In this case, I put them on the shelf and let them sit for days. But I think an hour would be fine. They do definitely need to be sealed before resin. Every time I touched either cup, I got color on my fingers - dry, but color rubbed off. So I sprayed them both with Rustoleum 2X Clear spray (I used semi-gloss), let that dry an hour at most, then resin.
These are some of my favorites to make, At 4:00 is when I take alcohol in a spray bottle and do a light spritz here and there from far back. It makes awesome designs!
So do you dilute the brass that was already in the small ink vial? What is the best process? Pour the entire bottle into the extra bottle then add alcohol
Yes, i use a pipette to transfer some brass alcohol ink to a small, empty bottle that has a dropper top, then I add half of that same amount of 91% alcohol to the small bottle. So, say, 4 pipette-fulls of brass then 2 pipette-fulls of plain alcohol. Shake well before using 😊 You could also do exactly what you said - pour an entire small bottle of brass, which I believe is 1/2 an ounce, into an empty bottle then add 1/4 ounce of alcohol.
Good question! I would expect the more alcohol would reactivate what’s dried, so you should be able to add more. No idea what the rainbow alcohol ink would do… 🤔
My turners don’t clamp but there are some where the arms do lock onto the turner with a cotter pin, or the arms are usually attached with a screw and nut, but you can replace that assembly with a cotter pin to make the arm removable if you want to. amzn.to/3QasEi4

Hello I noticed your tumbler was not level. Could be why the inks went to the bottom. But definitely a great look (black & gold) was really pretty.

Love it! How long do you let them dry before you epoxy them?

So once dry can you add alcohol again and more color? What about black and rainbow maribou ink??
Good question! I would expect the more alcohol would reactivate what’s dried, so you should be able to add more. No idea what the rainbow alcohol ink would do… 🤔
So cool.
Thanks!
I'm having problems with my cups falling off the turner does yours clamp ? If so where did you get yours from?
