I think this is why these early Mustangs were so popular. They were small, peppy, fun to drive, affordable and look pretty sporty. New cars will never again be as simple or as popular as these classics.
Funny I never know which video will go viral. I appreciate you watching Samspace81, doing a lot better productions nowadays and not so many marketing based videos :)
had one almost like that one to a tee. only mine had a white vinyl top and the GT package along with the full pony interior. Loved it. Bought it in 75.
plan on getting a 1965 mustang as my first car and my uncle in law paints cars so he can give me a new paint job of any color (pink lol) can you imagine the stares ill get rolling up too school in a pink mustang? XD
+Joni Papuli Mine has a heavy clutch pedal, drum brakes on all 4 wheels and manual steering. Also, the engine noise can be a little overwhelming when taking it for long drives (it's loud, but it sounds gorgeous!). It takes some effort to drive a car with such a setup, but eventually you'll get used to it :) I find my Mustang very comfortable, and I enjoy driving it. Sometimes I almost can't make myself park it again, because I enjoy the ride so much! :P And btw, my Mustang is not my daily driver. It's strictly a summer cruiser :)
This is one of the most beautiful videos without a babe in it that I've ever seen! I was raised in the 60's and 70's at the height of the muscle car era. I drooled over the Mustangs from the day they were first introduced, and I planned to buy a brand new one with a 289 or maybe 302 4 bbl. when I got old enough to have a real job making real money. I finally got the real job in 1973 when the '74 Mustangs were coming out, but if you remember, that's when Ford ruined the Mustang name-car and came out with the anemic little Mustang II. What a letdown--that new 'Mustang' had a Ford Pinto as its platform! I was heartbroken--the banks wouldn't finance as much money or a used 1973 Mustang in nice condition as they would on a new 1974 Mustang, so my dream got blown out of the water. I settled for buying a new 1974 Plymouth Scamp with a 318 V8 instead, but it wasn't what I really wanted or had in mind. Circumstances just never worked out for me, and I've never been able to buy that car I had my heart set on. I still watch the videos, though.
The engine is a 289 Special, gold accents my grandfather had a 1965 Fairlane with the same engine, three on the column. It would take off in second going up hill. He would let me drive it on the weekends, I was sixteen.
I have a toploader in my 65. What gears are you running in the rear? I swapped out 2.88's for 3.50's with Eaton lockers but I'm having to shift into 4th by 40mph.
Much love from Detroit!!! Damn so pretty my eyes are watering, the sound, the interior damn nice paint too brotha! Im gonna have to take my v8 mustang out to wakeup the neighbor's now lol
samspace81, Sweet ride my friend, I have a '66 pretty much identical less the Rally-Pak (San Jose Ca car), what rear-end gearing do you have, still haven't figured mine out, although I can take off in 4th its pretty low? ;-)
There is a 1966 Mustang for sell in my area for only 7 grand. It is dirty from the interior, needs new brakes, primer all over the exterior, and its a manual. Is it worth it?
That lil engine that could- KICK MANY ASSES of cars. There were many variations of the infamous "289". Then, on the light cars like the 'Stang, Falcon. My uncle had a brand new 'stang with a 289 4V, automatic. No power nothing. It was nice. Gold exterior-yuck. Fun times!
+Galactusz007 I wish I could tell you! I did this one awhile back (video) Hope you're enjoying the Mustangs on my channel! Check out the one I just posted up - ua-cam.com/video/55m11J_Zxxg/v-deo.html
+samspace81 Thanks. I have a 64 1/2 coupe. I'm not going original, I'm restomoding it. Just dropped a 302 in it. I'm thinking of painting it either poppy red, viper red, redfire...or go complete opposite...ang go Wimbledon white. I was thinking even painting Le Mans stripes, but might not look good on a coupe...stripes looks great on a fastback. The interior was just painted all black (satin). Has American Racing Torque Thrust D's. Any opinions on Le Mans stripes on a coupe? What do you think of the Reds I mentioned? How about Wimbledon white? Might even consider the more modern Oxford white. Thanks!!!
Thank you for The Ride!!! That's a real Mustang! This ride help me to forget how bad the cars of the 2010's are... (and it gets worst every year). Is this Fisher Price who make car those days...???
may I ask what color red that is? I would really like to paint my 65 that same color. If you could get back to me on that that would be awesome. Nice videos by the way. :)
Beautiful mustang. I recently bought a 65' , needs some work but its getting there. I have a couple of questions, if you dont mind. I love the sound, are you running straight pipes? Also where do you recommed i buy the interior- (seats, panels. . .)

Pony cars! Man I couldn't agree more Robert. Appreciate you watching
I have to agree, No one understands cars as they did back then.
Get a foxbody or SN95. With a few mods they can be just as fun as these for cheap.

Yep! And i gotta give it to ford... they hit a home run with the 64'-69' mustangs. The design is flawless.
Wow that camera man can run really fast!

Rode a 67 for a while back in the 90's, you are right!
That is unbelievable in what condition it is in. I want it!!
Enjoy them while you can. There will never be another quite so classy.

Every since I was a little boy I wanted one of these and now that I’m 16 I’m getting one as my first car. Long live the American icon
Jarvis Longoria at 16? Dude my ass had to walk to school at 16 and you can’t even drive it after 10pm lmao

Is it comfortable by today's standards? Just curious

that's a sexy pony and in red ufff it looks better
Push down and over to the left for reverse???
Huh, thanks for watching
I would love to see a video of the inside!
Beautiful mustang! I was wondering what would have been the top of the line mustang fastback in 1965? Pricing for a stang like you're driving here?
Under 4 grand
How much do these usually go for nowadays?
20 to 30K for a nice coupe
There is a 1966 Mustang for sell in my area for only 7 grand. It is dirty from the interior, needs new brakes, primer all over the exterior, and its a manual. Is it worth it?
Not that being a manual is bad, I just want to point that out.
Ya should have bought it haha
I saw a bit of blue smoke while accelerating.
Uhoh
The engine sounds solid. I wonder if its ever been rebuilt?
Probably once or twice
How much hp do the 289 V8 deliver at stock?
250ish
looks good
It does!
damn that's nice
My 65 convertible has a 302 in it, should i convert is to a manual trans?
+Jordan Lord If you want, but an automatic is a sweet cruiser.

Thank you for The Ride!!! That's a real Mustang! This ride help me to forget how bad the cars of the 2010's are... (and it gets worst every year). Is this Fisher Price who make car those days...???
Exactly!!! Haha... Fisher Price... I also hate how cars these days have no keys. Just a push button, on/off as though they're toy cars :(
What wheels are those?
I filmed this so many years ago, wish I could tell you. Thanks for watching Samspace81 though - SAM

Devante Chandler Ford Candyapple Red
Should have enough cash to buy one this year then immediately start getting to work building it up!
Very cool, did you score a Mustang?
Yeah I got a 65 Mustang 200 and fixed it up pretty nice so it’s worth more than I paid, now I’m gonna trade it for a 2004 cobra.
