my ears still hear a big difference between AI and real voices. AI voices always sound a little auto tuned and sing differently than how the real singer would in terms of note holding and stuff like that.
@@MrDoomsdayBomb yes ofc but it doesnt necessarily capture how the original artist sings, only their voice. unless ai learns improvisation, ppl can still make their own versions of the song instead and then change the voice, but still the real artist's improvisation/version of singing a certain song will always be better

If you're talking about things like inflection, tone, rhythm, emotion, then if they can be captured digitally, then an ai can do that as well. If you're talking about the entire creative process that goes into songmaking, then yeah the ai will obviously be different to the person because what goes on in the mind of a person is different to what goes on in the weights and architecture of an ai. This is a descriptive claim that's easy to make. However, you're making an evaluative one that the human version will always be 'better', and as far as evaluative claims go, they're not necessarily set in stone.

With ai covers you'd really expect it to be so close to the original song that is covered. But the original voice will always be superior imo
