- Over two months ago, 17-year-old Addison Bethea was viciously attacked by a shark. The Florida teen was out searching for scallops when a shark suddenly attacked her right leg. Thankfully, her older brother swam to her rescue. Bethea credits her brother with saving her life by tying a tourniquet before she bled out. Surgeons did their best. It's incredible how she could survive this attack and it's lovely to see her start to learn to walk again

Prosthetics have come such a long way, I wish her a speedy recovery, the wounds may be healing but there is always a little more recovery to achieve.

Obviously feel terrible for anyone that has had an accident where they lose a limb and I can't imagine how difficult it is for her. I lost the full use of my right arm after breaking my neck and that's proved difficult enough for me over the years. I'm extremely glad she got her new prosthetic, especially so quickly as there's alot of people who unfortunately never get one because they don't have the best health insurance and aren't wealthy or famous which shouldn't matter but realistically it does. Wish her the best of luck.
When a human dies by a shark, its almost like the whole world is notified. It's such a rare way to die, and it's just puts everything into perspective

I promise ocean swimming is completely safe, it’s EXTREMELY rare to get attacked by a shark. Nobody should go far out but I went swimming in the ocean a couple months ago and didn’t go deeper than higher than my waist..I’m not saying you have to, obviously but just know you’ll be fine!
@@zoefoley6818 I love the ocean. I was just fishing in cocoa and saw a shark come right up to me. Had to backup lol. 1 foot of water literally. Always a chance to get attacked :)

A great idea if you broke a bone and you live in America you can just make a homemade cast instead of spending 12,000 for a cast
It’s insane. If you’ve ever seen an American hospital bill broken down before… it’s disturbing. I was charged money to take my own medicine. As in my own pills that were from home. They charged me money for that.
Some men in India and Bangladesh can make a prothetic arm or leg for less than 10 dollars and it works well.
This is just corporation greedy taking advantage of every situation for maximum profit.
