I watched your videos (and Rex‘s) videos first when i turned 18 (legal age of drinking in Germany) and I fell in love with whisky. Now I expanded my palett with wine and rediscovered your content. I love the „new“ style and the story telling.
Welcome to Mr. Whittington's Gifted Drams Neighbor!
Love the idea of showing us a flavor wheel.
Also love the wheel idea. Your flavors have helped me so much in the last 5 years trying what is available and you have reviewed. I don't get any grassy type notes so I either don't understand them or haven't tried that kind of whiskey yet.
Cheers Sir!
This is like having a drink with an old friend. I love this new direction
That actually sounds really good. i wish they'd release these kinds of things to the global market.
That is how Jack sells that line. It's all 375 mL, all experimental whiskeys and only available in Tennessee.
Normal Jack D is too sweet, and this is sweeter! Still when in a pub with a very poor selection; mix with coke and ice and its something to nurse on a hot evening.
Loved your "Mr. Rogers" style entry! Great insights as always, thank you!
They should make smaller demo bottles a lot more available to the general customer...
There are no end of things I would like to have a small sample of before committing to a full bottle
I’m not a fan of Jack Daniels but damm I’d love to try that. Love anything sherry cask.
That’s actually how they sell the Tennessee Tasters at the distillery. That’s not a specific media sample. The public buys it the same way.
I was able to grab one from the store awhile back, A great version of JD
Flavor wheel would be great for people like me trying to organize their palate. Thanks!
Thanks for the review 🥃
Jack Daniels? I thought there was a typo or a mistake but nope,Jack freaking Daniels
Once someone mentioned the flavor and taste of wet paper bag in Jack Daniels. I have never been able to enjoy JD since. All I can taste is brown paper bag now
so JD still is JD no matter how hard they try... thanks for the warning
Interesting. I've always been one to think that Jack Daniels is just ...Ok. So yeah, neat. Thank you.
Random Thought: For whatever reason, now that the channels are separate, I picture you and Rex seeing each other like Seinfeld and Newman. " Hello Daniel".
😂😂
Cheers 🥃
The 2023 Twice Barreled Rye Special Release was five years in first barrel and three in the second, my guess would be this whiskey was probably aged 4-5 years before being put in the sherry barrel.
I nabbed a couple of bottles while touring the distillery a few months ago. Wasn't too impressed. Like the Triple Mash better. The SB Cask Strength Rye is really good.
Wondering if Brown Forman brought in Dr Rachel Berry to consult with JD on this as she is already on the payroll running Glendronach, Benriach and Glenglasuh for them ?
Do you get the sense that it was wet casks or dry casks that the whiskey was aged in?
Feels dry
Funny how the back-up vault looks like the OG vault. Hmmmm
3 years in sherry is more like a double maturation then it is a finishing process in my opinion. Especially if the whiskey is (maybe) ~6yrs old give or take a year.
Did you ever get to sample Popcorn Suttons' Likker?
Likker? I don’t even know her! 😂
Love the magic hat. Need one
I always get a charcoal flavor from jd
85👍
Can anyone explain why did Daniel stopped making WVault videos with Rex? I watched them both a long time ago, and now I don't see Rex anymore (at least at Vault channel)?
Tax reasons. Whiskey School is non-profit, Whiskey Distillery is for profit, therefore never the twain shall meet.
For the algo-oloroso-ythm
Where’s the mooch
No entiendo porqué usaron oloroso oak. No es el perfil clásico de bourbon que gusta al bebedor de usa.
Supongo que sólo es una partida de baja producción. Bisness & bisness
jack daniels = YUK!!! I have never had it on my shelf, nor will I ever have it on my shelf, crap whiskey!!!
What in the world is around your neck?!
Maximum fancy
