I grew up not just eating tortillas but watching my mother make them from an early age. A tortilla is something I find hard to live without. Your recipe is the closest to the texture and taste that I have tried that are Keto friendly. Some of the other recipes are either too eggy or brittle. I’ve done your recipe twice. In the effort to get closer to my mother’s recipe I added a tablespoon of cream cheese, (that I melted in the microwave) and a quarter teaspoon of baking powder. My seasonings are onion powder and garlic and I use tallow to grill them with. The cream cheese seemed to make the dough a little silkier and easier to keep round when I rolled them out. Thank you for this recipe. Because I would still be searching. These tortillas hit the spot.
This is probably the simplest roti/tortilla recipe I've found, and looks great! I want to try it, but how much does it taste like coconut? I'm not a fan of that flavor. I mostly use almond flour recipes.
C. E. DeAllen , I don’t have an issue with coconut flour, but you can easily switch out the flour for almond. I like Sonal’s recipe because the tortillas stay flexible and don’t taste eggy. I’ve seen other recipes that use flax seed meal, but again when they get wet with sauce they tend to dissolve. Maybe Sonal has a tip on that, cause I don’t know the ratios. I have turned one almond flour tortilla recipe into crackers.
Okay UA-camrs I tried Sonal's recipe. It went really well and the Roti's came out fantastic. I did make slight adjustments to the recipe as follows: 1 cup coconut flour 2 tablespoons of psyllium husk 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1 tablespoon butter 1 cup warm water. Mix the flour, psyllium husk and salt well. Add butter and mix. Finally, add warm water and knead the dough and then let it sit for 10 minutes. I've also tried scallions and kalonji (onion seeds) and that also turned out fantastic.
I made this and it came out great except that they turned a blue-grey colour - like a blueberry pancake. Is that normal? In the video Sonal's didn't look blue? I followed the recipe exactly, do you think adding a teaspoon of lemon juice will counter the blue colour?
So, over the course of 1.5 weeks I have tried 2 other "flat breads" before this one. 1 used eggs, almond flour and xanthan gum. It was more of a tortilla due to the seasoning. It was okay but I did not like the texture or the weird after taste. Then I tried 1 that was similiar to this but it called for more husk and they used oil instead of butter. I hated it and hated that I wasted my husk and almond flour and olive oil !! Googy, rubbery and nasty. Then there's this.....OMG they are so bombbbb!!!! I love it I love it I love it. 3 simple ingredients and no eggs. Girl you're a life saver. I made some chicken wraps and these taste better than than real torillas. Could be the coconut ? Love it. Thank you.
I made 6 of these last night and had it with fish curry! Wow! It is so so delicious!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes, Sonal! I used whole psyllium husks as I do not have the powdered ones and added about 1 tablespoon of oat fiber. All worked super well and so yummy! Thank you!❤🥰
I have made this several times now with some slight variations and it is terrific. I like it more than any wheat based plain roti or tortilla I've ever had. It's very soft and pliable and neutral in flavour. I've made it by adding nutritional yeast for b vitamins, onion powder, garlic powder, turmeric and pepper etc. All turned out wonderfully. Thanks for this recipe Sonal!
This is the first Keto flat bread that I have made. It was great. Video helped. I even made one with coconut flour, vanilla, stevia and coconut oil for a dessert crepe. My friend really liked both. Thank you for sharing these great videos and recipes.

GREAT recipe, thank you! I'm vegan so will sub coconut oil for the butter but was looking for a good keto wrap. Also, a $15 cast iron tortilla press from Amazon REALLY takes a lot of work out of making the roti/wraps. Very fast, uniform and you can even keep using your silpat sheets inside the press.
Thank you for these, I've literally made them at least 20 times this month. By far the easiest way and tastiest. I use them as wraps and bread, and tempted to try them as pasta, by cutting them in fettuccine-like strips. :)

It's interesting that you used two silpat sheets. For some reason, I never thought of that. It's great not to waste parchment or wax paper. I am unfamiliar with Indian food, and in particular, rotis. However, I look forward to trying this with grass-fed ground beef as a change of pace to simply using it as a hamburger patty. Again I used your recipe and replaced the hot water with hot tomato sauce and OMG I LOVE THEM. I kept the cream cheese and nutritional yeast, but the tomato sauce was so delicious.
Man the Keto diet is so damn expensive. On one side we 40 RS kg wheat flour and one other side we have coconut flour that costs more than Rs 500 per Kg. Looks I will stick to intermittent fasting.
I like the video by Butter Bob where he says to just keep it simple. All of these fancy recipes are not really necessary. The ones on this channel are easy to prepare but you dont have to make 30 different things....just find a few and enjoy.
You don't have to buy coconut flour, because duh.. It's expensive as hell ik. I am on keto too and i make my own coconut flour. Just buy coconuts which shouldn't cost you more than 100rs and you'll get a good amount of flour, at home!!
I made this roti today, it was so so so good cant tell in words, i tried it wout gravy it tasted bit coconuty not thats a bad thing but when i ate it with muglai kofta it tasted so so so good Amazaing recipe I made 6 freeze 5 for later in cling

I wanted u to know that I added a little turmeric for health benefits and color... a smidgen of garlic powder and a slap of dried parsley flakes... so good... omg good... Lol good : ) Again, I am so grateful to you... Shalom!
These are actually very hard to make and are very hard to work with since they break easily. I would recommend making them thicker at the beginning and let them cook on medium until it becomes dry enough to roll it over. You can also add fried onions or onion powder and cumin seeds if you do not like the coco-nutty flavour.
Sonal, you solved my family's search for the perfect keto tortillas! I am sending big hugs here! It has been so hard to find a bendable, pliable, yet sturdy low carb option for this - and I am not good at creating recipes. This is so easy, simple, and it doesn't taste like coconut at all! Thx for sharing.
Thanks a million for sharing your knowledge recipe. It seems very simple and I will definitely be creating this.
Hope you like it
I’m tried this and my dough kept breaking apart. Any recommendations on how to fix it 😭
Did you use hot water?
Super fine keto flour, good quality psyllium husk, hot water, rest the dough
I tried this. Texture was really good and came out very soft. Your direction are perfect. Thanks!
Thank you so much. I am glad it turned out good.
Amazing!! Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much Sonal! Your recipe is heaven sent! I have been trying forever to get a keto recipe for flatbread that is easy and one that I dont get tired of, your flatbread hit the mark. This is the first keto bread that I have made with coconut flour that I actually like the taste of, and I do not do well with nut flours, so this recipe is so extra special, I love to make naan / flat bread pizza's, these will be so tasty, I cant wait to make them.
So happy to be of help
Hey I tired this recipe
It is awesome my husband love it 😘
So glad to hear that.
Thanks for sharing your Keto Roti recipe.
I got it right from first try. I liked it very much. However, taste of coconut is always dessert fro me. Sonal have yo ever tried to make it with almond flower?? Thank you for a simple and delicious recipe.
Ya I was thinking the same why not try it with almond flour
@Maria MalesThat is what I thought I think that would be a good idea. But I will try the almond flour since I have a big bag :)
Looks easy, will definitely try it
Hope you enjoy😊
Madam, you are awesome and recipe also awesome.
Than you so much
Sonal,
This is a good and easy recipe👍
I can see this used in a Keto Lasagna.
I am planning on cutting it into noodles.
Would you boil them then?
Adriana Castillo I think I would just cook them in the pan. They may be too slippery once boiled. But I am curious too.
wow thats a decent idea
If i add flax seed flour instead of physillium husk?
Again I used your recipe and replaced the hot water with hot tomato sauce and OMG I LOVE THEM. I kept the cream cheese and nutritional yeast, but the tomato sauce was so delicious.
Wow such a great idea to add tomato sauce. I would not have thought.
Wow your so beautiful 😍😍 keto with this beauty is awesome 😍😋
superflash Shazam haha...😉
I tried this today, from a meal delivery service. It was surprisingly good. Nice video recipe 🙏💕
🙏 Thank you
Man the Keto diet is so damn expensive. On one side we 40 RS kg wheat flour and one other side we have coconut flour that costs more than Rs 500 per Kg. Looks I will stick to intermittent fasting.
Theknowabout and there is an added expense of buying a new clothes when you loose weight...😅
So glad I found your channel. I follow a keto lifestyle and love Indian food. Thank you!!
Glad to hear that 😊
Omg marry me bahahaha!
;}
Omg I tried this one for my breakfast today. The best coconut flour Rotti I have ever made. Thank you so much.

Greetings... So grateful for your healthy coconut flat bread. I am in the process of healing my body naturally from Type 2 Diabetes and this recipe is right on time. I prayed 4 a bread recipe that wouldn't spike my blood... I wanted u to know that I added a little turmeric for health benefits and color... a smidgen of garlic powder and a slap of dried parsley flakes... so good... omg good... Lol good : ) Again, I am so grateful to you... Shalom!
Thank you so much for letting me know. Best wishes on your health journey and turmeric is a great idea.
Oh Sonal! I have to make these! Thank you so much. All the best, Susan.
Good Luck Susan. Hope you like them.
I just made these. They are amazing! One of the best recipes I've found. So many applications. Thank you!!!
J M Baxman so glad you liked it.👍
How is the taste?
this is truly the easiest and very best for any filling. Thank you!
Yes it is.
I used a tortilla press (it presses a ball of dough flat), and that produced perfect circles.
These are amazing, thank you for sharing the recipe!!
My pleasure 😊
Mam aap bahut kamaal ki hai
Kya receipes share kerti hai
Too good
Thank you so much 🤗
These are actually very hard to make and are very hard to work with since they break easily. I would recommend making them thicker at the beginning and let them cook on medium until it becomes dry enough to roll it over. You can also add fried onions or onion powder and cumin seeds if you do not like the coco-nutty flavour.
If your rotis are breaking when you roll them, maybe you can reduce the water a bit or increase the psyllium husk, I am guessing.
Something is wrong with your roties , it was so easy to make .
My husband, I, and our young son all were instant fans of our first time to try it last night with dinner. Thank you so, so much! I'm a new subscriber to you and hope to find more keto friendly content on your channel
Soo glad to hear that. Much love
