I've heard of a few people replacing both just in case. As much as I'd like to do this, my local GMC dealer has a reputation of being picky with warranty claims so i'm hesitant to do it.
I was wondering what you were going to do for 'modifications' now that you got a new truck...& here we are. How are the other projects going; the Firebird, the monster Luv, the old Chev truck (I forget the year) & I might be missing 1 or 2 more?!
I will say, mine was filthy at 20K miles. I just cleaned it every oil change on my 2019, but this 2024 seems to soot up more…. So I grabbed a banks spacer kit. My banks kit came with two screws, a spare? Second, the sensors wiring is all on top of one another, so I used some zip ties to get some separation to avoid rubbing / chafing…. Will see how it goes!!! Thanks for the helpful video. Lastly, for me, it was easier to screw the sensor into the banks block, and then into the manifold…
FWIW - I use a legit wood toothpick and MAP sensor cleaner on my L5P. 125,000 miles on my 2019 and 20,000 on my 2024, never unplugged sensor for cleaning. Never had an issue…. The bulb is blue inside the round barrel, not black, just so you know.
@@jonathonsantamont8527 Yeah. I unplugged the lower one for cleaning and of corse got ECL on after start up engine. No big deal, I cleared the code, and all kinda good. Kinda, because I lost at least 3MPG. Back at 12mpg as it was brand new truck 4 months ago. I wonder if whole system will have to relearn everything????
Have you ended up having to clean the MAP relocator and the MAP sensor when its time to clean? Just imagining some soot working it's way into the little relocator opening into the EGR.
Just ordered mine for my 2020. I have not cleaned the MAP sensor and have almost 40K on the truck. Will probably need 2 cans of MAF cleaner. Of course Chevy does not recommend cleaning it, they recommend buying a new one!! Thanks for the info!
Use a wood toothpick and MAP sensor cleaner…. Works like a charm. Be easy, not aggressive. Yours will be totally caked. The bulb inside the barrel of the sensor is blue, FYI. You ain’t clean until it’s blue again…
@@jonathonsantamont8527 Still haven't put the Banks spacer on it yet, I hardly ever drive the truck unless I'm going on a trip somewhere. Appreciate the info Brother!! May have to do that tomorrow while it's on my mind again.
@@Big88Country mine was fully caked at 20K. Get her clean before the sensor fails and it’s replacement…. A good beer and this is a 5-10 minute job taking your time!!!
My L5P Map sensor was completely caked over with soot where I couldn’t see through the circular portion of the sensor at ONLY 10k miles. Idling & poor quality Diesel kills these things. Check them regularly or go with the Banks

I’m the same any modification will void the warranty, I’ll just clean it regularly.
This seems absurd.

@@marcelo403polo2 I feel like my 2019 did better MPG wise than my 2024…. I guess the extra HP and torque come at a cost…

Check out the fuel filter upgrade as well from vse engineering.
