Tool is def a band where multiple listens to songs are necessary. Several of my favs are songs that I initially didn't like, and once I listened to them several times the polyrhythms an syncopation begins to click and you start to understand the song as a full piece of work.
Awww thank you! Honestly I've played Rocksmith for a long time and wanted to do this after I saw there were lots of UA-camrs who did Rocksmith but didn't provide commentary. And I'm actually really happyv with this format!
this is such an awesome perspective to react from. its one thing to react to tool for the first time, but to do so as you play it must be such a visceral experience. also really cool to see your expertise with the game/guitar and how it allows you to play good enough to experience the awesomeness of the song.
This is such an amazing comment, I really appreciate you saying all this. Honestly these are my favorite types of videos to do because I love this game and I love doing commentary while trying to figure out the song, it's so awesome for me. I'm really glad you guys are enjoying the content as well!!! There's only like one other UA-camr that I know of who kinda does something similar so I feel it's much more unique as well!! Stay Awesome! 🎸🤘💙
Once you wrap your head around their music I think you'll be a huge fan. Weird timing and lots of tempo changes are one of their signatures. Try H and the Grudge. Also you will probably like the live drum cam of Pneuma. Its a pretty amazing performance.
Pretty cool. Judging by your library you will love a band called YES and their song called Roundabout off the Fragile album. Love to this applied to YES
I really enjoy your videos ! 😁 I think it's a good idea to react to a new song and to play it at the same time on Rocksmith. You can enjoy and understand the mood so much more that way !! 😁 Keep up the good work bro !! 🤘🤘
The time signatures are tricky to understand. It definitely takes a lot of listens. The guitaring is super technical like you said especially the guitar. You should definitely listen to Part of Me off of the salival ep they released.
Yep, I feel like once I understand more about Tool, I'll be able to accurately judge better. Thanks for the suggestion, really helps as a new discoverer of Tool! 💙🤘🎸
The poly rhythms are crazy. That’s one of their most straightforward songs. Danny is playing different times signatures with each limb at points in time, while everyone else is playing a completely different time signature from that. You definitely need to do a lot more if you want straightforward do the pot or Lateralus (written to match the Fibonacci sequence). They are the best band doing it alive in my opinion and I’ve seen everyone. If you want to get more jammed out, check out invincible or descending
Thanks for all the suggestions bro!!! Really appreciate you typing all this out. Yeah the time signatures are definitely tough to get 🤣 but I'll get the hang of it! Stay Awesome man!!!
Alright,... how about you listen to the track a bit and come back and do it again once ypu understand rhe vibe of this track. Keep playong TOOL, amd TOOL Army will show up! Best band in the history of rock. #SpiralOut
I gotta give my man credit. Tool is superb! dont try the drums lol. ive been trying my whole life to nail Danny Careys drums. Then i found Sleep Token. so much love and good in this world.....keep practicing brother. i had to learn the hard way. not recommended lol.
Awwwwww man! I think it's something you kinda gotta get used to visually LOL, I'm very used to it so honestly I think you gotta give it a little bit to let your eyes adjust!

That what it kinda seemed like when I listened to this. I was thinking it probably needed a couple more listens. Thanks for confirming!
Great video and great comments section. Everyone keep up the good work! 😃
Thanks bro! Hah you know you're a part of this awesome comment section now! Thanks for watching buddy! 🎸🤘💙

4:30 there are time signature changes Or rather there's an extra beat every other bar.
Yeah it's so tough to keep up 🤣 liked the rhythms though!
And if you haven't check out Steely Dan, another band where every song is good :) Maybe start with Reelin' in the Years... or Aja...
I haven't heard them! Definitely will check them out!

Is Tool amazing with a question mark LOL Tool is the greatest band ever! I'm not a musician just love good music. Try Descending.
Thanks for the suggestion and ehehehe can't wait to check out more!
What a nauseating way to present tablature.

There is a mode you can switch to in Rocksmith that shows tabs like normal
