You can’t use hot glue on a pot holder you’re using for a hot cast iron pan. Those handles get hot all the way to the end. It is a great idea IF it’s sewn, instead of glued because that glue WILL remelt!

So many of these "hack" videos are just designed to make an entertaining video, not to actually create useful items. Sadly most of these "projects" wouldn't last one use. Its an annoying trend

@@bubgum0079 I rewatched it and you’re correct. She used hot glue on several of them, but fabric glue on the cast iron holder. I still believe sewing it would work better. Glue of any kind isn’t made for that kind of heat.

Be careful using hot glue on projects that are exposed to high heat or direct sun. The glue can soften up and the project will fail if it does.

I am hoping to buy my first house in the next few weeks and stored in my brain and written in my idea book are many ideas from this channel. I have the same salt and pepper towel but, it now looks so bland on my towel bar. I have made hundreds of potholders from fabric and they have sold quite nicely as pairs at craft sales but, I bet these already made pot holders repurposed would be a hit. I said Tommy boyfriend weeks ago I wonder if anyone has ever made an eye glass case out of a pot holder, that was going to be a new craft idea, but then on this I see the wallet and I LOVE IT! I would embellish one corner of it too. I would like to see how the black purse was made too.

Here’s the buuuutttt…… E-6000, gorilla glue, crazy glue, fabric glue, glue gun. etc etc etc…..the ONLY thing that works for a cast-iron pan would be to sew the holder.
NONE of the aforementioned glues have EVER held up to heat that I know of🤷🏼‍♀️ so forgive me if I’m wrong, but I could only see sewing working for that one. Darn brilliant though because that is really all they are…. potholder a $20 potholder that’s been sewn!!! Absolutely brilliant!!

Several nice ideas here. But,,,,,I question the use of some of the glues used like others here mention. Sewing would have been much better and long lasting. Fabric glues are really only meant to be a temporary hold until sewing is done. It will not hold up to a lot of wear and tear, washing or drying. Many glues for crafting are not meant to hold up forever. Weather conditions like, heat, cold, sun, wind, age, all play a part of the different things that can affect how well the many things that (including the components) hold the craft together.
