Good review. Just picked one up on sale at Walmart for $175. I'm super excited as I've been wanting to purchase at full cost.
Can you post a link to it priced at 175? I’m going to buy one today and would love to price match that
Great review! I personally got a Lexington as well as an early Christmas present in the 1st week of December. I have cooked on it every single weekend and I absolutely love it. It’s perfect for a smaller family.
Thank you! You have a great little machine with that model! If you need any pointers about a cleaning routine, I just posted a video of how I clean mine. Happy smoking!
@@Ryanseverydayrecipes thank you so much. I’ll definitely be sure and check it out. Again, thank you for the content.
Thank you. Just augmented mine this morning for the first time. I noticed the pellets did not flow into the fire pit as smoothly as it should. I used a kabob stick to help push it in.
Recently Got one as well. Love the Onyx Matte color. Perfect size, Looking forward to my 1st smoke!
Have a great time, you have a good smoker! Happy Smoking!
Liked your review just got the same grill, only used once so far but I enjoyed using it and my 4lb meatloaf came out great. Have a good evening from Michigan.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍
I like meatloaf, I’m sure it turned out great. What else have you tried? Thanks for the comment and happy smoking!
Happy New Year to you as well. Great review.
Thank you!
I’ve had one for year never thought about a heat plate I’ll be getting one
Keep um coming
Just picked one up this pass weekend. Is there a pellet brand you recommend this this grill? I got treagor pellets but wasn't pleased with them. Have a bag of Bear Mountain butchers blend I'm gonna try this weekend. I'm new to all this.
Thanks for the review, what’s a flame tamer for? I saw this is on sale at Walmart rn, thinking about getting it as my first smoker.
Thanks for the visit! The flame tamer is a metal plate that sits over the fire pot, shielding the drip tray from direct heat. This evenly distributes the heat so your food can cook more evenly. This model is a bit smaller so it requires a specific heat diffuser/ flame tamer. I linked one in the description. I have a video about heat diffusers that shows the difference. If you have any more questions please feel free to reach out!
I just got the same grill the other day. I saw someone in another video had wrapped their curved plate in foil to help with cleaning. Just a suggestion.
Thanks for the review
I bought the navigator 550
love my lexingtons i now own 2 of them ..
I saw your review, great job! Thanks for watching!
How do I season my internal drip tray? Do I do it in my oven like a cast iron skillet? Rub it with Crisco and bake it at 425 for like an hour?
Yes thats how i do it, wipe off any excess oil
This model size allowed us to season in the oven, on the larger grills, I oil them and simply run the smoker for about an hour at a high temp. Thanks for the question!
Great review
How does this hold the heat and smoke without an adjustable chimney but rather open vent holes in the back with no way to close them off?
I’m going to look into this, hopefully I can find some info to shed more light. Great question, I’ll follow up.
I can't decide between the Lexington or a camp chef xt 24. How easy is it to clean the ash and can you control the smoke intensity? Ty
Nice little cooker! Check out Scotty’s backyard bbq. He has two of them and does some great cooks on them. New subscriber here!
Thank you! I’ll head over and check out the channel, I love all things BBQ.
I'm considering purchasing one of these, I've never owned a pellet grill. What's a flame tamer/heat defuser? and what are P settings?
Sorry for the delay in response and thanks for the great question! The flame tamer is a metal plate that shields the drip pan from direct heat or flame. It helps with even heat distribution and minimizes hot spots on the grate. The P setting allows you to have control of the pellet feed while using the smoke setting. What type of smoker did you decide to purchase?
Is the new controller a “PID” controller. I know early on when pellet smokers started PID’s were a selling point. It may not be a dealbreaker now
Hi, yes the new controllers are PID, here's the link. shop.pitboss-grills.com/products/lexington-500-wood-pellet-grill-onyx-edition
So how often do I have to check on it overnight? I want to buy one
What’s a flame tamer?
Do I have to use a heat diffuser? & how do I go about installing it? Sorry, I’m sure that’s a silly question and I assume it’s rather easy. Thanks man
It’s a valid question and I appreciate you taking the time to ask. Sorry for the delayed response. It’s a matter of preference, if you don’t use one, there will be a hotspot on the grate. When I sear, I want that hotspot. When I want to slow cook something, I use the diffuser/ tamer. It’s very easy to install, it is placed directly over the fire pot by hand. Thank you for asking and happy smoking!
@@Ryanseverydayrecipes thank you man that helped a ton!!
Any chance you have the dimensions for the flame tamer? Would like to buy an aftermarket one on Amazon but unsure of which one to buy. Thanks!
The dimensions vary and unfortunately I don’t have the numbers for the Lexington. Hopefully in your search you can find a product that specifies that it fits this particular model, or the model you are shopping for. Smokes like a boss and smokedaddyinc list the makes and models that their products fit. I’ve dealt with both companies and had a good experience. Best of luck finding the right piece.
Dont mean to be a sceptic but you said nothing about a pellet clean out,and ash tray clean out does it have these
