- CNN's Larry King interviews David Letterman on May 23, 1996. This video picks up about 1 minute into the show. Here's the dialogue you missed:
ANNOUNCER: From New York, we've named a pigeon after you. It's the Late Show with David Letterman.
KING: Wait a minute. It's not that late, but we do have the star of the Late Show. Yes, David Letterman is ahead on Larry
King Live.
ANNOUNCER: Now live from New York, here's Larry King.
KING: He's here, folks.
LETTERMAN: One of those legendary Larry King fits. You get to see it here live.
KING: I don't get fits. Okay, this is our Superweek. We had the 60 Minutes crew last night, Hillary Clinton on Monday night, Friday night Barbara Walters, Saturday night Reverend Graham.
LETTERMAN: How do I fit into Superweek exactly?
KING: You are a Superstar.
LETTERMAN: God bless you, Larry.
KING: We have declared you a Superstar.
LETTERMAN: Thank you. I appreciate that.
KING: And you are the most --
LETTERMAN: It's a good thing we're not under oath here right now.
KING: You are the most --
LETTERMAN: I am. I happen to be the most powerful man in American broadcasting.
KING: And you deserve it.
LETTERMAN: Thank you very much, Larry.
KING: The accolades that come your way.
LETTERMAN: Thank you, Larry.
KING: Now I'm ticked.
LETTERMAN: What's the matter?
great interview, rip larry
Damn, Dave was really on fire in this
5:55 "how many times yer nurse walked in on you doing that!" LOL!!!
dave was the best
22:55 - someone needs to sample and meme this
He's adorable.
Dave still had energy....and liked Larry until after this Broadcast when some unflattering things were said about Tom Snyder and the "Late Late Show" and were later allegedly taken out of context.
4:29 Oh Dave, you just had to 'forget' the first name of your American President.
Boy is Dave is a difficult guest.
David here is top form . It’s good to brag when the art form allows. When you think your hot and your not it’s really obtuse. I have seen Letterman when he’s ‘off ‘ too . It’s like warm flat pop. No good .
A month and 6 days before my birth
Jack Ripper no one gives a fuck, man **
+Jack Ripper 16 years 7 months and 9 days after mine (all kidding aside, the 90's was a wonderful time to be a teenager).
+gfalcon 35 years 9 months and 29 days after mine (the 70's weren't a bad time to be a teenager also)
2 years 11 months before my birth, and the 2010s were a fine time to be a teenager.
Dave is arrogant.
Hahaha
he could justify it back then
Dave is brilliant
Man Dave was sharp.
"Who plays the wife?" - Larry's bothered.

I'd like to see footage of Dave hosting that midnight movie show.
I had the Mickey Mouse stuffed animal. XD
Dave probably had many women interns running from the show. I would have to say their was probably some hush up money for them on the way out the door.
Yes, this is exactly what happened. The last one was Stephanie Birkett, she was the only one Dave admitted to but his staff hinted there were many others. Plus he used to have a staff member arrange/pay for his many visits with high class prostitutes.
That woman was from Switzerland. You can't fake that accent and attitude, they were wrong and it must have been frustrating for her them not believing.
I never could understand why NBC was so eager to push this arrogant snot onto the public.
Huh? You're too sensitive
