I only switched to an iPhone from android because I wanted less customization, less features, less screen time but with every OS update I end up wasting 30 mins of my life. Samsung and iPhone have become echo chambers of themselves. I miss dumb phones

Agree… I’m tired of endless customizing and tweaking devices. There is an art of knowing when to stop
I only want to be able to easily and quickly change equalizer settings when listening to music. I can't even do that with IOS 17.2. The rest of these settings just complicate the whole iPad experience.
I have an iPad Pro with IOS 17.3.1 but do not see the option for “Delete Inactive Backups.” Do you know why I don’t see that? Should I also look on my iPhone Pro Max? Nope, it’t not there either. Can you advise please?
I am having a problem with a new (to me) iPad Pro with iPadOS 17.3.1 where the touchscreen hangs up for several seconds. Is there a setting to relieve this problem. I cannot find any information from Apple.

In iCloud, Messages in iCloud, the Keep Messages Tab - Currently my designation is "Forever". I don't know if that is a default, but I believe it may be as I have not gone to this setting previously. I have over 1.1 MILLION messages in iCloud! Is there any conceivable reason I should not change that setting to 30 days, or at least 1 Year, and get rid of so many old messages? For the life of me I cannot imagine why I need to keep them, but I want to think through this and hope you might have some insight! Thanks.

Old school iPhone 13 user here. Ever since updating to iOS 17.1, I've noticed much quicker battery drain in general than with iOS 16.*. Under Settings -> Battery, I have been seeing "Camera" show up under the "Battery Usage by App" section even for 24-hour windows when I have not used the Camera. Right now, it is telling me I have used the Camera app for 5 minutes in the past 24 hours. Uh, no, I haven't! Has iOS 17.* added some feature that is accessing the camera?

I’ve just upgraded to 17.2 kindle is now broken. I’ve reinstalled kindle with no improvement when I start kindle it stays up for about 3 seconds then exits to the ribbon.

What does the orange dot in the camera icon mean?
The orange dot is I believe is if you make a call to indicate the microphone is in use
@@scottwick7712 The tiny dot in the camera icon? I also have a regular size orange dot at top right of the screen when on a call… I had heard that could mean calls were being monitored??!!?

It’s so fricking annoying. I’ve tried everything and am now thinking of using Chrome, which is a shame as I’m used to Safari. I’ll let you know if I can fix the issue. 👍
I thought this was about TURNING OFF dangerous or unnecessary items. I don't care about all the bells and whistles. I found that certain websites on my IPad said my browser (safari) needed updating. That's the only reason I updated.
