@@Snnuywell it good when you know who you face. But int rank you often run into arggo anyway. If Lor have side deck and 3 match i could saw this in the side deck for sure
Rarran was actually right about Early bird. It is a really good card in Norra ED and should be main decked x2 or x3 as it beats a lot of competitive deck wincons (Warmother's call, ED, mordekaiser, Mihira). Would actually give the card 3/5 in general, but currently it is really strong. Norra has plenty of card draw and your win con is often to outvalue opponent hand.
I've been running into board buff decks in tournaments and queue and Early Bird isn't as good as straight up removal when you're in a tight spot and that happens often if you don't find a million removal spells
I couldn't have guessed how broken Heisho would be with that text. Sorry for the unrelated reply, but your name and pfp seems really familiar... were you in the doodled/atomic friend group a few years back? If so, hi! Small world
When I played Norra/ED, Early Bird felt clutch sometimes, because against Morde you kinda need to discard either the champ or Rekindler, otherwise you will never get rid of them when the game gets longer.
The biggest problem with evaluating cards from other card games than the one you are playing is the mechanical differences and slight knowledge of the card database. Just like cards with passive effects that are activated conditionally, but the unit has to survive on the table for a while, they are not very popular in Hearstone simply because of the possibility of trading with units for this type of goals. In LoR there is no such simple option (only thanks to Challenger), which is why statistics play a slightly smaller role than in games where the opponent can deal with your units thanks to his units. This also automatically increases the value of remowali, where remowali in LoR, which may be tragic from the point of view of an HS player, is actually very good. For example, Vengeance, where in HS a single target removable for 7 mana would be unplayable crap, but in LoR it is a solid answer.
First, thanks for the clarification on how you cooked up the riven morgana deck. The setup you have for the deck runs smoother without Weapon Hilt! Second, Not sure if you’ll see this, but I know a deck that might be really fun to play. Not sure how to cook it up, but it includes Mordekaiser, the Camavoran Dragon, and the Necrotic Arachnoid. They all have effects that drain from the enemy nexus when units die. Thought it would be a really cool concept. Maybe pair with Freljord for titanic support since Mord and the Arachnoid are titanic? Not sure how the deck would be cooked up, but having those 3 in it might be a lot of fun! Not competitive, but definitely fun
What do you think about doing more vids after some time in expansion? When meta is more resolved? The first video has a lot of mistakes because the strength of the cards isn't resolved, but waiting more times is meh (these videos are very interesting TBH, so you want to watch them as fast as you can).
Early Bird is a strong enough card. Yes it's match up dependent a bit, but in many cases their most expensive card is going to be their most valuable one, like one of their Champions, even better if they do something to draw that champion first. Rarran is right in that, it's not one of those cards that are obvious it's why you win a game, for 2 mana it can take out big threats before they're threats. It's Aloof Travelers in spell form, without the risk of giving them a card they might want.
If there's ever an etc manager - like card in runeterra, early bird is going in it. (Etc allows you to choose 3 cards when deck building and put one of them in your hand on play) I think the main issue is that ranked inherently favours aggro, and it's bad against aggro, but if there's a mode besides tournaments that heavily rewards winning% rather than wins/hour, it's gonna see play there.
I agree with raran on early bird , i win tons of games by discarding mordekaiser or big meatballs . The downside is i sometimes discarded ed in this meta
Early bird is the definition of win more card, you play it when you are ahead and you delay their wincons or comebacks. The only reason why early bird is so good in Norra ED right now is that it often provide extra value rather then just discarding one card from the opponent, for example it reduce cost of plaza guardian and bubblefish. And the portal from Norra can avoid the tempo lost from playing the card, yes the card might not be like 1/5 bad, but it's definitely not so good as some comment said just because it's being play in pro plays
Kingfisher though is a 10,000/5 if you can pull it off Clash of Giants though. Probably the 2nd or absolute best pull from CoG probably only challenged by Cithria LoC. It's genuinely probably impossible to lose if you can pull Kingfisher off Clash of Giants
Haven't played Runeterra in a while, so I could be basing my reviews off of archaic knowledge. My ratings, before Rarran and Snnuy reveal: Red-barbed Razormace: 3.5/5. Solid stats. Curse puts the opponent on a soft timer if fighting against a tempo-midrange aggro type deck. Barbara: 1.5/5. Lucky Find is not a great payoff, especially if on an empty board. Honest Croupier: 1/5 Feels awkward and requires too much commitment for low payoff. Deathgrasp Cultist: 1/5. Chemtech Drake: 1/5. If you expend a spell to draw a card, you won't get the nexus damage. Maybe nab synergy or interaction with fleeting cards. Heisho: 5/5. The effect seems bonkers, especially if there are good burst or fast spells to work with it. Spectral Ironhound: 4/5. So many ways to have small tokens or reviving cards. Seems like a really good topend curve for an aggressive or midrange deck. Mageseeker Inquisitor: 3/5. Can be annoying for some decks to face but not too much of a setback. Can see this be a card you'd cut in refinement. Early Bird: 2.5/5. I'm conflicted on this card. Against lategame/control decks, this seems bonkers. Against faster decks, its a pseudo 1-for-1. Kingfisher: 3/5. This one is tough. Card draw, especially for champions seems good, and rally is good. But is it strong enough at 9 mana? Probably deck specific. Now time to see how I did. Edit: That pre-hotfix interaction with Chemtech Drake is something I would have not anticipated. I misread Heisho reading it as the first spell you play, but first card is crazy too. Ironhound interactions sound really cool. Man I'm so behind the times in this game. Inquisitor. Of course there is a way to abuse it. I should probably read up on Mordekaiser. Not surprised for the last 2 cards.
