@1:50 that stare towards the camera. It’s like yea maybe the caribou can out run me.*looks into the camera* but I know you can’t lol. But all jokes aside. It is very cool seeing bears in the action of hunting. It’s amazing the few people who actually don’t realize how scary fast bears are. I feel like most look at bears as something slow like a sloth. But man the power they have in there legs and claws and of course there bite. I pray I never come across a bear of any kind but I’d sure love to see one from a distance. I’ve seen plenty of black bear. I volunteered at a refuge that rescued and provided homes for animals who were either owned by people or where some were hurt and had to rely on humans to survive. But this refuge I volunteered for rescues them and provides them a home and they have bigcats, primates, wolves and whatever is in need of a home. If they can make it happen they will. And there they have quite a few Black Bears and one Himalayan Black Bear and man are they gorgeous animals.
Does anyone else remember a PBS documentary where a bear chases a herd for what felt like one minute straight? (it was probably more like 30 seconds). The footage was also captured in aerial view. It was incredible. I had no idea bears had that much stamina. I wish I could find it🥺
If the bear thought the first was dead, it wouldn't want it. It's a predator not a scavenger. That's why you're supposed to play dead if you ever encounter a grizzly.
0:50 "grizzlies and polar bears are almost the same species" 1. Look, a species designation is a species designation, there are no gradations! What was likely meant was that they are very closely related, despite being separate species, which they certainly are. 2. HOWEVER, of all brown bears, grizzlies are not closest to polar bears. Indeed polar bears preceded grizzlies as they are today, grizzlies are a younger taxon. Brown bears closest to polar bears are populations such as the ABC bears
It's Groundhog Day This man's voice is well known and often used for narration. My guess is actor and playwright Sam Shephard. Just a guess though ... James Earl Jones has also done some excellent narration for iconic Serengeti and other wildlife films.
I'm really getting skeptical of these nature documentaries 0:47 . How are grizzlies and polar bears almost the same species? They have completely different habitats and diets. Its only on the very fringes of their ranges that they even come in contact.
They're very closely related to each other, like with lions and tigers, or dogs and coyotes, or even horses and donkeys. They're so closely related they can produce hybrid offspring, but the hybrid cannot produce offspring of its own.
Cmon, bear, just eat the berries and the veggies, and the salmons, ok? 🤣 Im sorry , I dont think I can handle seeing him eat those young caribous with him looking so cute and cuddly like that. 🤣 I know, he needs to eat, but still I would be very disappointed. 😭

bear at buffet: should i take this piece of fried chicken or that one?
fried chicken pieces (flying away): bye bye bear
The bear is so well-fed and runs so fast, his power and strength are immediately visible!👍🐻
except he fucked up, what a dumbass haa
Go back to your own country
Bear got greedy
there is one still croked in the grass.. pay attention
That’s a human trait, greedy , don’t pin it on the bear
Didn’t get greedy, but instinct gave chase. The bear will chase. Now he’ll go back to the other, which the camera didn’t/wouldn’t show it kill.

how to survive a grizzly attack? Be the camera man!
Wow. Now that's a grizzly bear.
Bear is looking very cute

Being a wild animal would be soo stressful
This could serve as a great metaphor 😂
Old proverb: chase two rabbits, catch none.
What happened when he tried to "kill two birds with one stone" ?
Many thanks for that great footage!
How he find two and lose both🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️🤦🏾♂️ lol. I thought the first was dead. Must be a young bear🤷🏾♂️
Yeah I think so too. He didn't maim it like an adult would of to make sure it didn't move.

The surprising thing here was the speed of the Caribou calves.
It's really unbelievable that reindeer are from the Arctic, how can they intersect with brown bears?

When both the calves got sway, the grizzly was heard to say, "Dog GONE it!"😅
Damn the calves run fast
Yes! lol one said to the other “ I don’t have to be fast … just faster than you! Sorry Mildred! Lol 🎥😎
Bear so cute 🥰 I not sure be sad or happy it lost its food.

Wow straight up wookie bear

So happy for the cubs.... sorry grizzly 😅
how big are the caribous, the bear looks tiny
The Bear is wider and the caribous are taller
What a poor bear. The bear had lost its own meals. The bear will have nothing to eat. All reindeers had ran away.
Look at all those chicken nuggets

Something I've noticed with nature docs these days, the featured hunts are almost never successful.
Sign of the times.
Wide in the open it's always gonna be impossible for the beat he can't ambush and he can't outrun the caribou it's bound to fail

They are prey not predator
Stupid bear should have at least killed that one first before going for the other one
Agree but all species are greedy. This is a example of it. We all been there at one point in our lives.
it did, look close, theyre talking about the other two. one is still lifeless in the grass when he runs after the seconds
at 1:33 look at the right side, one is not alive
