I recommend the Truthear Hexa at less than $100 usd, sounds nice and neutral but not too bright. It has 3 balanced armatures and 1 dynamic and the best part, it has a 3d printed transparent resin design so you you can see all the venting and filters inside of it. There are a lot of great chi fi brands making excellently tuned IEMs for quite low price points these days
Try the in ear planars, you may like. S12 pro tries its very best. Thanks for a lovely cable Jason, much better than my others 😇
If some turn up here, I will give them a go ;)
These do have serious competition in the space. The Tangzu Zetian Wu & 7hz timeless 2 are bookending these & all of them are planar drivers. These are apparently 4 planar & a dynamic which I've never seen before. The other 2 are single planar drivers. There are many other planar iems & I wonder how they stack up.
I may gave to get some more in to try at some point
Now to get you to listen to a set of tws earbuds by the name of Status Audio Between pros or the newer version the Status Audio Between 3ANC.....they will absolutely blow you mind and they are around the same price of the ones in this video.... 🙏 ❤️ 😊 Much Love and Many Blessings from Texas....
Great review, can you stuff them in you measuring ears to see what the frequency graph looks like?
I did give it a quick go but I don't think the ears we have work well with in ears as I could not seem to get a good reading
Hey brother, i know this review is a bit old but just a correction the penta does not have Balanced Armatures. They are micro-planar drivers.
Yes you are right ... My IEM knowledge is weak ;) It is not something I have played with much yet
Hi Jason! I'm about to buy an IEM, I'd like to ask your opinion. 1more P50 or AKG N5005. Thanks in advance!
I have not tried the AKG ones but I was very impresses witht the P50 - It is probably worth having a hunt on some forums to see if anyone has compared them
@@CustomCansThank you very much for the quick reply! I used AKG K3003i, it has faults. I've read a lot about the N5005 and I'm not convinced. I haven't found a comparison with the P50 vs N5005 anywhere yet. I think I'll try 1more. Thank you again 😊👍
IEM on average sound better than most headphones but I still have 7 pairs of them on the shelf.I don't enjoy ear raping and I have heard better soundstage and better feeling bass on headphones.
Yes, I was pleasantly surprised and may have to try some others if I get a chance
Have you considered buying better measurement rig.
money doesn't grow on trees. have you considered donating or becoming a channel member? lol
Its a pretty negligible investment tbh considering the amount of headphones this channel works on.
@@mini-337 I thought top of the line measurement rigs like those used by the largest audio brands were like many thousands if not tens of thousands... maybe I remembered wrong
@@nicholaswilks580they are over tens of thousands of dollars
Yes, we can't afford a proper head and torso simulator but we would like to build a new rig at some point. Nearly all the money we make goes back into product development but there is a chance we will have some spare money this month. If we do, we will be buying some of the components we would need and hopefully in a few months we have all the bits we need and can maybe do a build video on the new measurement rig
1) These are 1x dynamic driver, 4x *planar* driver(not BA drivers)
2)Thats good, as BA drivers are junk! They noticably color the timbre/tonality of whatever they're reproducing.
Thanks... I am not fully up to speed on in ear stuff. I will have to get a few more pairs in so I can compare
I can’t see how they could possibly get 4 planar drivers in such a small space or I wouldn’t expect them to work very well with tiny diaphragms. They don’t look like planar drivers and the shape is much more like balanced armature.
I also don’t agree that ba’s are junk. Neither do many earphone manufacturers who have often used them in their top of the line iems that cost thousands.
@@murph8411 Well they expressly market them as “Planar”, and feature an exploded diagram showing an oblong voicecoil acting on a diaphragm(rather than an armature) inside each box. So unless they’re lying on all counts, these *are* planar magnetic drivers, regardless of whether or not you agree/know what you’re taking.
And the other point is just a subjective matter of taste; I’ve simply never heard a BA driver I couldn’t identify as totally…weird. I’m sure the $$$$ IEM that feature them make better use(I certainly hope they do!), but generally inferior in my experience.
I thought you were gonna stand up and give us a twirl.
Lol... I do like that cyberdog top ;)
@@CustomCans Yes, it's very fetching on you. 😁
One More is not audiophile brand. Quite low quality sound.
No.. you would need to add an extra zero on the end of the price before audiophiles would be interested ;) I thought these sounded pretty good for the price, have you tried this model?
These sound like crap for the price! Go for the FIIO FD11s instead.
The marketing for these mentions no balenced armstures only 1dd 4 planar.. you read from the same script as the other lemmings who reviewed this pos... sad they could not even market their own shit correctly
No - it is totally my fault - I have never reviewed some in ears before and did not know the correct terminology
