I personally believe the traction control killed your motor. If you would have disabled it I think the wheels would have spun and possibly kept your motor from blowing up. I drive a 2nd gen Prius. As soon as the tires slip it cuts all power out.

I swear the oil filter on that car is a cartridge so that's a little odd to see a spin on filter...I could be wrong, also the filter is I believe part of the oil pan so I'm sure a rod blew out of it

Yep, my CT200h (basically a prius gen 3) blew a rod going 80 on the interstate. The electric kicked in and I was able to drive a mile to a parking lot. It is a nice feature for when you blow your engine.
Chris_h _ you can’t just add nitrogen to the engine and expect good results you also need to add more fuel with it so you would have to reprogram the computer to do that, but in short does small engines are not meant to handle all that extra pressure.

You'll probably never see this, but nitrous oxide works primarily by providing additional oxygen to the engine's combustion. At smaller levels ("shots") the ECU and fuel injectors can compensate, but at higher levels you need to add fuel at the same time ("wet shot"). The cooling effect you mention in the video is basically irrelevant compared to the extra oxygen. The reason why we use nitrous oxide instead of pure oxygen is two-fold 1) nitrous oxide will only start to react with things when it gets really hot (over 1000F) so it's very safe, unlike oxygen which will react even at insanely cold temperatures. 2) nitrous oxide will turn into a liquid at sane temperatures and pressures, with liquids being about 100x more dense than gasses. This means you can hold 100x more nitrous oxide than oxygen in the same size container.

I think it'll be cheap to fix. You can get a junkyard engine for well under $500 pulled from a wreck. The engines rarely die (something about not normally being used with nitrous...) so there are acres of them just sitting there. I wouldn't even bother with a rebuild, just swap it in there. The way the start/stop setup works, delaying the spark and fuel until the engine is already turning several hundred rpm, means the bearings haven't started spinning dry since the day it was made. Now, inverters and power steering servos? Those are expensive. :-)
erik scott right it’s normal for them to be scrap because the battery that he’s already done. The engine is only a minor bump on the road now. Literally and figuratively.

Yep, my CT200h (basically a prius gen 3) blew a rod going 80 on the interstate. The electric kicked in and I was able to drive a mile to a parking lot.
It is a nice feature for when you blow your engine.

Chris_h _ you can’t just add nitrogen to the engine and expect good results you also need to add more fuel with it so you would have to reprogram the computer to do that, but in short does small engines are not meant to handle all that extra pressure.

You'll probably never see this, but nitrous oxide works primarily by providing additional oxygen to the engine's combustion. At smaller levels ("shots") the ECU and fuel injectors can compensate, but at higher levels you need to add fuel at the same time ("wet shot"). The cooling effect you mention in the video is basically irrelevant compared to the extra oxygen.
The reason why we use nitrous oxide instead of pure oxygen is two-fold 1) nitrous oxide will only start to react with things when it gets really hot (over 1000F) so it's very safe, unlike oxygen which will react even at insanely cold temperatures. 2) nitrous oxide will turn into a liquid at sane temperatures and pressures, with liquids being about 100x more dense than gasses. This means you can hold 100x more nitrous oxide than oxygen in the same size container.

I think it'll be cheap to fix. You can get a junkyard engine for well under $500 pulled from a wreck. The engines rarely die (something about not normally being used with nitrous...) so there are acres of them just sitting there. I wouldn't even bother with a rebuild, just swap it in there. The way the start/stop setup works, delaying the spark and fuel until the engine is already turning several hundred rpm, means the bearings haven't started spinning dry since the day it was made.
Now, inverters and power steering servos? Those are expensive. :-)
