- One of the things that you can count on when running a dealership is some very interesting offers on cars. On a nearly daily basis, we get all sorts of scams, low balls, and just plain crazy offers. Some are humorous, while others are just stupid. So in this video I talk about some of the offers we're already received.

I love the Dan/Moe alone in the garage vids….more!!!!! Always straight and to the point.
Thanks!
Have you tried Bring A Trailer? Yes, the car has to be sorted or else it will get picked to pieces, but my experience it’s light years better than dealing with Facebook…especially with these types of cars.
It's a major pain in the ass to get anything listed with them.
Mo doesn’t do scams , cash is the only way Mo does business
Lol
Hi Dan, this is Nancy. How do I buy those two cars in the video? Ready to pay 15% over asking right now. 😀 Seriously, keep up the good work!
Scam warning ^^
Lol with a cashier's check from Zimbabwe?
Facebook Marketplace has become way worse than Craigslist.
It is far worse
If someone wants to trade in an older sports car, like a Ferrari 328 or 348, would you always want to see that car in person before agreeing on price? Because that was my experience when exploring options to trade in my 348 for 355: they wanted to see the car in person, only making low offers at a distance, if even that (ultimately, I realized this was a ‘head over heart’ venture, given the rising interest in the 355, but I actually like the 348 more and decided to keep it).
There's a significant number that want to see it in person
Keep the good job guys
Thanks
Urrghhh....some people....... sorry you have to go through that.....
Eh it's just part of the business I guess
Thanks for making this video, I've been saying this shit for years and people seem to be getting worse.
Oh yeah it's definitely getting worse
Scams you say, thats what I do.I teach Scam avoidance. As you well know theres are LOTS of scams out their.
Good! Lots of people need to learn how to identify scams
Yeah the price bashing thing is true for everything on FB.
Doesn’t matter what you post it’s always too high. I think people do it to make your thing you’re stupid and don’t know what you’re doing to try to get you to reprice it.
It's like everyone wants shit for free just because it's on Facebook.
Oh this ought to be a good video
The joys of owning a dealership
@@normalguysupercar I ran into so many similar things just trying to sell a few of my Corvettes as private sales.
Tree. Fiddy.
And a pizza?
@@normalguysupercar Maaaaaaaayyyyybeeeeeeee...
Don't eliminate us all! I'm a car girl. Enjoy your channel!!
nice! check out the Mclaren and Ferrari they have for sale, do either of those interest you to buy?
We certainly welcome women on this channel... Sadly not many are here though.
@@ke0kie Sorry, no I have a 2011 560-4 Gallardo and I'm lovin it! Love this channel too!
Oh wow a real live girl!😮
Welome, girlfriend!! As the main female Ferrari owner and Ferrari lover representing NGS, please consider staying, and checking out our live show Thursdays at 6pm. 😎🏁
Hey, Nigerian princes need supercars too!!!
True
I don't have a dealership, but I like to swap out cars often. I listed an 01 E55 AMG on marketplace. I immediately started getting scam attempts, and some wild offers. The one that surprised me the most was a guy who wanted to trade me a large amount of marijuana. I'm talking many pounds of it.. I've obviously had low ball offers. I had one guy who wanted to trade me a gigantic excavator for an M3. I would have to go pick it up too, wtf am I going to do with a 40,000lb excavator?
Lol you could dig a giant hole in your yard.
@@normalguysupercar The little kid in me thinks that would be fun, but I doubt my wife would find it as entertaining as me lol.
Been trying to sell my Ferrari and the lowball offers make me laugh hard.
It can be entertaining
Has anyone paid with bitcoing? Or offered to pay with BTC
Offered, yes.
I recently deleted my Facebook. Such a waste of time.
Yeah it is... But I've spent a bunch of time tuning it to only show me car stuff so that's ok with me.
Every time I watch Normal Guy Supercar, I hear the text message "bing" more than once which is the same one I have on my phone. So I keep getting tricked into checking my phone.
Haha sorry
@@normalguysupercar lol don't be sorry, it's hilarious. 😆
You don't need to make a big deal over the obvious demographic that buys these cars. I will boil it down further for you..middle aged white men. That is the demo, and all of the vehicle registrations in the USA for Porsche, Ferrari, and Lamborghini, back this up. Heck look at you and your partners, how many do not fit this demo? Even wealthy women do not see the value of driving a Ferrari, they will go for a luxury SUV, and the data backs this up as well. Certainly the supercar automakers know their demo, and who they are selling to. In the comments below..how many non-white men follow your channel? 1%? A lot of younger white men follow these supercar channels, but they have yet to achieve the income level required to buy and own one. Even a "cheap" used supercar at $100, 000 will be tough for a guy in his 20s or early 30s to buy. I am also happy to discuss the reasons why the people who drive supercars are middle aged white men, which will further inflame the discussion. 😀
Im still having problems understanding why you would have any trouble at all with as transparent your business is. In your world of exotics it seems to be EXTREMELY rare that anyone is forthright about presenting the vehicles actual condition.
Not everyone knows us or knows our videos.
@@normalguysupercar Every dollar spent advertising brings back 10 dollars in sales, or something like that from marketing class.
The fucking price complainers in Facebook groups are a cancer. Recently a dealership had posted a G63 AMG BELOW private party valuation and there still had to be multiple people crying about the price. My favorite ones are the ones who don't care about how rare it is, how desirable it is, what original MSRP was, etc. and just run with some generic BS like "No one is going to pay $70k for a car with 100k miles on it!".... Ummm when it's a hard to find car that sold for $250k new? Yes....yes they will.
Seriously! They drive me nuts
Asking for your phone number and then for the code "they" send you to make sure you are real sounds like they are trying to hack one of your accounts or services that requires 2-factor authentication... 😵
Yeah, probably.
“Cash” people are hilarious! Especially when you’re selling a small item on marketplace lol. Like woah, you mean instead of a check!? Lol
Right? It's so dumb. They act like this is some special thing that I should celebrate. We're selling Supercars... Lots of the buyers pay "cash".
Lol no one buying these cars pay cash, they borrow the banks money enjoy it and then get rid of it. I would love a silver 04 Gallardo or an NSX btw
Funny I was selling a lawn mower for $300. Guy sends me one message on Facebook I’ll give you a $100. I said sure, come get it. Then the questions came in. What’s wrong with it, why you selling it so cheap, yada, yada.. I couldn’t believe it. I ended up getting $300! Just took a bit of time.
Ugh. I hate that crap
First thing to do is dump Facebook. Other than seeing what your cousin had for lunch , it is basically a place to collect junk mail and ads from. Ever sell anything from there really ? If I was looking for a nice car no hassle that would be the place I never look. I have bought some smaller things there and 50/50 chance of a rip off. Buyers point of view is all I am saying. Oh and Moe needs some leaves scattered around the garage floor. That is why he is licking your feet ha ha.
Shockingly we have sold a few cars there so it's worth the annoyance
@@normalguysupercar That is a small shock to me. But if it works don't fix it.
Mo: "Sell your RV/Unicorn/whatever, and bring the $$$...
Lol
Scams are done to scripts from call centers - I had to feel sorry for one last week, he was following the script to sell LED lighting,.... and the guys taking the call were an electronics store that sells LED lighting......
Something tells me that didn't go well
Is it not possible to make your 599 sound like the GTO version( meaning intake sound) by putting the GTO intake system on it? Not sure if this is at all possible but would be SICK.
I don't know, I'm not sure anyone has done that
Dan you should really consider more trades like regular cars. You don't offer retail, and you could make much more money if you accept them. Usually offer MMR or less considering the condition that way you have room to make money even if you wholesale it. It just adds on to the profit of the cars you already have
The catch is storage for a bunch of cars... We don't have space right now
@@normalguysupercar Makes sense - in that case it’s not worth it
Why does cash not matter? Would you rather a loan check drawn from a credit union instead? Isn't faster to get liquid if it is cash or Cashier's check?
It can be faster yes, but that doesn't mean we are going to discount the price some dramatic amount
Hey Dan, your vehicle warranty is about to expire. Call me now to avoid loss of coverage.
Lol
I love the high energy Mo brings to the videos. He’s such a cutie.
Lol yes, high energy for sure
Hi Daniel.
Just checking in.
How is Megan And Munchkin doing?
Wishing Both You And All At Home A Wonderful Day.
Greetings from Trinidad 🇹🇹
Thank you. All is well here. Little man is great!
We're doing good! Thank you for asking.
Great video, Thank you. What's your thoughts on buying in the next 6 months? 2015 458 Spiders with 15k or less miles are priced around $290k. You see prices staying the same for a while?
I think they are gonna stay or maybe go up
@@normalguysupercar Thank you. 720s? Deciding between those 2. Love em both, nervous about Mclaren prices and reliability.
Hey mate, you are too smart to fall on a scam.
Well they haven't succeeded yet... Lol
@@normalguysupercar well hope is the last to die , my friend :D.
And handsome; you forgot handsome
I routinely get the impression that dealerships overprice by 25%, happens all the time, esp with boutique exotic dealers.
I've also had boutique exotic dealers respond to my CL car ads with ridiculous offers, eg 25% or more below listed price. It's always a text "will you take $X" where it's some crazy lowball offer. So, it goes both ways.
True
I get scams all the time too with my business. It gets to the point that I carefully engage with a few up to a point for my own entertainment. You all need to check out Jim Florentine's terrorizing telemarketers series.
Haha yes sometimes it's fun to fuck with them
I'll give you $100K for that.
It's finally sold already
Supercars are strong magnets for wannabes. LOL
True!
Mo was like "can you just calm down for me pls"
Lol
Trading a house is wild 😅
Yeah I'm not even sure how that would work
I know you offer advice for a fee. What would that consist of? Like that at a fair price, honest dealer, how, who and if you need a pre-purchase report etc.?
We try to tailor the consultation to whatever the client needs do long as it's within our range of expertise. So some or all of what you mentioned may be included
I was considering a 575M a while ago (pre-NG dealership) and used Dan's consulting service to discuss offer price, potential repairs, value of my 360 trade, etc. It was helpful to be able to talk things through with a neutral and knowledgeable person and the price was nominal given the magnitude of the transaction. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this service, and I suspect that Dan is even more knowledgeable now that he is more immersed in the buy/sell aspect of the business.
Now you’ve tipped them!
True
How about the stories where they looked like a scam but turned out to be real.
That is less common. Lol
Pizza and a box of donuts?! 😂😂😂
Oh now we're talking
How about $2?
Hmm
I thought the 360 was sold?
This video was not published in chronological order.
Yeah this video was filmed a few weeks ago
Dear Dan, I have been watching for years and want to buy the Ferrari 599. I am very reputable Nigerian princess Elena Mogabwe.
Seriously though...I do love the 599. I'm just too broke to buy it.
Haha yes we get that crap
Was that one woman the California auction? I've always said California's are chick Ferrari's.
Yes it was actually
Had a female txt me about an 09 Box S I had for sale on CL. She asked very few ques, mostly zeroed in on price. Red flags going up everywhere. So I call her # and a guy answers (red flag) and he says she wasn't there (another red flag). I asked for her to call and she did 30 min later. Asked her to send a photo of her driver's license, which she did. She and her husband drove 4 hrs to look at my car. She still didn't say much except she would buy it. I asked her why she had so few ques. She said she'd been looking for a while and knew what she wanted and my ad and photos hit everything she was looking for. I said she set off at least 6 red flags, but I was glad she was real.
The latest scam is for a buy to want YOU to buy some car report similar to a CarFax. But you as the owner are supposed to pay for the report. All it is is a chc for them to get your cc info. But they don't lead with buying the report, they ask intelligent ques about your car. All done by txt. I won't give the vin unless they call me.
Yeah I'm not saying all women should be ignored... But 99% of the women contacting us on FB are scams.
Hey Dan congratulations I've been a subscriber for a couple years and I don't know you fell off my feed and you pop back up a couple days ago and now you have a dealership last video as I saw you had with the 599 into get the manual transmission. That's super great you're parlaying your knowledge and not just being an advisor but selling cars yourself. I'm an independent insurance adjuster and have my dealer license for several years in between the hurricanes and hailstorms and I can concur with everything you're saying I wasn't selling $200,000 cars but three grand a 50 Grand from using nice Infinities to Bentley Continental I've got stories of plenty of the silliest messages and offers and having my shipping company come grab it and everything you said is true and more. I'm glad we're back together at Orange McLaren is sexy I'm interested and will be following your exploits see what neat things come and go and tell MoeI said ruff ruff;
Thank you
Ok, but I hear you guys like Chevy Malibu's, so you'd take one of them in part ex, right?
Lol yes
Facebook is full of those idiots, my mams, brothers dog picked one of them up for this price 6 years ago. Happens on all levels of the market.
Yup
Not go lie I did offer dan my lp560 for the auction murci he respectfully declined 😂😂😂
Haha
Does a beer come with the car?
It can
