    In this video I will show you how to get the Halos around the Mopar OEM LED Headlight swap to a non-LED JL Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator. You have to order a harness called the "Wiring-Jumper Part #68347117AB" from any online Mopar parts resellers. The dealer will charge you double, so look online. Also, if they ask you to put your VIN number in the order, and you have a non-led headlight from factory, they will cancel the order because it shows as not-compatible in their system. Leave the VIN # blank.

    Hey, I appreciate your video on the install but the plug you used from the BCM is not the correct one. I was having issues just like you. The drivers side worked but the passenger didn’t. I them read over the directions carefully from Mopar and you’re supposed to use the plug marked with the letter A on the BCM. It was a pain to get to that plug but as soon as I connected “boom” both halos came on. It’s the plug at the very top left of the BCM. I did have a tazer and enabled the LED option. Just a heads up. Thanks again on posting this video.

      Thanks for the update. I ended up using the same plug for both and has worked with no issues, but I'll probably make an update to plug it to the correct side.

      @@DeeperImageAutomotive man, you really should have marked that this is wrong plug and wrong pins! Bundled instruction is pretty straightforward, but after I could not pick correct settings in Jscan, I tried to plug it the way you show, as you said it worked. Only god knows what pins were those, and e.g. on second pin Halo flickered at first, but then shut completely off....

    Thank you for this video I’m going to do the same swap on my jl sport this Sunday. (Stupid question I’m a rookie at all these installs) 1. Do I have to disconnect the battery to do the wiring safely ? And 2. How do you make that wire longer like you talked about ? Thank you

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  3 роки тому

      Bobby no worries at all. You don’t have to disconnected the battery but always recommended to avoid shorting something our or shocking yourself. As for the wire. I believe I ended up leaving it alone and it worked as is. But to extend wires order some automotive wiring kit from Amazon or visit the local auto parts, get a cheap soldering gun and some heat shrink wrap to put over the exposed wires. Basically you cut the wire and label each one then add wires from the wiring kit you source, solder to the harness and heat shrink wrap it.

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  3 роки тому +1

      Yours should be a lot easier with the extra wire already being there from what I've read starting on the 2020 and up. I have the Tazer JL Mini and that worked fine, but I have read it hasn't worked for a few folks. They update the Mini constantly and introduce new or fix features. I've disabled the auto start/stop option, fixed all the LED upgrades I did, and also fixed the low tire warning since I like to run about 30psi and that's below the OEM recommended pressure for stock tires.

    Hi there ! Thanks for sharing this video ! I recently bought a 2020 rubicon and did not come with led lighting group, so I did end up buying these headlights, will I need to buy the 4th wire ? Or does the 2020 rubicon have the 4th wire included ?

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  3 роки тому

      Nicole, my understanding is that the newer JLs have the wire already but you will need to double check the headlight harness, its very simple. When you disconnect the headlight you should see 4 wires like this image I linked vs 3 wires. www.jlwranglerforums.com/forum/attachments/20201010_090932-jpg.379799/
      if you have 4 wires you will not need the mopar LED headlight wiring kit. You will still need something to change the programming from halogen bulb to LED bulb in the computer or it will hyper-flash and turn off randomly. Good luck and let me know if you have questions.

      The main headlights will work, but your high beams won’t, neither will the halos. If you have a 2020 or newer the wire for the halos is already there and you just need to program for LEDs through your dealer something like a Tazer JL mini or similar.

    Hey there, two weeks ago I installed Mopar LED headlamps on my 2019 JL Altitude Sport, I DID NOT run the extra wire for the halos, but I DID have the dealer flash. The passenger low beam occasionally shuts off after flashing the high beams or using the turn signals, and the high beams light up distant but nothing immediately in front of the vehicle as the low beams turn off completely when the high beams are turned on. Only the projectors work when the brights are on. Wondering if you had these issues before running the extra wire, and if YES did the extra wire correct the issues?

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  3 роки тому +1

      The extra wire is for the halos only. 2020 and newer have that extra wire so no need to install it. I was told all other JLs would need that wire but that shouldn’t affect your low beams. When I installed mine without flashing it first (was waiting on my Tazer) I had the exact same issue you’re having even with the halo wire. So I would ask the dealer to reflash it and double check.

      Joey, I'm not sure to be honest. You would probably be able to do it by using a by-pass switch that cuts power to main headlights. You could cut the wires to the main lights, put a relay in between them mated to a switch in the cabin, that when activated cuts the relay off, thus turning off the main lights, leaving only the halos and DRLs on. I'm sure there's a simpler way, but If i had to do it that would be the easiest for me. Good luck and be safe.

      You hate to enable the LED in the ecu programming if your car didn’t come with them from factory. This can be done via the dealer by asking them to program LED headlights and DRL. @DeeperImageAutomotive  4 місяці тому

      For 18-2020 JLs, they only have 3 wires, you need 4 wires to make the halos work. So I had to buy an OEM harness with 3 wires. 1 for each halo/headlight, and one that runs to a connector on the passenger footwell. I also had to use my Tazer Mini JL to enable LED headlights on the computer to let the car know the HALOS are present. Without enabling LED headlights, it won't matter if you install the needed harness. There is a guy on Jeep Wrangler forums that sells a harness that doesn't require the computer programming through the Tazer or dealer. Also, for 2020 and newer JLs, you don't need to have the wire harness as they come with 4 wires now from what I understand.

      Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with the 21 models that got the upgraded wiring harness. But I have read in the JL wrangler forums that it’s plug and play. You would just need the programming to avoid hyper flashing. With that said, both headlights would need 4 wires. So you might need to find where the 4th wire is on the passenger side, or run a wire from the driver side. It’s all just one long wire that connects both and to the connector.

      It’s literally just 3 wires about 13 feet in length to connect the two front halos to the power box on the passenger side so think of a Y cable connecting the front lights to that box inside the cabin footwell. You can also buy a harness from a guy on the wranglerforums that just connect the halos to power. I’m not sure if he’s still selling them but he did for a few years. Just search for Wrangler halo harness. But most dealers should be able to order it. Call a parts department and see if they can help you. Thanks!

    Great video. I got the Oracle Oculus LEDs and they were a really simple install. The halo wire for them can tap into a standing fuse (like the cigarette lighter) so that they are on with the ignition. Wondering if that fourth wire on the Mopars could do the same. Would be much simpler and wouldn't need a reflash.

    I have a problem can someone help me. My jeep gladiator twenty twenty two came with halogen headlights. However I have installed mopar l e d headlights. Driver side works perfect, But the passenger site doesn't work, Well the halo doesn't work, I figured out that the problem is because the passenger side only has three wires going to the headlight. Whereas the driver side has four wires. Luckily that harness is blog and play. Technically I can just replace the wire harness. However when I call dealers to buy it they don't understand what i'm talking about. They cannot sell me the one that comes with four wires. Can someone help me please figure out where I can buy it.

      You have to buy a wiring harness from MOPAR/JEEP, you can find them online by searching for Wiring-Jumper Part #68347117AB or go to the dealer. There are also many alternatives to either make your own or buy a pre-made one. Check out the Wrangler Forums and search for DRL wiring harness. If you go with the OEM version, you will need something like the Tazer JL Mini to program LED/DRL lights.

    Do you need a led conversion to install this?

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  2 роки тому +1

      This is to install the Mopar (OEM) factory LED headlights. This video was to get the HALO ring around the headlights working which required additional wiring to get it to work. Only applies to 18-20 JL Wranglers, because after 2020 Jeep began to include the missing wire. This also requires changing the programming in the ECU from halogen lights to LED lights to prevent hyper blinking or flashing.

    • @DeeperImageAutomotive
      @DeeperImageAutomotive  2 роки тому +1

      Its all the same harness for the headlights and Halos. I'm using the OEM Mopar headlights, so its just a 4 pin/wire harness that plugs right in. I have an 18 JL which only had 3 wires/pins, that's why I had to buy the HALO kit from Mopar which adds the 4th pin and 4th wire to make the Halos work. If you have a 2021 or newer JL, it already comes with the correct harness, so you just have to source the lights and program it for LED lights.
