Did you ever figure this out? I purchased an 05 (mechanic special). Previous owner changed heads. There was a sensor like this one not plugged into anything. I moved everything like your video only to find the sensor was there. So where does this extra sensor go?
That's the baro pressure sensor
Baro =atmospheric pressure
Do you ever figured it out what was the problem with your truck?
No I have not! It still reads 2psi on the boost
@@bennyschumpchange7170 your vanes might be closed more than they be on a stock tune. So the vanes could be closed and creating a slight bit of boost
@@695noah ya I still haven't figured it out but that seems to be most logical! Thank you
What does your barometric pressure sensor read It uses that sensor to calculate boost from atmospheric pressure im currently haven the same issue
What was happening to the truck to get your attention
See any difference after changing ?
Slightly but definitely need to be changed! Just felt better replacing it and seeing if it was the issue behind my boost gauge issue however it did not fix that.
@@bennyschumpchange7170 cool thanks. Have you fixed the issue?
I still have not figured out why my boost gauge still read's 3 pounds of boost at idle!
My 2005 LLY shows 1-2 psi at idle depending on engine temp. I figured it was just normal air flow pressure at idle. It shows 0 with key on and engine off
Don't you just love engineers and their computers in CAD drawings which allows no room for real-world human access😢
Was the truck throwing an engine code. Ive got a p0237 code and ive googled it and it comes back to a number of things including that sensor
No code
@James Johnson, I've got the same code on mine. Did you find the problem with yours?
@@nopenottanoway no still there after I replaced the sensor upon further investigation I found that the vane position sensor in the turbo could be bad causing the problem or the vanes in the actual turbo itself sticking or stuck causing the map sensor code. Haven't had the time or money to have the turbo pulled apart to see what it actual is
@@OneBaddAssZ71 ok. Thanks for getting back with me. Guess I'll start with that sensor myself and go from there. I have codes p0237 and p0299 coming up. Getting kind of tired of the continuous guessing games with these trucks.😑
@@nopenottanoway I've got a good friend who is a diesel mechanic who pretty much specializes in duramaxes soon a I get a chance mine is goin to him. If it turns out the vanes stuck and turbo is going bad then I'm going back with a 65mm to replace the stocker. Other then that one issue with my truck I love it
2006 Duramax STOP STOP DO NOT FOLLOW THIS VIDEO. It is on the charge air line on the passenger side. You don't need to disconnect all this stuff. You will not find any sensor at all in this location. Ask me how I know. Maybe that's where it was in 2005 but not in 2006
@@jakeanderson5383 what motor do you have in your 06'?
Next time just remove the bracket for the harness and the whole harness comes up with the sensor two minutes versus removing everything
Would that prevent having to remove the belt too?
Yeah, because you’re just removing the harness bracket the and leaving the alternator in place, I mean, it could help it’s only two bolts
@@ericks5498 thank you! Gonna try and tackle it tomorrow!
Brother, you speak too slowly for YT and you use way too many words to say simple things. It's not folksy. It's not funny. It's tedious. Get to the point, be concise, and you'll get the views/likes.
