i wish all these new devs would focus on sims 2 rather than sims 4 when trying to copy what works, i feel like they all miss the point of what makes a sims game good, but maybe i'm old and out of touch now and all the young players desire these multiplayer games that limit your creativity and freedom in the world. Never heard of this one before and it looks nice, but im not optimistic about any of the upcoming life sims, more competition is always good though, and maybe some of these tiny teams will surprise us with a good finished product
That's why I'm the most excited for paralives. I don't have any interest in Inzoi, and I'm unsold on life by you. But paralives seems like it will have the nbhd flexibility of the sims 2, where you can set your own lots down anywhere and any size.
@@tikusblue i'm not following paralives too closely as of late, but i felt they were promising too much that they might not be able to accomplish, given the small team and how hard it is for a tiny indie studio to get experienced devs. I'm still hopeful and will probably give them all a go. I'm worried about the para animations because of the complexity of the environment, like the freedom in customization is amazing but getting the animations to work for all that is going to be hard, same for the variation in heights, which is something none of the sims games even did because then you have to make sure the animations are adjusted for all the height differences between sims, like say a super tall one trying to kiss a short one will need a whole new set of animations for all the potential height differences it's very ambitious to try and do it. I think a lot of fans don't understand the complexity and might respond negatively if it's not perfect which could kill the project
@@kalika-1590 yeah I recently subscribed to their patreon and they've talked about that on there, the issues with animations. I think they gave themselves a lot more work by doing flexible heights. I don't think it seems like the best use of time either. Personally though I've always been more into the building tools and nbhd creation side so having the animations a little sloppy wouldn't bother me at all. I think youre definitely right that many sims players will be disappointed though. The sims is such a massive game now that there's no way for any of these new games to compete in multiple areas at once. It seems like paralives has focused a lot on the building tools which is why I'm most interested in their game. Inzoi seems to have focused on gameplay and interaction between characters. Life by you kind of seems like they tried to do it all and ended up with a sloppy product.
I like it! I like the art style, and the build mode looks interesting although I’m a solo player and prefer to do interiors/furnishings rather than build from scratch.
I’ve been hearing a lot about this demo, but haven’t seen it in action until watching your video. I like all the textures and the outdoor lighting is really pretty! But still some work to do. Like no world building?! Nooooo. I am interested how the viva characters interact with the environment and how much depth comes with gameplay. Also not really interested in multiplayer but cool to have!
Great review of build mode! If only I cared about building, lol. Never been my jam without purpose…and by purpose I mean like my family is outgrowing their starter house or the town really needs a better park but those ideas only come to me through natural game progression and evolution of my characters and town. Building just to build is not something I’m into and I always start with a super basic game starter house.
Very interesting thanks, somehow i have heard very little about this game. Great comprehensive review. I hope they improve on those issues you mentioned, especially the window placement issue, camera tools, and the interior lighting looking like its outside.
tbh vivaland, as a primarily multiplayer game, doesn't really excite me. but it's nice to see more life sims coming out! as a builder, the build tools look so... unintuitive? every speed build I've seen in the game have the strangest gripes about the build mode so hopefully they can fix things up soon. also a moveobjects type cheat would be amazing! i'd love to be able to place plants wherever.
I also don't care for multiplayer games, but if they manage to offer a fleshed out single player mode I'll try it out. And yes, certain building tools were definitely unintuitive (the whole right click to open sizing options for the roof/stairs comes to mind). I'm most interested to see how the characters will interact with the environment, especially considering how freely you can place things, what about pathing, clipping, using objects...
This is the first time I’ve heard of Vivaland. It’s definitely an aesthetically pleasing game! I also tend to play video games on my own, so I don’t know how much use I would get out of multiplayer. As always, I really enjoyed hearing your thoughts on it! I’ll have to keep this game on my radar going forward. 🙂
Great review ! I hope the dev team of Vivaland will listen to your comments. What was the captain cook's reference ? I didn't get it ^^ I'm curious. I play the sims4 and enjoy it a lot. But my game is modified to the max, with wicked whims, basemental dr*gs, the MMCC, Nisa's Wicked P*rversions (if you know, you know...🙈) etc...
@@apat2691 it was a piracy reference ☠️👀 because 1k for a game? Ridiculous.... I honestly don't dislike ts4 tho, I know some ppl are dedicated to hating everything about it. I just find it boring for long-term gameplay, which is absolutely essential for a life sim.

if you like building games, there is also Architect Life 😊
@@rg9387 I've played house flipper and the tenants so that might be something i would enjoy, thanks :)

Colors and textures look so much better than TS4. Beautiful 😍
I hadn't heard about this game, so it's interesting to see your take on it :)
I think I will test it, I like how it looks
These all look interesting but I still love TS2. ❤
