Hello my loyal subscribers, As I mention near the end, foodbanks are sadly becoming a bigger part of society in the UK, so please consider donating food, time, or money to one near you. Search for your nearest Foodbank here: www.trusselltrust.org/get-help/find-a-foodbank/ I donated £400 to the Wandsworth Foodbank (please don't assume by my association with big youtubers that I also have millions lol)
Mad respect Ciaran for the spotlight on foodbanks, You legit made my day with that. As someone that struggles to live day to day on the government assistance money I get for being disabled I know how hard it can be. Mate I'm so glad that I've been a subscriber of yours for a while now!

You have to apply online, we got a £200 supermarket voucher but it is all down to local councils. Thank you for this mate, as someone who is struggling alone with my son these things are important, there have been times we needed to food bank. Life is not easy right now, I appreciate being seen bud xx
Good choice on the John Lewis cake Ciarán, it’s the one I usually go for. Sadly my John Lewis app has given me a free coffee and *bowl of soup* voucher!! It’s been 30°C, I’m not in the mood.
Its so true and I appreacite you speaking about it as a mum of two serveerly disabled children it's not possible for me to physically afford what I need to anymore and it's driving me insane accumulating debt when I've always been so good with money
If you like water, should have just taken a bottle with you, free water refills in a lot of places in London as part of a scheme - I believe a lot of Gregg's do them with a tap in the store you can just use.
Thanks for making a fun video, but still highlighting the absolute poverty some people are finding themselves in now more than ever. It's awful that we as a nation are in this position, but helping each other with advice, food and plain old love and humanity is essential.
I calculated my mortgage and bills/council tax after watching this video. It turns out to live, drink water out of the tap and turn on the lights. It costs me roughly £52 a day on average. This is before I eat anything... Bit of an eye opener. No wonder I am always skint!
to be fair those own brand cheapy pizzas are so good especially considering the price. Morrisons own brand pizza is the only pizza we get in our house, just because its the pizza we like best 🤷♀
yes lad, someone who also appreciates the Clover! edit: I bought that ASDA 32p garlic bread a few times in my first year of uni last year, it genuinely tastes really good
Great video! Why didn’t you just eat the whole garlic bread to increase your calorie intake though? 😂 or did someone you live with con you out of the other half
The tories need to sort inflation out!! Asda have always done “essentials”!! In my day it was smart price. Fair play to the Asda marketing team!! #ASDA #forthewin
Ciaran, I would be interested to see if you're willing to have a go at the current Labour government to the same extent? Because of Labour my Grandad, who was diagnosed with blood and bone cancer last year has lost the meagre heating allowance he relied on for years. He paid taxes for 62 years (he only retired at 78 because of the cancers) and has never had a god damn thing off the government in all that time. Yet they take away his heating allowance. Thanks Starmer! Not to mention they refuse to guarantee keeping the triple lock on pensions. Both things that the Conservative government helped my grandad with. They haven't even been in power for half a year and they have already fucked millions of people over. Good going! Don't make the mistake of thinking that this incarnation of Labour is "for the working man" because it isn't. Don't worry, I'm not saying the Tories were, either. It's just very tiring hearing people criticise one side when the other is doing equally/worse shit. Other than that, really enjoy your content!
Oh yeah, under the Tories, he had been approved for central heating which he was granted (all paid for by the council), and was on course to receive a grant for a stair lift and "wet room" bathroom due to his worsening mobility... that is until Labour won the election and then they magically changed their mind. Funny that, isn't it lol
Well. I hope you feel rotten. You've seriously injured my mom; the word Moist gives her trauma. She won't talk of it; none of us know why; but we weren't allowed Mac and cheese. I suspect she was done wrong by some moist Mac.
Ciaran stop using margarine or check the ingredients to see if it has palm oil, if it does its very bad for the environment because palm oil is farmed on big plantations that they cut down rainforest area to build
When UA-camrs think they have a say about political stuff, when the whole of parliament is in recess. Labour MP’s are also on holiday. Also this is world wide… due to a pandemic and the Ukraine war. Just like how Labour blamed their bankrupting of the country on the world wide recession.
Sooooo the challenge wasn't 'live off a quid for a day'.... it was 'eat for a quid for a day'... cos apart from biking to get food....you did nothing?!? (But I really appreciate the end bit about how hard it REALLY is)

Amazing considering, like u said, ur not making millions from youtube
I have so much respect for you highlighting this issue, well in you legend
That’s very kind of you!
They are sadly, but due in part to people who don't NEED them using them and leaving less for the truly in need.
Brings back memories of when Alfie Deyes tried to live off 350 quid in 24 hours
It’s tough but I reckon I could do it
I live off that a month lol
@@charleszinkey That's the joke

Ciaran achieved what Alfie Deyes wishes he could achieve... a self aware, helpful, successful £1 challenge
Ciarán may have the taste buds of a toddler, but he is a top class act with the message at the end
The only Pouch ad that's made me download it
tbf mate well said
Your reaction to the Asda pizza is IDENTICAL to my first thoughts, for that value you get a pretty decent cheap frozen snack!!
Would have been unreal whilst as uni, I did used to get those teeny tiny pizzas for like 50p hahaha top tier those
@@ciarancarlin Those ARE top tier, those smartprice ones you got like 12 in a pack

That pizza looks exactly like what they served at my school. Always look forward to your videos!
it was weirdly cathartic to see you enjoying some food at the end there instead of throwing up immediately lmao
If you like water, should have just taken a bottle with you, free water refills in a lot of places in London as part of a scheme - I believe a lot of Gregg's do them with a tap in the store you can just use.
I saw a free refill thing in M&S and realised the mistake I’d made in not bring a bottle.
This is unironically helpful for me because we're struggling massively so knowing you can get food for less than a pound is really helpful.
fuck it I'm heading to Asda
Outdoor gyms are pretty cool, means you can avoid the gym and the creatures that inhabit it. A lot of parks have them these days which is pretty cool!
Gonna go to Asda and spend 85p on a bag of nuggets now cheers
At least ciarán is gonna actually do it

With money back and coupons, could you do this challenge without spending nothing?
I was gutted I couldn’t find something free for dinner, but it was 30 degrees and I usually eat quite a lot so I went for the pizza hahaha
