Here's the printer I used: Creality Ender 5 S1 Printer - Web: shrsl.com/44m51 Amazon: amzn.to/3JA4CK2 It's little brother the Ender 3 is a great entry level little brother for $179. Cannot beat that! shrsl.com/45gm4
You got some amazing results for the trailer. I often do a double take on some of your videos thinking "wow nice truck" and then realizing it is a RC model! You get a lot of amazing shots that look real.
Great video thank you! In all honesty I've watched dozens of 3d printer videos and I learned more in your video than all of those combined! Thank you. The trailer looks amazing
great in-depth review on the 3D printer. well organized and easy to understand. it does though seem that it needs a perfect environment and close maintenance. Great information Thank you!
I was just like you when getting a 3D printer and watching the first few prints intensely and how cool it is. I got the ender 3-s1 pro about 5mths ago, so fairly new as well to 3D printing. I use Cura for slice and tinkercad for design. 😀
Thank you so much RC Girl! I have been inspired even more to get this machine as I been wanting one for a while now! Thank you for making this video as you would make a great person to do more tutorials in the future with this machine. Have a great day girl and I love your content!!! ❤
This is s super valuable video. It motivated me to give my anycubic the tlc it needed. And now i am printing my first heat tower (great tip). I use autotowers generator for cura. Summer heat and humidity vs cold winters and dry air can also greatly alter the print quality and can make a recalibration necessary. Thanks again for the great tips!
Top tip for all of you watching. Upgrading needs to be done one part at a time. Install set up and get it printing right BEFORE adding the next. A mistake i made, buy it all fit it all together. nothing works and its extremely hard if you aint clued up to find and fix the problems. One step at a time. Youll thank me.
Ive thought about getting into 3d printing just to print spare parts for my rc. I figure with a printer costing between 300-500 i could make that back in 10-20 repairs or so not to mention all the stuff i could use it for around the house.
@RCGirl You are printing at an extremely slow speed. That printer with the Sonic Pad running Klipper is capable of printing much faster with the same quality. Creality provides Cura Profiles for the Sonic Pad that are a great starting point. Your 17h print could have been done in 5 hours give or take an hour. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions. I use the Sonic Pad too with my Ender 3 S1 Pro.
@@wrbrc4865 Yeah I was hoping to get the best quality possible by going slower at first. I'll have to up the speeds. Still have not used the resonance compensation sensor but that's next!
My first 3d print was a benchy then I printed some fuznuz bumper spurs that my sister uses for riding our horses then I printed about a dozen gypsy vanner horse cookie cutters as gifts for our staff and friends at our horseshow and every time I set up the printer I print a part of a model train tipper wagon for quality reference I bought the printer for making casting molds for steam engines horse carriages horse drawn equipment and the 1888 frich size 0 sawmill I'm restoring
First of all, an excellent video, in fact I have my basecamp and I have put many things on it to decorate it, until a moment came when I said I would need a 3d printer for my future crawlers and this video came to me, by the way, speaking of the basecamp I am super excited about see that basecamp kit and everything you bought to mount it, I want to see what color you paint that pro-line bodywork.
Thanks!! Getting a 3d printing seems to be a really fun expansion of the rc modeling hobby. I'm building the kit now. I think i'm going to go with matte black and gold for the body, but we'll see ;)
@@RCGirl I can already imagine it, and I can tell you that they will be some spectacular colors and even more so in matte, personally my first and favorite option will always be red and black if possible with some touches of gray or white but always prioritizing red and black, hopefully and post the process of how you painted the body, I would like to learn from you, will you use a liquid mask? How exciting to see your work ready =D ... sorry i know this video is about the 3d printing and the trailer, just my mind was blown when i saw your instagram and the bc kit =D
Thank you for your fantastic review, good luck on your 3d printing journey, I have been printing for5 years and have just brought the ender 5 s1 with the sonic pad I am a bit concerned about using the sonic pad as all my other printers use marlin firmware, is it easy to use.
Yes it's a breeze, especially if you've been printing for years. You'll have to tinker a bit in whichever slicer you're using to link it and make sure that the object thumbnails show up on the sonic pad. Let me know if you have questions
@@RCGirl How do I link it to the slicer I use Cura at the moment but there was a copy of Creality slicer on the supplied memory card so I installed it and chose the ender 5 s1 and it put the settings in for me
I would have gotten the Bambu labs instead for that price. I'm almost 2 weeks in 3d printing picked up the ender 3 v2 for 98 on sale. Raspberry pi etc is not needed. It's more of a want. But for ender I do recommend marlin, or at least a marlin flavor.
Here's a link to the Ender 5 S1 printer I'm using - amzn.to/3JA4CK2 A more budget friendly little sibling would be the Ender 3 (which is also on sale using Code: AFF20): shrsl.com/44ola

😂 well I'm also printing a bunch of rando things.. chicken arms, cable organizers, can lids.. 🤦🏼♀️

thanks so much! I definitely have room for improvement but it's a fun learning process (and also frustrating at times) haha
I have made a 3D printed caravan, it is lots of fun to do.
And watching the printer for ours doing it's job is mesmerising.
Your personality, skill and care come across so well in your videos. Thank you for being a leader in this hobby. You're a pro.
You are awsome with all your knowledge allready!! Thank you for sharing!!!!

Yeah for sure. It's a precision machine and needs care, but it's well built and sturdy.
Very well done trailer
Very good I work in injection molding n you learned Very quick nice job

Haha yeah it's fascinating to watch
How do you like Cura for slicing?? I been thinking of using it also!
@@MaddiesMeadows myself I like it. I tried Prusa slicer but my print jobs didn’t come out as nice vs Cura.
Watching a 3D printer printing your object is so cool !! Been printing for 4+ years, still running my original Ender 3 ( with a LOT of upgrades !)
Very cool. Seems to be a great printer for the price!

I been wanting to pick one up but it makes me nervous but great job on the trailer build good information great video 😀👍👍
I was nervous too! But it was not over my head and I bet you'd pick it up quick too
just got mine and did my test prints, it's awesome!
@@mattstanislen3165 so cool. Welcome to 3d printing! Mine has been going non stop lol

Looks so good I have been out RC for so long you give me the bug again
Terrific explanation and walk through, great tips. Thank you!
i was hoping you'd make a 3d printing video! 🎉
Great information. Not a complete newbie at 3D printing and still learned a lot of tips
oh good!

If you use the sensor that comes with the Sonic pad to calibrate it you can print at high speeds with 0 ghosting.

Well done on the video rcgirl but the ender 5 is not a true core x y printer
can it print military figures 1/35 scale , and is the detail any good
same as cnc machine :) !

I don't have the rack either. I think it was a purchased rack? The link on thingiverse is broken
Hi you beautiful girl. Thank for sharing. I just bought a 3D printer myself. So totally useful video. And a nice print you made there. 🚙🚙🤘🏼🤘🏼
Perfeito parabéns 👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️👍🇧🇷
17 hours is forever waiting for one print. Isn't that much time discouraging for hobby projects?
Ability to suffer and impulse control are major components of our hobby lol
Can't get Sonic pad on my Wifi.
The sonic pad isn’t for everyone. It’s much more technical than a 3d printer without one. It runs klipper, not marlin. That said, I like mine.
