B&H Photo Video. It fits both Q2 and Q. It also has Arca type attachments.
Jubilee bracelet. Nice taste.
I think by biggest issue with the Q2 is the absence of built-in handgrip. It's not that I mind paying for an extra accessory (I do, but it's not the end of the world), but a separated handgrip is really not an ideal solution. The camera feels clearly better in the hand with it, but you have to unscrew it every time you want to access the battery or the memory card, and you cannot use the protector at the same time as the handgrip. So it ends up creating more problems than it solves. A bit frustrating for such a high quality camera.
I used the Q for many years always with handgrip - now the Q2 without and it is perfectly fine too
nice job!
Thanks!
Nice GMT!
I love it, agree
Nice pepsi 😉
The Q2 handgrip is made in China.
