I like NOS when it first came in the plastic bottle with I believe it had 365mg of caffeine in it "I was on cloud nine" when I drank that NOS back then I wish they kept the blue plastic bottle because it stood out from the rest of the energy drinks. Now I wish the energy drinks were in a 355ml can not the 473ml can with less sodium and sugar in them too because of health reasons I have to cut back on drinking them now. ☹

I prefer zero calorie drinks, but original NOS is probably my favorite energy drink of all time. I love the taste. I've also had the green apple (sour sonic) flavor and I liked that as well.

Oh yeah, they definitely differentiated themselves from the other big companies. When you taste NOS, you know its a NOS product, which is great for branding and probably why its been around so long. People like NOS for NOS.

As i've said on a comment to you before, NOS gives me ton of nostalgia from drinking it when i was young with my friends (probably too young to have energy drinks lol). My favorite are the original and the yellow citrus. Do they not have that one anymore? Mango actually sounds amazing, never seen that one before

I tried out NOS Energy for the first time recently and you’re right, the smell of the orange/tangerine is strong! And when I tasted it, it’s got a really good orange/tangerine taste to it and possibly some pineapple in there too!
Fantastic video, good sir! NOS Original and Full Throttle are my drinks of choice. I actually worked in a Coca-Cola bottling plant for a few years (2016 -2019) and I used to both batch and do QC on NOS and Full Throttle. I literally never had an energy drink before I worked there. We would do an energy drink run about every other month. Omg, that stuff was a pain in the butt to mix because there were so many ingredients, special mixing instructions, and heavy lifting. It took about 4 hours to make a single tank of syrup, so you could only do two per shift (compared to 4 or 5 batches of other Coke products on a normal day). It was happy days in the plant when we ran it though. Most of the guys on the floor *loved* that stuff and would stash a few cases to last in between runs. Lolz. We made Original, GT Grape, and a few sugar free ones (that I can't recall) at the time. Can't recall if we made mango, because I love mango and would have definitely tried it. The Full Throttle was the original citrus flavor. I see this video came out a few years ago. Weirdly I just had my first Sonic Sour a few days ago, and just this morning tried a Venom mango I picked up while looking for the Sonic Sour flavor. Pretty much agreed with all your ratings, but obviously with original getting a slight edge as my favorite. One other weird thing about NOS... Our plant also made Dr. Pepper (our facility could do the mini 7.5oz aluminum cans and the local Dr. Pepper plant couldn't, so they sub-contracted it out to us). Anyhoo, I noticed everyone at the plant was either a Dr. Pepper person *or* a NOS person. People who liked one couldn't stand the other. Even at my house, my wife loves Dr. Pepper and thinks NOS is gross. I'm the exact opposite. In the QC lab, we knew who like which, so when we had to do TOA (Taste, Odor, Appearance) tests, we would switch out to whoever normally liked each, regardless of what the production line you were covering was running. Lol!! As for the 54g of sugar: yeah I try to limit myself to one can a day (or none). I'm only half joking when people ask me about it and I hold up the can and say, "NOS! _Come_ for the tooth decay. _Stay_ for the diabetes!!". The started making NOS Zero Sugar again, but I can't *stand* sucralose.

Nos was the first energy drink I ever tried and I’ve always loved them. They were definitely a lot more cool back in the day with the fancy bottles. To this day though grape nos is my go to energy drink. There’s something about it that I absolutely love.
Respect for dressing orange and blue for nos review.... citrus was the second best to original... then it disappeared.... sonic sour is liquid jolly rancher and turns my stomach... and I drink energy drinks more than I should so thats a significant statement.

Nos is one of my favorites. The original tastes great and actually gives me a boost. The grape might be my favorite energy drink but I don’t have it much because of the sugar.
nos original, in my opinion, is hands down the best energy drink there is. i’ve tried so many energy drinks and by far nos original is everything i like in an energy drink. i prefer it over the mango even though it’s a close second. great video! 👏🏼

Yeah I noticed the change in the Cherry NOS It never tasted like that before I guess the did change the ingredients. Cherry NOS before being bought by Monster was the most delicious cherry carbonated drink I ever drank.
the "smoke" is acutally gas, and its the c02 that puts the bubbles in the drink, pretty much every carbonated drink the world have the ability to do that, its just a matter of temperature between the inside of the can/bottle and the outside temperature in the air
I use to drink these drinks all the time when they first came out and really liked them a lot. Now I don't drink them anymore mainly because of all the sugar in them and not enough caffeine for me. I pretty much drink just bang now because they have no sugar and more caffeine. I just don't like all the sugar you get in NOS and you do get a lot if you drink the whole can which most people will do.
I’ve tried all but the original,sugar free,and mango varieties..Recently tried the Power punch and I thought it was pretty good! Although I didn’t drink the whole can because how of much sugar are in these..Made sure to definitely drink some water after I was done with it! I usually stick with sugar free drinks so trying a Nos is very rare for me..

You forgot one caffeine man! There’s a sugar free NOS but can only find them at select stores. I’ve found them mostly at Delta Sonic (western New York gas station/car wash) and Truenorth/Shell gas stations

CaffeineMan ah crap there it is. I found it at the 7:30 mark haha. It tastes like the regular NOS, just not nearly as sweet. It does have a weird taste. I’m actually going to pick one up tomorrow morning haha. I actually like it and I’ll crave it from time to time when I get bored of coffee/other drinks
Funnily enough nos energy has nothing but the logo shared with the Holley company I’m surprised they actually got away with using the logo and nitros oxide colours for so long
Nos and Venom are totally 2 of my number 1 favorite energy drinks. My second favorite is Monster. They are also they only ones that I really drink. If I choose just one tho, it would definitely be Nos.
I wish I didnt care about sugar either. I care about it so much, I love it. But then I have to hate it. But I hate how much I love it! If I still exercised, like I did back in the day, I might not worry about it as much because I could burn it off. But, nope, not anymore. For the rating system it’s probably best to have 1 rating for the proprietary flavor and 1 separate one for the best flavor of the brand. I think it’s probably the best to have a comprehensive understanding yet still be showable when brought up
I will! I also might go for some healthier choices like Monster Absolute Zero or Rockstar recovery. They may not be super healthy but they don’t have as much sugar

I’ve always found the original nos flavor to definitely be citrusy, but more grapefruit than orange. Think Fresca brotha.... Thanks for the great work giving a “CAF-FIEND” (did I just name your fan base ?!!👌🏽a check is fine! 😉) another solid “Caffeine Man Flava Scale Report” . I have a request though! Please consider giving us out here utilizing the drinks for that get up and go in the morning or even as a pre workout some ❤️ and direction in our quest to stay caffeinated! Drinks like c4 are actually formulated with bodybuilding/performance supplements like beta alanine and betaine. What I’m saying is that a Caffeine Man scale describing the perceived and functional performance results like energy boost, vasodilation(pump) and focus (c4 does include nootropics). This would be both useful and entertaining for a very solid demographic that may already be watching and enjoying your vids like I do! Keep doing your thang Caffeine Man!
Thanks for the advice Thad!!! I dont really think I have a large enough fan based to begin finding names for them 😂. Even if I did, I dont thinkI could choose a name. Id have to let all you come up with it on your own. I still find the concept of 'me' having 'fans' a bit outrageous. That being said, I like your thoughts on the chart and heres what I originally had in my head. 2 charts. One for the taste test and one for the healthiness of the drink. I figured these 2 things were important to everyone. In thinking about the healthiness, which I feel is similar to your suggestions for energy boosting and focus, it is easier said than done. Basically, how do we rate the healthiness? Which ingredients are better than others? And how do they really work? For example. Is a drink with 200% Vitamin B better than 100%? Some might say yes, but in actuality, anything over 100% for the day gets flushed out. Just that simple example makes it complex for every ingredient in the drink. Do you know what the healthiest drink on the planet is? Its water. WATER! I mean, it makes sense because we need it to live....but what health macros does it have? Does it have vitamins? Does i caffeine? Does it have anything beside H2O? No. So why is it so healthy. The second healthiest drink is green tea. TONS of antioxidants and health benefits! So, is an energy drink that uses green tea extract more healthy than a drink that has BCAA's, Creatine and electolytes? How do you weigh those things? Not to mention that each ingredient effects each person differently. Some people can have Beta Alanine other people cant because they get itchy. These are just a couple of the MANY issues I had when I tried to figure out the logistics of a "healthy" meter/chart. Therefore, I went with just the flavor chart based on how I think they taste and if people disagree, thats fine because its just my opinion. A health chart would have to be backed by science and its too big of a venture for me to take on. Hope that helps!!! Appreciate the suggestion though!
Noo, sonic sour should have been higher. I tried it almost a year ago and have been hooked ever since. I do however agree with the coconut redbull rating, it's normally my go to.
I can understand people that like the Sours because its definitely Sour. Me, personally, not a huge fan of sour. But yeah, that Coconut Red Bull...whoa!
NOS Mango and Original are two of my favorite tasting energy drinks. But they are sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, giving them a traditionally subtle fruit soda flavor.
Yeah, they definitely have a lot of sugar and when it comes to energy drinks, one of the few energy drinks that still use high fructose corn syrup. Most use Glucose, Sucrose or some other form of sugar(other than High Fructose Corn Syrup). Most likely because it originated as a Coke product before being taken over by Monster.
CaffeineMan - I dislike the all or nothing approach of energy drinks when it comes to sugar. I wish they would develop a brand that cuts the sugar content in half.
@@BobbyCarbonKJV Agreed. Its either no sugar energy drinks of 56 grams of sugar. The only was Ive seen lower sugar is Red Bull and thats only because its an 8oz can. The 16oz can is the same as a Monster. There are a couple of drinks that have 30grams, but its few and far between. Like the Monster Hydros.
CaffeineMan - My whole family warns me that energy drinks are extremely harmful for me. But I contend that most energy drinks are a double-edged sword; being simultaneously good and bad for us. I believe they are only bad if we have a preexisting medical condition. Or if we're using energy drinks to substitute food, water, and/or sleep; of which I have a bad habit of doing just that. Of course, I've consumed caffeine ever since early childhood and have a relatively high tolerance for it. Sometimes I would have a Rockstar sitting on my nightstand and I would sip it throughout the night every time I wake up to use the bathroom; before going back to sleep. The original Rockstars seem to have the highest carbonation content since I could slowly drink one over the course of 6 to 8 hours out of the can, and it would still have a significant amount of carbonation. The same can not be said of regular soda. If I tried to do the same with a coca cola or Pepsi, they would have long gone flat and lost their appeal. I actually prefer the throat burning effects of highly carbonated water. Which is why I enjoy mineral water with an extremely high carbonation. Sometimes, I mix half a bottle of carbonated mineral water with an Original Rockstar to reduce the sweetness. That's the only way I can think of to reduce the sweetness; whilst maintaining the carbonation. If there are energy drinks that you like but are too high in sugar, I recommend mixing them with carbonated mineral water until you find the desired taste.
CaffeineMan it taste ok. It has a grapefruit/citrus flavor, classic sugar free energy drink flavor (if that makes any sense). Has a good flavor up front but has a slight after taste. If you find it I would give a try.

Welllll....I think they all actually used a little bit of Sucralose. They just didnt cover it up as well in the Cherry one. But, yeah, Im getting accustomed to it now. An energy drink connosuer. My mom would be so proud.
Nos original is the best energy drink of all time I want them to get a line installed strait from the factory to my house to run it out of the water button on my refrigerator.

Is that a limited Edition one? I didnt see it in stores anywhere. Apparently Walmart and Lowes has it (from a super fast google search). Id like to try it.
To the best of my knowledge it was discontinued several months ago. You might still be able to find cans online, but they will be approaching best by dates. It was more of a candied cherry or a maraschino cherry flavor. Most likely it will be re-branded under a similarly named nos flavor .
I remember a few years ago NOS partnered with NASCAR driver Kyle Busch to make another flavor called “Rowdy” which in my mind tastes like they took the power punch and mixed it with a candy strawberry. It’s not bad but I’ve trying to get healthier so I’ve been sticking with the sugar free drinks.

I do miss the old bottles of NOS, reminds me of the actual Nitrous Oxide Systems bottles. I do use the original for gaming/exercise and college (Not mango but give it a shot). Do you mean what do I do with the energy drinks or just the energy? Any that I like, I put into plastic bags and put into the fridge. As for just the energy, it’s not too bad. I only take a mouthful of each so it’s like I’m really only having one drink. As for shelves, I’m already overstocked and can’t fit them all. In the process of remodeling with more shelves in the way. A few weeks out.

260mgs in the original version many years ago. The bottle changed in 20-5, I believe. What are the better cherry flavors than this? ALL of them😂 Some of my favorites were by C4 (they had a couple) and the new GFuel.
The Game Fuel cherry was decent. Kroger has a cherry one called Bing that I 'heard' is good. Havent had a chance to try it yet. 7/11 just started carrying C4, so if you have one near you, you can keep an eye out there. And Circle K has the Joker Cherry Lime, which I thought was pretty good as well. Not Midnight Cherry C4 good, but still good.

I tried out NOS Energy for the first time recently and you’re right, the smell of the orange/tangerine is strong! And when I tasted it, it’s got a really good orange/tangerine taste to it and possibly some pineapple in there too!

Fantastic video, good sir! NOS Original and Full Throttle are my drinks of choice. I actually worked in a Coca-Cola bottling plant for a few years (2016 -2019) and I used to both batch and do QC on NOS and Full Throttle. I literally never had an energy drink before I worked there. We would do an energy drink run about every other month. Omg, that stuff was a pain in the butt to mix because there were so many ingredients, special mixing instructions, and heavy lifting. It took about 4 hours to make a single tank of syrup, so you could only do two per shift (compared to 4 or 5 batches of other Coke products on a normal day). It was happy days in the plant when we ran it though. Most of the guys on the floor *loved* that stuff and would stash a few cases to last in between runs. Lolz.
We made Original, GT Grape, and a few sugar free ones (that I can't recall) at the time. Can't recall if we made mango, because I love mango and would have definitely tried it. The Full Throttle was the original citrus flavor.
I see this video came out a few years ago. Weirdly I just had my first Sonic Sour a few days ago, and just this morning tried a Venom mango I picked up while looking for the Sonic Sour flavor. Pretty much agreed with all your ratings, but obviously with original getting a slight edge as my favorite.
One other weird thing about NOS...
Our plant also made Dr. Pepper (our facility could do the mini 7.5oz aluminum cans and the local Dr. Pepper plant couldn't, so they sub-contracted it out to us). Anyhoo, I noticed everyone at the plant was either a Dr. Pepper person *or* a NOS person. People who liked one couldn't stand the other. Even at my house, my wife loves Dr. Pepper and thinks NOS is gross. I'm the exact opposite. In the QC lab, we knew who like which, so when we had to do TOA (Taste, Odor, Appearance) tests, we would switch out to whoever normally liked each, regardless of what the production line you were covering was running. Lol!!
As for the 54g of sugar: yeah I try to limit myself to one can a day (or none). I'm only half joking when people ask me about it and I hold up the can and say, "NOS! _Come_ for the tooth decay. _Stay_ for the diabetes!!".
The started making NOS Zero Sugar again, but I can't *stand* sucralose.

Nos was the first energy drink I ever tried and I’ve always loved them. They were definitely a lot more cool back in the day with the fancy bottles. To this day though grape nos is my go to energy drink. There’s something about it that I absolutely love.
Yeah, they got away from the bottle so they could save money AND it was getting confused with the actual NOS product (not energy drink) LOL!
The cherry one was one of my favorites of all time!
Respect for dressing orange and blue for nos review.... citrus was the second best to original... then it disappeared.... sonic sour is liquid jolly rancher and turns my stomach... and I drink energy drinks more than I should so thats a significant statement.

Yeah I noticed the change in the Cherry NOS It never tasted like that before I guess the did change the ingredients. Cherry NOS before being bought by Monster was the most delicious cherry carbonated drink I ever drank.

the "smoke" is acutally gas, and its the c02 that puts the bubbles in the drink, pretty much every carbonated drink the world have the ability to do that, its just a matter of temperature between the inside of the can/bottle and the outside temperature in the air

I use to drink these drinks all the time when they first came out and really liked them a lot. Now I don't drink them anymore mainly because of all the sugar in them and not enough caffeine for me. I pretty much drink just bang now because they have no sugar and more caffeine. I just don't like all the sugar you get in NOS and you do get a lot if you drink the whole can which most people will do.

I’ve tried all but the original,sugar free,and mango varieties..Recently tried the Power punch and I thought it was pretty good! Although I didn’t drink the whole can because how of much sugar are in these..Made sure to definitely drink some water after I was done with it! I usually stick with sugar free drinks so trying a Nos is very rare for me..

You forgot one caffeine man! There’s a sugar free NOS but can only find them at select stores. I’ve found them mostly at Delta Sonic (western New York gas station/car wash) and Truenorth/Shell gas stations

Nos and Venom are totally 2 of my number 1 favorite energy drinks. My second favorite is Monster. They are also they only ones that I really drink. If I choose just one tho, it would definitely be Nos.

For the rating system it’s probably best to have 1 rating for the proprietary flavor and 1 separate one for the best flavor of the brand. I think it’s probably the best to have a comprehensive understanding yet still be showable when brought up

Please consider giving us out here utilizing the drinks for that get up and go in the morning or even as a pre workout some ❤️ and direction in our quest to stay caffeinated! Drinks like c4 are actually formulated with bodybuilding/performance supplements like beta alanine and betaine. What I’m saying is that a Caffeine Man scale describing the perceived and functional performance results like energy boost, vasodilation(pump) and focus (c4 does include nootropics). This would be both useful and entertaining for a very solid demographic that may already be watching and enjoying your vids like I do! Keep doing your thang Caffeine Man!

That being said, I like your thoughts on the chart and heres what I originally had in my head. 2 charts. One for the taste test and one for the healthiness of the drink. I figured these 2 things were important to everyone. In thinking about the healthiness, which I feel is similar to your suggestions for energy boosting and focus, it is easier said than done. Basically, how do we rate the healthiness? Which ingredients are better than others? And how do they really work? For example. Is a drink with 200% Vitamin B better than 100%? Some might say yes, but in actuality, anything over 100% for the day gets flushed out. Just that simple example makes it complex for every ingredient in the drink. Do you know what the healthiest drink on the planet is? Its water. WATER! I mean, it makes sense because we need it to live....but what health macros does it have? Does it have vitamins? Does i caffeine? Does it have anything beside H2O? No. So why is it so healthy. The second healthiest drink is green tea. TONS of antioxidants and health benefits! So, is an energy drink that uses green tea extract more healthy than a drink that has BCAA's, Creatine and electolytes? How do you weigh those things? Not to mention that each ingredient effects each person differently. Some people can have Beta Alanine other people cant because they get itchy. These are just a couple of the MANY issues I had when I tried to figure out the logistics of a "healthy" meter/chart. Therefore, I went with just the flavor chart based on how I think they taste and if people disagree, thats fine because its just my opinion. A health chart would have to be backed by science and its too big of a venture for me to take on. Hope that helps!!! Appreciate the suggestion though!
NOS is still on my top list. It has lots of sugar, so I tend to stick to the low calorie version.

Noo, sonic sour should have been higher. I tried it almost a year ago and have been hooked ever since. I do however agree with the coconut redbull rating, it's normally my go to.
I can understand people that like the Sours because its definitely Sour. Me, personally, not a huge fan of sour. But yeah, that Coconut Red Bull...whoa!
NOS Mango and Original are two of my favorite tasting energy drinks. But they are sweetened with high fructose corn syrup, giving them a traditionally subtle fruit soda flavor.
Yeah, they definitely have a lot of sugar and when it comes to energy drinks, one of the few energy drinks that still use high fructose corn syrup. Most use Glucose, Sucrose or some other form of sugar(other than High Fructose Corn Syrup). Most likely because it originated as a Coke product before being taken over by Monster.
CaffeineMan - I dislike the all or nothing approach of energy drinks when it comes to sugar. I wish they would develop a brand that cuts the sugar content in half.
@@BobbyCarbonKJV Agreed. Its either no sugar energy drinks of 56 grams of sugar. The only was Ive seen lower sugar is Red Bull and thats only because its an 8oz can. The 16oz can is the same as a Monster. There are a couple of drinks that have 30grams, but its few and far between. Like the Monster Hydros.
CaffeineMan - My whole family warns me that energy drinks are extremely harmful for me. But I contend that most energy drinks are a double-edged sword; being simultaneously good and bad for us. I believe they are only bad if we have a preexisting medical condition. Or if we're using energy drinks to substitute food, water, and/or sleep; of which I have a bad habit of doing just that. Of course, I've consumed caffeine ever since early childhood and have a relatively high tolerance for it. Sometimes I would have a Rockstar sitting on my nightstand and I would sip it throughout the night every time I wake up to use the bathroom; before going back to sleep. The original Rockstars seem to have the highest carbonation content since I could slowly drink one over the course of 6 to 8 hours out of the can, and it would still have a significant amount of carbonation. The same can not be said of regular soda. If I tried to do the same with a coca cola or Pepsi, they would have long gone flat and lost their appeal. I actually prefer the throat burning effects of highly carbonated water. Which is why I enjoy mineral water with an extremely high carbonation. Sometimes, I mix half a bottle of carbonated mineral water with an Original Rockstar to reduce the sweetness. That's the only way I can think of to reduce the sweetness; whilst maintaining the carbonation. If there are energy drinks that you like but are too high in sugar, I recommend mixing them with carbonated mineral water until you find the desired taste.
Ran in to a local circle k and they had the sugar free one in there. That’s the first time I’ve seen it in a while

CaffeineMan it taste ok. It has a grapefruit/citrus flavor, classic sugar free energy drink flavor (if that makes any sense). Has a good flavor up front but has a slight after taste. If you find it I would give a try.

Welllll....I think they all actually used a little bit of Sucralose. They just didnt cover it up as well in the Cherry one. But, yeah, Im getting accustomed to it now.

NOS is an original energy drink. Came out so long ago and survived the test of time. Nothing like the OG.... although I love the mango

To the best of my knowledge it was discontinued several months ago. You might still be able to find cans online, but they will be approaching best by dates. It was more of a candied cherry or a maraschino cherry flavor. Most likely it will be re-branded under a similarly named nos flavor .

I remember a few years ago NOS partnered with NASCAR driver Kyle Busch to make another flavor called “Rowdy” which in my mind tastes like they took the power punch and mixed it with a candy strawberry. It’s not bad but I’ve trying to get healthier so I’ve been sticking with the sugar free drinks.
Someone told me those were still out. I saw them on Walmart dot com but they were sold out. Heard they were good.

I do miss the old bottles of NOS, reminds me of the actual Nitrous Oxide Systems bottles.
I do use the original for gaming/exercise and college (Not mango but give it a shot). I recommend them this to anyone who doesn't use G-FUEL or BANG but I rather choose this over monster or Red Bull. 100%

Well, for the original. Not sure if you’re talking about a bigger size.
Do you mean what do I do with the energy drinks or just the energy? Any that I like, I put into plastic bags and put into the fridge. As for just the energy, it’s not too bad. I only take a mouthful of each so it’s like I’m really only having one drink. As for shelves, I’m already overstocked and can’t fit them all. In the process of remodeling with more shelves in the way. A few weeks out.
Do you remember when the original NOS can contained more caffeine? That's how i got back into trying energy drinks. Unrelated to that, I miss the large bottled version. What are the better cherry flavors you've tried?

Some of my favorites were by C4 (they had a couple) and the new GFuel.

The Game Fuel cherry was decent. Kroger has a cherry one called Bing that I 'heard' is good. Havent had a chance to try it yet. 7/11 just started carrying C4, so if you have one near you, you can keep an eye out there. And Circle K has the Joker Cherry Lime, which I thought was pretty good as well. Not Midnight Cherry C4 good, but still good.
