Really enjoyed this breakdown. Thank you. I would be down to go to a virtual watch party...glad to find a place online that isn't so negative about this show!
Sister Francesca has the motivation to serve the sisterhood... i think she lied to her son (about his purpose to protect the sister) and is obviously manipulating the Emperor to put the son in a position of power. Subtle use of the voice would have been a nice addition for her (in addition to playing on former imprinting).
As to the question of Hart not being able to see through Harrow's lie. I don't know whether he has truth powers or maybe as a result of being swallowed by the worm, he is so infused with Spice that he has some form of precognition (like the navigators) that just enables him to be a few steps ahead of his enemies. Hart reminds me of the monk Rasputin who came all the way from an icy wasteland to end up in the Tzar's court; displayed some type of power to gain favor with the Tzar and his wife. And now Hart has survived at least one assassination attempt. -Tula! Talk about repercussions and consequences. She has really unleashed this coming Reconing.
Precognition is the specific ability to see future events and would not help Desmond Hart to perceive any deception by Harrow. The Navigators have prescience, it is the ability to accurately predict future events allowing them to plot safe travel through the hazards of space. Hart would need a type of truth sense, a paranormal skill like the Voice, to know if he was being lied to.
@@elsenorloco84Hart is Tula's by the guy she killed on her expedition while Valya was training with the Sisterhood. She had not suspected she was pregnant when she left with Valya to return to the Sisterhood.
If you watch the HBO specials after the show (also on Max's YT page), the showrunners mention that Rasputin and the Russian Court was absolutely one of several references for Desmond and some of the tone of the show. So, your hunch is sound!
I watch the whole ep 5 and still didn't know that blood line this her son , and when search for answer you said that he is Tula son i was like . . holy moly super crab 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
A few thoughts: Francesca (played by a hugely famous Bollywood actress) came in hot and strong, so I think stays at full throttle through the finale. Jen is narratively pushing the story along. She’s Lila’s bestie, and Tula was the one who talked Valya through the Agony, so she’s hoping their bond can save Lila. She’s a catalyst to the story, but I think that’s all. Constantine is a wide-eyed beta b**ch boy. Meanwhile, Harrow proved that he’s not such a…pansy. My question is: Who in this show is Albert aka Keiren Atreides’ dad? Is he alive? How much does he know?
what I hate about these books that were written before internet is this idea how you can be the most weakest emperor and yet stay on the thron. Even Bieden got booted but yet this weak sucker gets to rule for another 10000 years
When did Valya sleep with an Atreides? Jessica's Voice works on Paul so that's not why Desmond is immune. Desmond is obviously Tula's son from her tryst with Orry Atreides on the night of mass murder
Valya would cut off her right arm before she’d sleep with an Atreides man. Desmond isn’t her son; he’s the son of Tula and Orry Atreides. The only problem I have with it is that Tula and Orry were together thirty years ago and Desmond looks a lot older than thirty. Of course, Arrakis can age you, I guess.
that would be a terrible plot twist as they'd have to introduce that relationship for the first time in the finale -- given Valya's extreme hatred of the Atreides line, it would ring so hollow.

Loved it
A child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth. Desmond Hart
Tulaaaaa come get your son. I’m sick of him 😂.
😂😂😂
🤣
Well, she kinda did him dirty ... but... yeah, get that lil s.t Tula!
❤@@MovieFiles
Right! Go away Desmond. His ending will bring a smile to my face.
He’s was great on Vikings, he makes this show good. They made a great choose picking him to play hart.
I knew as soon as it said the two bloodlines it was Tula's son. No one else fit the storyline, not even Vorian.

Great job!
Thanks!
Didnt see that coming. 😂 Neither did Tula
Still though i wonder where Desmond's "power" comes from.

Calling it right now … Tula wouldn’t have thrown her kid away… Valya did some fuuq Shiet calling it right now

It’s not a “afterlife”. It’s genetic memory.

@@chrisinnes2128 oh shizzzzz okay. But I thought he was super old ??
I never read the books but I feel like Doratea didn’t mention it because she knew she’d get her revenge some way some how
I’d love to go to a watch party, but I don’t know how to tell time.
ABOMINATION ! I love this show

Emperor javicco doesn't rule for 10,000 years.
How does Lila have Raquella's memory up to the moment of her death???
because that's how genetic memory works on this show (just as arbitrary as it stopping at birth in the books)
I think Desmond is Valiya's son...it names sense...especially why the voice doesnt work on him as his mother is the one who created it!

Dam the show good
May not be Tula- plot twist it’s valya and an atreides, just a thought

thats far from being the truth lol
