yea he definitely went hard, but at the same time i think his previous card choices were a bit too obvious, he was mostly trying to show an insane card and get the players to tell him it's bad, but it's easy for a card player to spot an insane card no matter what card game they're playing, so i like this card selection better
@@dmike3507 Ah yeah, didn't think of pokemon. But from the card games I've played which is a lot, HS certainly is the easiest by quite a bit. Nothing wrong with that tho, just a lot easier to evaluate as a regular card game player.

Hillarious how Mogwai was happy he predicted Bullwark was good cuz it might block off "some damage" if you wanna stall. Then Rarran tells him it's good cuz apparently in Hearthstone you can get your face casually nuked for 200 damage in one go and you can see the shock in Mogwai's face
I just want to say, I absolutely love this series. Either you guessing other game’s cards or having guests guess hearthstone cards. I love the insights and explanations
Just show's that Mogwai and other top tier card players know their card game mechanics, would you love to see a game built purely off of the top card game players feedback.
I discovered this channel yersteday and i'm already pretty hooked to this kind of content. Seeing big faces from other games or retired players trying to guess if cards are real/ good is so entertaining, you can discover little gems of trivia about the metas of HS/ MTG/ LoR on top of having lovable figures of the CCG community interracting with each other. I'd really like to see Noxious appear on this show one day.
You're doing great at bringing HS and LoR together. PS. Silas isn't usually used for stealing big stuff as the main goal. Most decks that run him usually play him to give sabotaging minion to opponent.
When LoR finally release sylas champ to the game, my brain will never forget and only see silas dorkmoon instead. That card effect and VA is so wacky lmao
There was a period of time people used Silas in otk warrior deck. They stack up the armor to 30+, use Silas to push one mana 1-4 minion with "deal damage to this minion also deal that amount of damage to your hero" to opponent side, then use shield slam to kill that minion also win that game.
@@lingo4375 Yes Silas was good against Rattlegore but there are better ways for other non-combo decks to deal with it (There are lots of priests with soul mirror and silences at the time). Silas was played against Rattlegore or big minions (Liadrin Libram decks) are mostly because that they're already put Silas in their deck for the combo main goal, not really intend to put it solely as tech card. I played OTK shieldslam back then and played Silas in CW matchups as win-con because there was no way I'm gonna shieldslam CW to death. Stealing stuff with Silas was more like by-product of playing Silas combo.
Wow, hearthstone has some really weird cards. I really liked the lorekeeper card. I think that card would be really really good in Runeterra. Knowing exactly what I'm gonna draw is really good. As always really nice video, you've got Snnuy and now Mogwai. Get Grapplr next please
Yes. Love these videos. :) One of the interesting things with HS vs LoR I guess is, that stats work very differently. In HS if you have a big stat-stick your opponent needs to deal with it or they take a lot of damage. In LoR, if it doesnt have evasion (Overwhelm, fearsome, elusive) you really dont care about a big unit, you can block it as long as you have at least a 0/1 to throw in front of it. Also stuff that "swings" multiple units in one action are very good in LoR (e.g. House-spider, Arachnoid Sentry), while in HS, it really doesnt matter, since you can spend your entire mana in one go anyway.
Mogwai and Rarran!! I love this series. You're bringing in so many good content creators from LoR. He was so spot on with his analysis too. I could definitely see him making a Vandar Stormpike deck.
Man these are some merciless picks that you have here, Rarran! I'm gotta say I'm pretty stoked to see Mega Mogwai. Last time I saw him, he was my go-to guy for Duelyst. RIP Duelyst, you were a great game and you will be missed.
This actually is mildly relevant today. If a Druid gets a copy of it with Moonlit Guidence, it is not active. You'd have to essentially have to have 10 mana, play moonlit, get the copy, play the copy, then get the real one with moonlit's effect, then play THAT one to finally get the effect. Fortunately you're Druid, so it's really not hard to get to 10 mana between wild growths and guff. Unfortunately you're playing druid, which is just not a great class at the time of this comment.
Damn you got the man himself, Mogwai is literally my favorite content creator and I’ve been watching UA-cam religiously for 13 years. Can’t wait to see this video
Even if you could add three Vanndars into your deck, the effect could only go off once you would have drawn the others. There once was a Tavern Brawl, where you drew a 1 mana card on turn 1, a 2 mana card on turn 2 etc., it was perfect for a questline priest vanndar deck - instantly drawing the reduced cost minions was a game winner, only barely did I win with the quest! But yeah, in normal games, when you simply cannot draw him early enough, we all know what that means.
At this point Rarran creating collabs that Marvel only could dream of. IDK what's next, maybe he would start colliding realms like "Oh, ok, so I took MTG player and LoR player and now they would try to guess each other cards"
23:58 "Cause the meta is to fast" Spot on... i mean most games end on turn 5/6/7/8 . Unless your playing against a control deck, but there the value that this card provides is not the right one. So you end up with a card that sees no play.(Make kalecgos discover a spell at the end of each of YOUR turns) and then it will see some play. This guy did a good job considering how hard some cards were. Great video,do more of these
You know, i used to watch MegaMogwai years ago when he did his draftleague style pokemon stuff, mostly because he was one of those guys that just showed up in leagues many of the pokemon creators i watched back then were also in. I remember him being pretty good at it so I'm not too surprised to see he moved to becoming a content creator for cardgames.
Hey Rarran, another game show idea is challenging people to lethal puzzles. You could even make people go head to head trying to find the most efficient lethal with the given cards. The boomsday lethal puzzles were so fun I always wished people made more of them!
Silas was huge combo activator. I remember using him in that op control warr where you just give enemy the 1/4 that took dmg to your face and shield slam it and I think in druid it was also used for some combo. its basically neutral treachery thats really broken effect
I just want to mention here that Vanndar actually sees meta play rn in Big Beast Hunter, as the better list of the 2 abuses Pet collector and Vanndar together with the secret package for early game. dredge and tracking really helps.finding an early vanndar :3
I genuinely don't know what Rarran has against Tickatus. That card saw an absolute fuckton of play when it was in the pool, and was in a bunch of the meta decks.
Because the card was super meh in the decks it was played in. The only worthwhile corruptor you ever had in the deck was Mallicia since the only other high costs were Nethers (a reactive card) or Yshaarj (a card that does literally nothing if you play it before Tickatus). Warlock was good at stomping out aggro decks due to the insane amount of healing and removal which this card does literally nothing against. This card had the POTENTIAL to win combo match ups, but a deck like lifesteal DH was way faster than you drawing this AND the corruptor AND Yshaarj to mill 10.

Ulthok is actually surprisingly good. Especially in curse deck once you've gotten em around 15 if you drop ulthok they'll usually put themselves within curse lethal range like dummies. If you think about it depending on enemy health it basically means your opponent can't take a full turn or may have to pass entirely to stay out of lethal range. And an opponent whiffing a turn by turn 5-7 is 100% a game changing event.
Messed up on some clips! Hope you still enjoy the video!
