Note about the sound system. If the car has Harmon Kardon (Plus or Ultra trim) there is indeed an amplifier, subwoofer in the trunk and speakers in the doors.
This was not well-done. 16 minutes and all I learned about how it drives is that it's "great on road" and "goes off-road." That's a fail considering the detail that all the other UA-camrs went into in the videos that also came out today. (And you're wrong about needing to reach to the back to open/close the rear windows - the controls up front can be switched to operate the rear windows. Silly design, yes.)
The base 2wd in Canada starts at US$41,500 before taxes and licensing, so its definitely not a $35k car here. The AWD models start at C$62,646. Volvos used to be popular in Canada, but not anymore.
Go whichever way you want on the China issue, but i'm amazed at how many people say it is an issue, but have an iPhone - Apple is 100% all in on China, Samsung is 100% out: they spent ten years pulling and they use Android, which is made by Google who pulled out years ago on ethical (mostly censorship) grounds.
@@tooltalkYes, the processor is made in Taiwan, good point, but they make & assemble in China everything that can be, plus they sell a lot in China so beholden. Hence we get Apple TV shutting down John Stewart's show. Again, I'm not telling anyone that they must consider this, unless they want to avoid cars like this for being made in China in which case I would suggest some consistency - given that non-China phones are so readily available.
Negatively impressive. I'm a huge fan of EVs, in theory. Not a fan of how EVs eliminate buttons & knobs, and hide all functions behind menus that must be navigated while driving. Can't wait to see if the screens last longer than a phone. I'd hate to have a faulty screen ""brick" my car.
$35k is not inexpensive when here in the UK the MG’s BYD’s, and Dacia are thousands cheaper. The new Citroen 3 EV is due soon at €23,000. That’s inexpensive, not a Chinese built car with a Volvo sticker!
It's a Volvo. Calling it a Chinese built car with a Volvo sticker is misleading because Volvo did a lot of hard work on this car in terms of design, material sustainability and then customizing the platform to make it a Volvo. They just happen to have it built in a Chinese factory for now but it will also be made in Belgium starting in 2024 for the North American and Euro markets. 23K Euro is a lot less than then Volvo entry-level trim at 35K. But it is still a lot less than the XC40 Recharge, Volvo's previous entry-level BEV.
With a button, you can choose whether you want to move the front or rear windows. You don't need to control those rear windows from behind 🤣.
I can't even remember the last time using the rear windows..
Right? Yikes. How do you miss that detail as a professional reviewer?
Time to clean up the verbal delivery and also add the basic exterior dimensions. What's under the hood?
Painful to listen to.
@@cigarmann”umm, umm , umm”. My dude really needs to clean up asap
@@ggaytan7ouch, now you've mentioned it ..
Yeah, I made it 3 minutes, looking up info on Google instead

Window things, wow what an intellectual giant doing this review - REALLY !
Window opening things? Maybe shoot the video and then read a prepared script in post-production. A lot of missing information and very amateurish.
Windows + L, ah shit that locks the window
We've all seen the interior, the specs, all of that stuff. Get on with the drive! 😀
Great review. 😂😂😂 Only an American UA-cam channel would describe this car as 'tiny'.
Too focused on the viceral look and feel
Range?
Charging capacity?
Charge connection port?
Payload?
3:05 It's likely electronics, for central locking, mirror adjustment and heating. Maybe there is also a puddle light.

POLESTAR is 100 % OWNED BY THE FASCIST TOTALITARIAN REGIME OF CHINA ! SO NOT A USUAL PRODUCT !
Why does it have the dash and steering wheel of a golf cart! Just hideous. A much larger screen is your suggestion?
