I've had my electric bike over 2yrs. I LOVE IT! The ability to ride up hills is a complete game changer. I've rode up a 6% grade for over a mile just peddling around 10mph. In the past I walked my mtn. bike up that section. LOL
Awesome!
In Germany and without a car, I was only able to explore our beautiful Hills of 400-500 m after 20 years when we got our First MTB E-Bikes. So great, I love it! 👍👍
I got old and the hills got so much steeper, I had to walk some hills. Now going uphill is the same speed as going downhill. Feels like flying! ( I used to be a messenger in the 80's....those days of infinite power are gone at 60.)
We need more videos like this that put Larry’s legs on full display!
Lol! 😅
😂
😂😂
LOL! I don't think that would be very exciting, really. 😄
Great review! I built my bike so when people ask what a good bike to buy I never had a good answer. I will have to give this link.
The bike can be more than recreational riding. I had my Ebike around 7 years now and it's still fun to ride. I do more day to day tasks like today is Friday and I drive around town to garage sales and shop at the grocery store. One important thing you would need when parking the Ebike in the city is a good lock.
Many people think that an Ebike is a city bike but it can be used for country riding. My sister lives 5 miles from me and 2 miles out of town. She has plants that need watering and I will ride there and take a daily ride there on the Ebike.
The Ebikes are becoming more popular. The owner of the local bike shop said he is now selling one Ebike after selling two regular bikes.
Excellent, Steve. I know you really enjoy your home-made bike. Thank you for your kind remarks.
@@larryware1 I should do upgrades this winter and add the lcd display. All I have is a battery voltage display and 51v is around 50% of the battery is used up.
Great review. Very detailed. It's great you ride almost everyday 🌻
Thank you, Cindy.
Really good in-depth review Larry. Ride safe.
Thank you, Rob. Will do.
Such a fabulous review. These folks should put you in training videos.
Thank you, Carolyn. You are too kind.
What a cool bike with so many nice features! I know you’ve gotten a lot of joy out of riding it.
Thank you, Magnificenti! I have over 5,000 miles on it now and absolutely love riding it. BTW, I love photographing horses and making up to the friendly ones. I discovered a Clydesdale farm about a month ago - absolutely beautiful horses!
Thanks for the review, just bought a magicycle and your review solidified my opinion on it being a good purchase.
Old school rear view, haven't seen one in decades! Now I have to get one!
I'm assuming you're taking about the rear view mirrors. I really like them. They give it an almost motorcycle appearance.
Wow! What an amazing review, very professional and informative. You were very specific. Great work !
Great review Larry. Looks like a wonderful ebike.
Thank you. I love it!
Great share, guys. You gave a great detailed review, Larry. 👍
Thank you, Joel & Christy.
Mr. Fancy Pants 4000! I didn’t realize you had a cruiser style. Mine is the Ocelot Pro for long range. Very similar but with some differences like tire size.
LOL! (Too funny, Prepper). At the time I got my bike, Magicycle only offered one style, the cruiser in the step-thru or step-over style. That was it. Since my bike was produced they've come out with SO many more models to suit more individual needs. The Ocelot Pro has been a favorite design among those who are on the Magicycle FaceBook group. Since I'm tall (6'4"), I wouldn't be as comfortable on the Ocelot. I'm so glad you are enjoying your e-bikes and love watching your UA-cam channel! Thanks for the comment and keep on being frugal!
Yeah with your height you have the best bike for you. You’re right, the Ocelot would probably be too small.
@@PrepperPrincessHow tall are you?
Great review! Thanks!🚲😎
Great Video Larry!! Love those eBikes!!
Thank you, Ubwaterman! They are a lot of fun!
great review.
This was very helpful...thanks so much!
You are so welcome, Joyce!
Great review sir. I just bought one for Black Friday. Free seat plus free trailer...👍
Great video! Thanks Larry! 😊
Thank you, Jennifer!
Great video. I like the part about about slowing down for walkers, family’s and I’ll add dogs. It’s amazing how appreciative people are when you do this and it earns brownie points for us all. I just tell people I’m not in a hurry (although it it is fun to “give er” when safe to do so) and if I don’t have time to slow down and share the path, I shouldn’t be on the path. I’m retired and have put on 8000 (5000 miles) Km in a year. But that’s only 7 months of riding as I put it away for winter. I also live in the city with the largest urban park in North America. Our entire river valley is one big park. I’m looking forward to your next video.
Excellent comment, Bob. You're creating a great relationship between e-bikers and pedestrians.
Thank you! This was very interesting. ❤
You are so welcome!
I have to agree that Magicycle is worth the extra you pay.
My magicycle is too much fun ...fixing flats you will need tire spoons ...rear flat repair a bit time consuming...but a great ride ....
So glad you enjoying the ride on your Magicycle! They are really fun!!!
Yes, it's a nice bike! Bought one identical to yours last year but, sadly, I have a hard time getting on it so I'm thinking I'll sell it having only ridden it once. Just can't get my leg over the seat...old guy problems...had my wife help me get on it!
So sorry to hear that, Tim. They sell smaller bikes that are easier to get on and off of.
@@larryware1 My wife informed me her half sister is interested so selling should be easy enough.
Actually, I'm thinking a recumbent would be better in my case.
I’ve heard good reports about this bike
Thank you for reaffirming my decision to by the base model cruiser. My only negative is I'm getting that kind of rang maybe I'm using the throttle more than you but it's so much fun to do. The other is top speed I would like a little more 28-29 is good but some newer bikes are claiming 35-40 , but are they the same guilty of construction? Anyway magicycle excellent value and I agree about the mechanical brakes and power. Thanks Larry excellent review
Thank you Donald. I would never want to ride between 35-40 mph. My typical speed is between 13 & 15 mph. If you get the Magicycle Cruiser (or any Magicycle) you can go into the settings and set the throttle to 28 mph. That's fast enough on one of these.
I use a tow strap to prevent flats and use a sealant I can ride through a sticker patch it's fine
Good for you, Tommy! I've had no flats since putting on the heavy-duty inner tube and inserting sealant. Over 5,000 miles now.
Quick-release levers need to be checked regularly. If loose, the wheel can come off. Go to a bike shop if unsure.
Found that out!
Thanks for the review.. Sounds like a pretty good bike.. I think the batteries are bigger now and they have hydraulic breaks.. So 2 improvements.. I really like your mirrors.. Are you still having issues with flat tires? Do you know if there is a different kind of tire that doesn't get flats?
I have heavy duty inner tubes and a sealant put into the inner tubes. With those two improvements I've had NO flats.
Do you ever think they will come out with a three wheeler electric bike painted yellow. I would love one with a basket on the back.
Don't know about that, Teresa. There are several 3-wheel e-bikes out there, however.
I've spent most of the video trying to read the dedication plaques.... Please tell me what they say. Great in-depth video.
Oh, I'll have to go back up to Grand View Drive and photograph them. Thank you, Copperstarr.
@@larryware1 Bless your heart, thanks :)
Larry, could you please go into your advance settings and figure out why my comments do not show up in the chat during your live premieres? i contacted yt and they never respond back to me after several attempts. Thank You. I love your's and Hope's YT channel.
Gosh, Richard. That seems like something on the UA-cam end. So sorry you're having that trouble.
That's outside of our expertise, Richard. UA-cam will need to address that technical issue.
does these pedaling help charge the battery as u pedal or does it help the battery loss of power?
I never use the throttle. And rarely leave pas1.
You're getting some good exercise, Gary!
And I would ride 500 miles...
Super!
Do you have to peddle? I find that since I grew up, I get a very sore spot at the base of my spine from peddling. Discovered after a spin class. It takes months to go away.
You don't have to peddle, but I do. You can ride the bike in throttle mode and just ride it like a motorcycle.
@@larryware1 thank you for the info Larry.
How tall are you, Larry?
Does an electric bike need to be licensed as a moped does?
No. It's considered a bicycle. Also, It's not considered a "Motor Vehicle" so when you see signs that indicate "No Motor Vehicles" you can ignore them for e-bikes.
May I suggest purchasing Flat-Out tube sealer. And for under 20 bucks, you will NEVER have another flat again. -Not even lying.
Thanks, Daryl. Tire sealants are a real life-saver.
@@larryware1 you're welcome... and I used to get a lot of flats because BIKE LANES are FULL of glass, sharp debris from auto accidents, nails, wood-screws, etc. so even though those lanes were DESIGNED for bikes, they are the absolute WORSE for tires/tubes. -Flat-Out has Kevlar floating around it's liquid solution, which seals the leaked air and lasts the duration of the tube.-They CLAIM "10 years" but even if it lasts an entire season of riding flat-free, it's been worth it to me
Also, the side-benefit is... a MUCH more cushioned ride.
Yep. Good advice. I did the same thing and I no longer get flats. I hear you can still get flats, but it's like you eliminate 90% of them. Some people put motorcycle tires on, but they increase the weight of the bike by 5 pounds per tire.
I have had no flats since adding the sealant to the inner tubes@@Onlybhstrpes. That was a life saver!
Do ebikes require a license, insurance or property tax?
Lower 48 States No Registration License Inspection Or Insurance Needed Unless You Live In Idaho That Requires Insurance.
No. They are considered a bicycle.
How many points (money) did magicycle give you for this video?
Not a penny.
Bar2606, this is an accurate assessment of the Magicycle Cruiser. I now have over 5,000 miles on it and absolute love the bike. This is a good product. No money involved, just wanted to follow up on the initial video that I did shortly after receiving the bike. Thank you for your question.
Magicycle gave him the E bike
