It's a lovely product - I have used Satin Paint on many projects with great success. I have even , in some cases, primed a piece with Chalk Paint in a similar tone to Satin Paint in order to avoid sanding down then added 2 top coats of Satin. It works !
Thank you for your reply. So as you say I can use the satin paint after light sanding of the chalk paint and waxed chairs, I will go ahead and give it a go. Best regards. Sylvia
I painted dining table and 6 chairs with your chalk paint a couple years ago and was very happy with the results, however with use the paint on some of the chairs are wearing off. My question, can I use satin paint to paint over the furniture or must I sand and prime everything first? I have a bad feeling I know what your going to say as it was a big job to do initially and I really dont want to start from scratch again. But I will still look forward to hearing from you ust the same. Many thanks
Hi, it's difficult to say without seeing the areas, but the best solution could be to paint the worn areas with the original Chalk Paint colour and re-wax, no need to sand everything. Just lightly sand any areas if they're peeling or cracking. You can also go straight over the Chalk Paint and Wax with Satin Paint should you wish, but it would be worth giving the worn areas a light sand. For more information, see our website!
Hi there, we would recommend using Satin Paint for wooden walls. This should be fine without priming, however we suggest a small test area over a knot first to see if there's any knotting solution required. Hope this helps!

Since the cure time is 14 days, does that mean we can’t shower in the bathroom for 14 days if I paint the vanity with the satin paint?
