i second that on cassette beasts and the soundtrack is absolute fire
I really hope they optimize it better for low budget laptops. Literally minutes after starting the game, at town my fps drops to 20 and it's unplayable. My laptop plays titanfall2 at 50fps average so idk
You skipped Anode Heart!
That is probably the best on the list TBH, by far my best surprise in the last year.
Felt like I was playing a love letter to the monster taming community, it had so many references and inspiration from other titles in the genre.
Especially the original Digimon games, it really nailed that same feeling they gave you back in the day.
Yeah he missed quite a few games. It became this thing where if it was in his steam library or not. Was kind of annoying and not all games that have monster taming in it aren't under the creature collector tag. Like the Persona games.
temtem what i keep reading in the several reviews and some discussions is the player drop / grind is far more atrocious than others.
Temtem has a pretty good grind if you're leveling different types. The story is very meh. I've put around 30 hours in and still haven't finished it. Got boring when i got to the 3rd region.
to be fair, temtem is getting its 'mmo' design pulled out, so it might be a good place to drop in
@@vexedIrl temtem was barely an mmo to begin with. And their mtx were outrageous.
@@gleipnirrrwhat mmo design? Lmao
If they add an offline mode, I'll put it on my wishlist.
The laugh as you see Chair F****** Simulator at 6:30. Gold.
The Digimon cyber sleuth collection has 2 full games in it, and it is 100% worth it if it's under $40.
Hackers memory is the better game of the 2
My top 5 would definitely be (in order): 1) Anode Heart (damn, damn good), Cassette Beasts, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, Digimon Next Order, and SMT.
All great games, didn't really see anything else that caught my eye.
But I haven't played much of the newer ones like Moonstone or Palworld so they could still be contenders..
this is a pretty good sale. But I'll only touch temtem when or if they add a full offline mode.
here here to offline EVERYTHING MODE. im sick of this online stuff. in 10 years when that server is dead, now i cant play that game? so shortsighted. if mario 64 was online, no one today could enjoy it and all the cool stuff been done to it. all this privacy and online stuff is actualyl ruining games
Rune factory 5 is a great game, though monster taming is only a part of it, kinda like dragon quest 5, but you can tame all the monsters including bosses.
It's a solo game and you can get overpowered easily if you use the mechanics cleverly.
Imo the best thing is that everything you do is making your character better, watering plants makes your water affinity and thus water spells more powerful.
Basically if you want a stardew valley but with more rpg combat and rideable tamed monsters, it's probably a good pick
The monsters can also help out with farming.
Cassette Beasts is well worth it folks! Get it now while it's on sale.
ive been in forum threads regarding various tags, and there arr people that would argue against more specific tags just because it would be redundant inspite the given tag is bloated with things not fitting to the intended genre
Fair point but changing the tag to Monster Taming would actually be a better tag for that exact reason
@@gabekeeter6415 indeed it would be. but people would be insufferable at times
I wonder if there's any way for us to give feedback to steam on games that doesn't fit a certain tag. Cleaning up the existing tag would be easier (better?) than creating a new one
Yeah I feel like there is quite a few monster tamer game that aren't under creature collector because it doesn't really fit monster tamer. Like the Persona games and Shin Megami Tensei 5.
@@odnankenobi that would be a great idea.
I don't think you've talked about it, but patch quest is on sale for 3 bucks, it's a great little monster taming metroidvania roguelike-ish (you go back to the start but keep monster taming experience and map discovery on death) bullet hell game.
The capture mechanic by lassoing is great imo.
It's not a huge game, if you know stuff like forager, expect that.
Thank you for the recs. If you do this again can you please find a way to zoom in on what you're looking at since it was difficult for me to see the games even at fullscreen?
I finished Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth lately. I very much recommend it. It has a really great story.
Finally got Cassete Beasts :D
I got Cassette Beasts, absolutely loving it. It was worth the wait for the sale. Having a blast with it. Also got Patch Quest.
Cyber Sleuth Cyber Story is great, really like both games. Rune Factory 4 is also fantastic, but 5 is an unfortunate misstep.
It was the "Pokemon Colosseum" music for me, Personally.
I would highly recommend dice folk if you like rogue likes. It’s got a really fun and interesting battle system and super cool monsters that have abilities that really come into play in the battles and make each run unique
Don't care if it's repetitive,! Keep em coming!
Love this video gym leader Ed can't wait for your next video.
I hate how this became games on my library for the most part. Ooblets is a monster tamer and plays a lot like moonstone island. Ooblets is a sweet baby like game, but it is nowhere as apparent as Moonstone Island or Cassette Beasts. Ooblets and Moonstone Island have really solid and interesting gameplay. While the most interesting thing about Cassette Beasts is the infinite fusion. So if you don't want to support games that just try to tick esg boxes to get good reviews from outlets like IGN. Don't buy them.
The Persona games are monster Tamers with a lot of life and they are on sale Persona 3 Reloaded, Persona 5 Royal and Persona 4 Golden.
Also if you don't want to see hentai games Gym Leader ED you can go turn on the filter that is on by default from what I understand.
Thank you for the warning about Cassette Beasts. I was considering buying it on sale. Still considering it, but I like to be informed about the political carp in games.
1:30 and yet I feel like you would sometimes say stuff like "hey it's a zoo, they have animals/monster taming, bam"^^
Well thank you for the video.
What's like the closest game to pokemon XD and colloseum
The Persona games tbh are the closest thing out there and both Persona 5 Royal and Persona 3 Reloaded are on sale. I love the colosseum games and wish Nintendo would re-release them on switch already definitely missing out on some easy money. I buy them for Myself, My Wife and Kids.
My heart broke when i saw that Coromon hit rock bottom, and now they've gotta lower the price to 10 DOLLARS, like rip.
And btw thank you for doing more marketing for Coromon than Coromon itself, maybe someday it will return to it's original popularity. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
£0.49 on cdkeys
You missed monster crown at the very end, its 3 usd currently
Got some games, but honestly just waiting for yaolings to be released.
"My lovely Wife"... "Monster collector"
Lol wtf.
digimon CS is by far the best, but it greatly helps if you know how to mod it. And not many people seem to know about it sadly despite it even works online.
It always bugs me sometimes that they put games that had only a fracture of the capture mechanics and still be put up with any monster taming games, which is the main focus. Hogwarts Legacy is a good example. Even though you could capture beasts and put them in your areas, you'd unlock as you progress the game for your Room of Requirement. But it is not the main focus, plus you could only do so much, like feeding, petting, breeding, getting materials from them, and even selling them.
It's a great open world game for Harry Potter fans and RPG fans a like, but I wouldn't recommend anyone who is only interested in the monster aspect.
Hi, please make a video about "Pokemon-like" games that aren't completely Pokemon games, but just have similar mechanics. Because on the channel you often talk about updates on "some raw projects with 0 potential", and about conditional WOW I never heard. While there are 1400 pets, many different options for obtaining them (just catch in nature, do achievements/quests, go through raids, etc. ). At the same time, there are also dungeons, there are battles with npc and there is pvp.
Pickup Coromon. It's exactly what you're looking for.
Just bought monster sanctuary. Loving it
You've done so much showcasing monster taming games, and have gotten me to buy a few myself. You should do discount codes with GOG or other sites or even just affiliate links with no discounts so you can get compensated for the marketing work you're doing for these devs and purchasing platforms!
Next Order was my favorite Digimon game, only thing I didn't like was how your Digimon would die every hour or so and you had to raise them all over again, big waste of time.
tried temtem, first hour is just walking from trainer to trainer. Like a pokemon route has some trainers, now just do that for an entire hour as your intro to the game. That not great first impression mixed with all the controversy surrounding it yeah I just noped right out and refunded.
Yayyy sale!
Awww... I saw monster sale on the vid but it's only on seam (pc) and not on Nintendo switch
Switch might also have a sale. July is a big month. Check it out
@@chaos-x7082 I'll do that. Wish me luck
Well, some game on the list are in nintendo switch too and on sale right now like cassette beast and digimon cyber sleuth is on sale too I think.
Soul Hackers 2 at 75% off seems appropriate. I adored the first back in the day and the second is the most bland thing Atlus has released in years.
6:22 bro how did you know it's an hentai game💀💀💀💀
what the sigma 💀
Not finding this particularly useful. You've spent the first 2 minutes rambling and you spend the rest of the vid scrolling through the same list everyone else can. I would've far preferred you making a curated list of what you think are the best discounts. It would've been more effort but far more valuable.
I mean the title of this video is 'Creature Collector Steam Summer Sale 2024' which is why he is recommending games to potentially buy or be of interest on Steam. Check out his other original videos like Monster Taming Direct if you are looking for a curated list
ED WASSUP. HAVE YOU PLAYED THE DIGIMON ADVENTURE PSP GAME ENG TRANS. ITS BASICALLY THE OG SEASON 1 STORY AS A RPG. 3d graphics makes dawn dusk look like shite
