This is my “Master Class” for OBS Studio. I’ve spent basically all of 2017 researching, scripting, revising, shooting, and producing this course, and I’m quite proud of what it’s become. Great stuff! People also need to be aware that there are a LOT of things that can affect their internet connection, quality and the likes, OUTSIDE the house. You can only control what happens up to where it plugs into the wall. After that, it's out of your hands. The "Last mile" internet is where a lot of people have problems, and only their ISP can fix those.

Thank you I m a video gaming creator who just stuck on the steps of streaming for few days now I m getting better to setup my live with your advises.
I don't know why...but after 2 hours of live....live went offline...and can't reconnecting on the same live....but it was all good settings...all green...4100 kb/s

Any idea what to do when your entire setup was working fine for about a year and then days ago started spiking down to 0kbps every 20 seconds? tracerts show the route ending just after my isp as it tries to connect to the first twitch hop. three 50 min phone calls later and they're 100% positive theres no issue on their end.

Have a question. Whenever I set my bitrate to 3500 it goes higher then that and then lower than 3500 but stays green
So my OBS is able to RECORD everything including the audio just fine. The only issue is, when I have my Bluetooth headset connected, when I start recording, I am no longer able to hear anything but I am pretty sure the audio is still being recorded. When I try to disconnect my headset to restart it (which works when it is having issues outside of OBS) it does not work and says it’s connected even when it’s turned off until I close down OBS. I do not have this problem when I use earbuds physically connected to the laptop via port. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Does it also matter what type of ethernet cable is used? Internet is running fast and great only start dropping frames when i start streaming
what do you suggest could be the problem I still have my stream lagging and I have 370 mbs download and 12 mbs upload and I’m running only 4000 bit I’m frustrated I can’t find the problem

So i have 67/67 internet and my bitrate is set to 3500 and the kb/s is constantly red or yellow. What should i do?
So low latency mode should help with my ping problems.
I have 55mb/s download and 6-8mb/s upload. Stream looks great on 3000 bitrate 720p30fps, but my ingame ping jumps to 300-500ms and makes the game unplayable

hii when i stream on obs everything on the stream works fine but when i load spotify or youtube after like 10mins spotify and youtube stop working even though the stream still works perfectly :( soo annoying any tips?

I have a alienwaire I7-8th generations, 1070 8g video card and 16 gigs ram, top of the line internet. When i go live on you tube from OBS it only plays at 480p max on you tube. Although OBS looks sharp and high quality. If i record a video, it records in super high Definition. Not you tube for some reason I have changed all the settings. Nothing works. Sucks
i have the red box problem and 0 framedrops but i collect a lot of delay on stream :/

I AM USING A SINGLE LAPTOP TO STREAM WITH OBS, PLAY GAME IN IT AND RUN UA-cam TUBE STREAM BOX IN THE SAME LAPTOP SO PLZ HELP ME TO GET A SMOOTH STREAM
OMG I have been trying to figure this out for a full day now, just before I went live I had to change some setting and must have turned off "auto" for the server settings. my stream didn't crash but there was a bit more of a delay then usual. literally all I had to do was turn it back on. 😂

When I was about to record valorant, my internet went offline. I thought there was a service update of my internet. It was so annoying please help.
Unplug your modem leave unplugged for 1 minute turn off your computer make sure all the lights go off then plug back in restarting all the lights and turn the computer on.
This is for if you have been streaming consistently with good bitrate and suddenly it drops your obs starts showing red orange yellow and your stream is unstable but your internet connection is still working normally
I’ve been having this issue on both slobs and obs, so I will try out this method and see if it works

I am assuming that if other family video members are streaming video, that that can lower your bandwidth, so kick them off UA-cam, Netflix, Hulu, etc.

The Stream Deck unit does NOT work on any PC windows platform below windows 10... Unfortunately I cant stand windows 10; which is why I use the more stable windows 8.1; so I guess the deck unit is a pass for me. (Its a shame, cause I could really have used the deck for my set-up. And "NO" not gonna switch to windows 10).
*Can anyone recommend a similar stream deck type of unit that would work with a Dell PC, using windows 8.1?

Try lowering your bitrate. Otherwise, you have throttling or bandwidth degradation going on and need to talk with your ISP
My Downloading speed is 10 mbps and uploading is 16 mbps. I had tried but not working properly. And thank you so much for replying back to me.

Reset your stream key. Should clear it up. Don't forget to enter in your new stream key in your obs settings.

yes
It would be because of your internet connection then. If it was Ethernet there would be no problem but WiFi sometimes does this, it should be fixed when your speed is constant

Ok, I'm obviously having obs bitrate issues which is why I watched this video, but I noticed something odd. If I start a stream with bandwidth test mode enabled, the connection is more stable. When I start a real twitch livestream, my bitrate get super inconsistent. If anyone knows anything about this, let me know! Also, great video Adam!
