Yes like most single lever paddles it could be used as a side swiper but it would feel sloppy. For a cootie key you need a solid lever with no "mechanisms"...No transitions or extra levers....just a lever with two contacts. Many attempts have bee tried to improve upon the simple hacksaw blade and I've tried them all but as far as I'm concerned there's nothing better.
