I love what the doctor said, how he prefers to save his good news for the end of the day so he could go home with a sense of hope.

Herrmann and Cindy are the hearts of 51. From way back when Cindy was having their 5th baby and Herrmann was held hostage, I feel like you can't help but root for these two for all the good things. I'm glad she was in remission. The writers did good by the story and for the fans. As the daughter of a cancer survivor, TV got it right.

That station has a lot of hearts. Sadly some of them have left like Otis. But we can't forget their own care bear Mouch is a heart to.

It truly is a beautiful moment. My sympathy to you in your loss of that family member. Cancer is a hard battle. My mom is currently 7 years of remission from breast cancer & I remember the day she rang the bell. She didn't have to have chemo thankfully but she has done well

yeah I actually had a client like this (not in a medical capacity, but through veteran's affairs), who had terminal cancer, and his prognosis was only like 6+ months when he came into our office. so he was very much trying to square things away for his family for when he was going to be gone VERY soon. And yeah, it was rough, because the VA was dragging their heels on a few things, and also scheduling him for a follow-up eval ABOUT the cancer specifically, but the follow-up was 2 years later, even though it was going to kill him in 6months. And that follow-up was what was delaying him getting some specific benefits. So we had to basically slap VA and make them notice that he didn't have that long, and to go ahead and qualify him as permanent and totally disabled NOW. That was a stressful session while we had to go over that stuff.

I've lost several family members to a large array of types of cancer, and am currently spending the last bits of time with a father who is going to lose his battle with Stage 4 Metastatic Lung Cancer, Stage 2 Bone Cancer.

I really felt this when I saw the episode. I’m halfway thru treatment for breast cancer (double mastectomy, chemo, now radiation) & the waiting for test & lab results is the worst! It’s the not knowing that drives me up a wall. Chemo side effects? Piece of cake! Wait two weeks to find out my chance of recurrence? Arrrrrrgh! It’s like that old prayer, “Dear God, grant me patience, NOW!”😂

💙🙏🏽💙 I hope she is getting very good treatment! If she does not feel she connects with any one of her doctors, if they don’t explain things well or don’t have patience with her etc, I highly recommend she seeks another Dr out! I also hope she can connect with a support group of others who have been through it and understand her, and will be glad to help out. In my area there are two very good cancer support networks, and my hospital just started cancer support & therapy groups for heart, mind, body and soul. Please check near your mom, if she is not already part of a group like this. And most of all, pray, ask God to help, and do not give up hope! While there is life, there is hope!
My sister and I are now cancer free, but my dad has a type of blood cancer which cannot be cured. Still, with the advancements they have made and experimental things he has done, & now with the help of immunotherapy, he is still alive many years later! Blessings on your mom and your family. 💙🙏🏽💙🌻

I hope she feels guilty after hearing that he wanted to take home something good from all the bad he hears all day. Just because your sick doesn’t mean you can be a jerk to everyone else. Sounded like it was a scheduling problem and he didn’t know they had scheduled you already and it was still going to be the same day. Later when the news isn’t so fresh I hope she apologized to him. You don’t get a free pass to be a Karen because you’re going through something horrible. Some humans seem to only care about their own feelings when something bad happens and tries to make others feel just as bad.
