Wow Tula Harkonnen had a child that she gave up who turned out to be Desmond Hart. Tabu's character has meticulously influenced her son by giving him a purpose.
With Tula being both the mother of Desmond AND the architect of the Atriedes "atrocity" in the forest makes for an interesting common enemy & possible teaming up of both Hart & the rebel swordsman (assuming that the Atriedes character eventually links Tula's name to the forest atrocity from which his father was the only survivor). However, I'm not sure that all that can come together in the last episode of the season when the swordsman has now been arrested.
Dune: Prophecy arrived tonight. Fully formed and matured it hit on nearly all marks: pacing, intention, stakes, fight choreography, cinematograph, dialogue. With all this in support I believe each actor was freed from the burdens of the production that previously weighed down their performances. Their true talent was released. Emily Morton presented a more “dignified, calm, and collected” presence as Reverend Mother. Chloe Lea as Lila/Raquella revealed more nuance, dimensionality, maturity. Mikaela was given purpose finally and Shalom Brune-Franklin ran with it. Olivia William’s Tula was as rocksteady and genius as ever at the center. And Travis Fimmel was able to break out of the cage of the facial peculiarities that seem to be sought in each production since Vikings. And the secret spice that opened my eyes to the promising path forward was Tabu as Sister Francesca. In conclusion the best I can offer is “Bless the Maker and His water. Bless the coming and going of Him. May His passage cleanse the world. May He keep the world for His people,” in hopes that Ep 6 will bring it home and set us on the golden path to truly enlightened and entertaining Duneverse for futures yet to come.

I went in as a lover of Dune and zero expectations, now I am really wishing they had 2-4 more episodes to better flesh all this out and tell a longer more complete story. I will be very curious if this gets a season 2.
IMO Tula did not even know she had a baby. She was made to forget it. Valya or Mother R sent the baby to Arrakis to test him. Tula will be furious with Valya and the Sisterhood now. Will be fun to watch, but I see setups for Season 2 instead of “answers”. Enjoying it though- more please. Need Dune Navigators now.
I am thinking that Lila is actually channeling Dorotea and she was pretending to be Raquela. They made it a point to kind of hang on whether it was her or not, and it would be a great abomination origin story.
What if Desmond is the one who sets the 10,000 yr prophecy plan in motion, making the sisterhood think it’s their own? That would be incredible. The series is showing history repeating itself after finding out he’s not only Atreides, but also Harkonen, just like Paul.
I'm pretty sure Constantine's mother setup the Swordmaster.... She was the one who told her son that he needed to protect his sister even from the people who love her (i.e. planting the seed in his mind that it could be the Swordmaster) and his mother would know that the Swordmaster was working for the rebellion. So it almost seems like she planted that evidence for her son to find so he could impress his father and convince his father that he's ready for a command. How it was laid out was way too conspicuous for it to just be a coincidence.
I agree that it's not likely to be Omnius to explain those blue eyes we see. The noise we hear sound mechanical, but I think it's slowed down and reversed in time. If it's the voice of someone from the future, then this is probably how they would sound to us. As for the "blue light"; I've read The Butlerian Jihad and The Machine Crusades by Brian Herbert and Kevin Anderson. The thinking machines use what is called "gel-circuitry" for their electronics. Norma Cenva was forced to use "computers", but she was careful to make sure they didn't have the capability to become thinking machines. When people found out what she was doing, they forced her to stop. I'm working on the 3rd book, The Battle of Corrin where this is mentioned. I think the blue light is the gel-circuitry that's frowned upon, if not yet illegal.
I like how the sisterhood colors reminds me of aes sedai in terms of novices wearing grey and accepted, the next level where white with all the rank colors at the bottom. And they eventually wewr a shawl in the books with the color of the ajah they choose when they are raised to full aes sedai. I do enjoy this show so much. Its been so well done and im said its about to end soon. I hope we get something more within the universe but i einder if we cant while still waiting on dune 3
I don't think the show has been getting better. I think it's been consistently decent. I enjoyed the first couple episodes as much as the later episodes.
The only definitive thing the preview for the finale shows is that Valya says to Tula "You lied to me, all this time". I think that clearly suggests that Tula told Valya she had killed the kid with Orry when she hadn't. Perhaps Valya even ordered Tula to kill Desmond. Also their younger selves are in the preview so that very well could be the case.
I almost checked out from this show but the last episodes have hooked me now. So curious about what Desmond’s endgame is. He’s literally what the sisters covet but he wants them destroyed.
I know they're setting up Dorotea to take revenge on Valya, but the version of Dorotea in Lila's genetic memory shouldn't know anything about how she was killed.

I think you are harsh regarding the loss of the insurgent network. It’s not the Bene’s fault that got turned out- but its elimination which would have happened anyways was used to their advantage in some way. A good bit of scrambling. The Sisterhood’s plans add leaping from vine to vine now like Tarzan because of Desmond so he Fremen Sister is being rude. IMO.

I guess it's only colonisation when the wrong religion and racial group do it. Europe chose to fight them in the ME opposed to Europe, not a bad idea. The history on this is ridiculously skewed

Didn’t the 1st episode say something about history creates future, or it’s by prophecy? They separate the two words as if it hey can’t be the same. The OG Dune book makes us question if the prophecy was bc of a historical plan, or if the prophecy was actually fate. It was both. I really think Desmond sets Paul’s prophecy in motion, a 10,000 yr plan to crush the sisterhood, bc they are the main oppressors of humanity. Who ever controls the future, controls the past. It would make no sense for the sister hood to repeat the same mistake, therefore Desmond has to rewrite their own grand scheme n make them think they wrote it.
Except the dune books were written way before GOT (guy still hasn’t finished writing the last book, if he ever will). I don’t know if the Witcher series is based off books.

I don’t understand this show at all: 1. why are they looking for spice smugglers? 2. why did Francesca have a boy when they are only meant to have girls? 3. How and why does Francesca know her son when the sister hood are detached from their children? 4. Is Desmond is the little boy who survived the genocide of Arterdies from Tulas actions but how is he also a Harkonnen? 5. Where did the swordsman come from if he’s also an Arterdies since there was only 1 that survived or he’s the little boy that survived?
1: I think its purely because of the tip off Harrow Harkonnen gave Desmond (that he was told by Valya to tell Desmond) 2: Im not sure if thats even a thing this far back in the past. That might be a thing only in the time of the movies. 3: because it was intentional by the sisterhood so they could use him 4: Its not the little boy left alive, Desmond is the kid of Tula and the Atreides guy she was "dating". They slept together while the people were drinking poison and then she slit his throat. She got pregnant from that one night they slept together. 5: I think the swordsman is the son of the Atreides kid that survived the massacre.
to 4 it was confirmed by Kieran that his dad was the boy who survived Tulas attack on the Atrerdies. Desmond is Tula and Orry"s son who she sent offworld when he was a baby.
