You got any video out on the trail or wherever you take this? Also, where is that dyno of the YFZ50 you piped? 😁 Very cool rig. Just Sub'd, keep videos coming, cool projects.
You got the stock trans in there? If you do, i'm curious to see how it holds up. I swapped a sidekick trans into mine to take the additional power, and even then, its munched the bearings in it after about 7000ish miles with a 110hp tune. When I rebuild mine its getting a toyota r151 trans and matching transfer case.
@@khaoskustomsredmond ah, so then the same setup I have pretty much. Did you go with the dual transfer case setup or just the sidekick? I have the dual case setup but have been tempted to go to just a sidekick case only to get better highway RPMs. The high range reduction in the samurai t-case is killing me, even with stock gears in it.
@@ktmfour1007 in my experience, it still wasn't enough. I was running 33s with the stock 3.73 gears in the diffs, stock gears in the samurai t-case, and a sidekick trans. the doubler was 1:1 in high so it can be ignored. the TDI really wanted to sit at 1800-2200rpm, but that puts it right at 48 mph at 2200rpm. Its the high range reduction in the samurai transfer case that kills it. at 65 it was spinning at 3000 rpm. It would do it, but the EGT was getting kinda hot then as the turbo was out of the efficiency range. A bigger turbo would have helped but it still just needed to be rid of that high gear reduction. A toyota drivetrain would have been a lot better.
Hopefully ill see simular results with an aaz and bosch pump
I would like more info about the parts you used and how you tuned it ? I have the same car and I am thinking to go for this setup !

Gearing matters tires kill hp. For a acurate hp reading gear ratio matters and rpm

I have a sidekick tranny/tcase in there with a Centerforce dual friction clutch.
I have about 3000 miles on the build, doing just fine.

@@MonkeyWithAWrench single tcase, stock gears all around with the 32s. 2100 RPMs at 60mph. About 32mpg at this setup.
. In 4 or 5th gear 32s are going too be real long on the road which helps with the diesel

Hows the sidekick 5 speed holding up?
No issues with it. Holding up well.
@@khaoskustomsredmond thank you. I have a samurai, and a ALH motor available. Maybe I shouldnt be thanking you 🤔🤣🤘
