Snape's backstory wasn't even tragic. He literally just didn't get the girl he was creepily lusting for. Unless there's something else I'm forgetting, which I probably am. I haven't read those books in a long time lol
Same. I read an excerpt from the first book and didn't like it, one year later our teacher read the whole book to us but I didn't manage to pay attention. One year after that I watched the first movie when it came to the cinemas. I loved it, and started reading the books on my own and loved them even more.
ayoo4533 Me to I never knew that I would love it so much but now I’m reading the books and watching the movies and now I’m OBSESSED with HP. I want everything hp related 😝
Nisha Sao I read one book, then the following movie, and just continued that. It makes sense because then after reading one book, you get to see it come to life in a movie. (Like the first book, then the first movie, e.t.c.) :) Just a suggestion!
Tracy Osimowicz Saaaaame the idea of a heist sounded so boring to me but when I read it I couldn't stop! And that book still has a huge impact on me even months after finishing it. XD
SAME HERE!!!! I honestly don’t remember what I thought it was about (it was really inaccurate; I know that much) but that series just totally blew all my expectations out of the water! It is now tied with KotLC as my second favorite series of all time
Saaaaame I finished it the other day I LOVE IT SO MUCH Can I just hug them all and tell them it’s gonna be ok because they are such troubled lil children (*realises I called people older than me lil children*) THEY ARE MY BABIES
Haha I love your answer for the popular tropes you're tired of seeing I hadn't thought of any of those but they're so true good guys need love too! Also yes to your bonus question I def. loved Fangirl way more than I thought I would it's On my way! Of my fav. Contemporaries. Thanks for doing my tag :-)
jessethereader i have a question for u . I love books but have sooo much trouble on finding a good book . Can you give me some suggestions on your favorite books please ? thanks
I'm a sucker for bad guys with tragic pasts if I must admit. Will Herondale (especially this one. He's my most loved character) Noah Shaw, Damon Salvatore, Jace, Rhysand, etc. I love Dorian
+Amelle Kyre Well I meant to say like bad boys. And I don't think he's bad either (I love him more than any other fictional character) but he has the "bad boy" vibe especially in the first book.
+Sophie Luvs Books Haha I agree so much! Will, Damon, and Rhysand are literally the best! I'm worried Jesse won't like Will when he continues the series though.
+Chelsea S Me too! I'm worried too! But for me Will completely won me over in the second book. I do love Jem, but Will honestly is really the one who broke my heart. And I've read the series twice. I think in the second book there's a better chance Jesse will like him because of you know spoilers but I'm still worried that he won't like him. To each their own but I REALLY HOPE HE LIKES HIM BY THE SECOND BOOK.
People hate Red Queen?! How?! The moment I read Red Queen I fell in love. It's so amazingly written and the characters are great (yes even the villain in this series is amazing)
"A butt-ton" is my new favorite unit of measurement I feel like I'm the only one that didn't like red queen XD I hear a lot of great things about it!!!! Ugh chaolaena ughhhhhhh I feel the same way about sci fi! But recently I've been reading more of it *whispers "no Jesse, keep talking shit about Adam"* Lmao bad guys with tragic back stories XD I heard "sh" and for a split second I thought you were going to say "Shadowhunters" and my heart stopped *i let out a breath I was FULLY AWARE I was holding when it wasn't Shadowhunters*
+emmmabooks I don't like Red Queen either. I had a hate for it with a burning passion my mom and best friend now want to read it to see why I complain about it so often. It's just one of those books that sets me off.
My favorite book series is Harry Potter. Didn't expect to like it because up until I was in like fifth grade I said it was horrible and it didn't sound interesting , then I read it, and I fell in love with it.
I was never really interested in "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," but after watching your videos and observing your COMPLETE OBSESSION with it, I started the first book and OH MY HECK it's sooooooooooooo good I binge read the first one and I'm almost done with the second book. THEY'RE SO AWESOME THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR INTRODUCING MY TO SUCH AN AMAZING SERIES.
When I heard #8 I was like *_OH HELLLL NOOO_* hehe. Anyways, the book series is called _A Song Of Ice and Fire_ not _Game of Thrones_ but its okay, a lot of people make that mistake. The name of the TV series comes from the first book which is called _A Game of Thrones_. :D
At first I wasnt really expecting to like the Infernal Devices as I read the Mortal Instruments ( till book 4) and i just couldnt get into it. But then i decided to pick up Clockwork Angel and i was pleasantly surprised by the whole plot. I think The Infernal Devices trilogy was the series that made me feel like finishing the Mortal Instruments haha.
Also, I wasn't a big fan of Adam in If I Stay either. Maybe because my nephew is named Adam and I was hoping he wouldn't end up like this guy. He was just so...ugh
Jessie, I love your videos! You are one of my favorite Book Tubers, just a few I love are PolandbannanasBooks, Katytastic, and abookutopia. and what I love is that even in a video about books you don't like you still remain respectful. You do not swear or judge you simply share your well thought out opinion and it's very refreshing. To answer your question there isn't a book I thought I'd hate and then love but I do have a habit of getting a book with a really ugly cover and have the story be soo good.
I didn't go into The Mortal Instruments series expecting much, but now I'm so addicted that I never stop thinking about that series. I love it so much.
1) Popular book series I didn't like: Twilight. Not enough action, boring plot, didn't like the main character. 2) Book that I love but everyone else hates: Can't think of one...maybe Me Before You? idk I've just come across a lot of criticism for it, and also for the movie. 3) An OTP that I'm not a fan of: wait does this have to be a canon ship or can it be non-canon? If it was canon, tbh I'm not a fan of Bella/Edward from Twilight. If it's non-canon, I'm not a fan of Harry/Hermione from Harry Potter. ROMIONE FTW!!! 4) A popular book genre I hardly reach for: either horror or romance XD I can do romance, as long as there's some action or something else happening. If it's just 300 pages of "ooh, I love him," "ooh, he doesn't love me back," "ooh, we're meant to be," "ooh, he's so handsome," then nah, sorry. 5) A popular/beloved book character I didn't like: (was going to comment Bella again but then decided I couldn't answer three questions with Twilight) Umm, Gale Hawthorne from The Hunger Games? *ducks as stuff gets thrown at me* I love The Hunger Games! It's one of my favourite series! I just didn't like Gale, he seemed so angry and jealous all the time. 6) A popular author I can't get into: JRR Tolkein. I'm aware that his novels are classics and are amazing and really popular blah blah blah, but I just can't get past the first book! There's so much description, and he seems to be one of those authors that uses ten words when they could use two, you know? 7) A popular book trope I'm tired of seeing: FUCKING LOVE TRIANGLES they are so overused and overrated and unnecessary! Like, The Hunger Games could've just been a story about a girl fighting against a tyrannical government who unjustly forces children to kill each other every year and makes people watch, and that is what it's about, but Suzanne Collins just HAD to add a love triangle :/ it just didn't need to be there tbh. 8) A popular series I have no interest in reading: I do try to read a lot of books, and I don't tend to say no to reading a series. I would say LOTR here, but the thing is that I am actually interested in reading it, I just can't get through it. Maybe the Cormoran Strike novels by Robert Galbraith aka JK Rowling, because I just feel like the Harry Potter novels were her best novels, and I don't think her adult novels are as good. Don't kill me, I'm still young! *ducks again* 9) Book-to-movie adaptation I liked better than the book: The Princess Bride by William Golding. I think the movie might actually have come out first, before the book, but still I liked the movie better. 10) A popular book I wasn't expecting to like: City of Bones by Cassandra Clare! Mainly because someone described it to me and it sounded a bit like Twilight to me, but then I read it and I loved it and I've now read the entire series and all the prequels and all the sequels and all the spinoffs and holy crap they are amazing and you should go read them now.
Ella Lightwøød-Høwlter I haven't seen anybody who hates Me before you. And also I understand you. I started Lotr so many time before I finally got through it, but it is worth it. But I'm not going to read it ever again. I also enjoyed the movies more than the books and I feel terrible for that 😥🙄
Ella Lightwøød-Høwlter i found when reading LoTR skimming over the party helps...I think that's what stumps most people cause as you've noted Tolkien is really descriptive
YESSS I agree with you on the 3rd question, i really didn't understand why people shipped harry and hermione because they're like siblings to me, so ROMIONE ALL THE WAY and i really ship hinny too!! alsooo, im reading city of ashes right now so now im looking forward to reading the rest of the series YAY HAHAHAH
I didn't expect to like Harry Potter, but now it's my all time favourite series(I'm so in love with it!), and I am so happy to have read it....so so happy
I really wasn't excepting to like Paper Towns, but I loved it in the end...it was my first John Green book, because I refused and still refuse to read The Fault in Our Stars.
+Library-Geek Honestly I hated the Fault in our Stars when I read it. I still hate it with a passion. But I actually really loved the movie, so personally I can say you're not missing out if you just watch the movie.
+Library-Geek Nooo, I love it so much more then Paper Towns. Books that really touch me and evoke emotions tend to be favorites though. You may not cry AS much because you know what happens.
this gonna sound weird but i felt like the HP series was over hyped i went through the first book waiting to hate and be like yo people this book is not that awesome but i ended up enjoying it and really loving the HP world
You are missing out on a lot of fun...Like...Read The Infernal Devices if you don't feel like reading The Mortal Instruments. It's certainly a lot better. And Lady Midnight as well.
I read the first two books of the mortal instruments and part of the 3rd book and really disliked the author's style, found the series incredibly boring overall. you're not really missing anything by not reading them.
Ru Forman As stated above...Cassandra Clare's writing improves....especially in the Infernal Devices and The Dark Artifices which in my opinion is are billions of times better than The Mortal Instruments. And when I say better I mean like, amazingly better....It's okay if one doesn't read The Mortal Instruments but atleast you could read The Infernal Devices...
XD...I understand why you wouldn't like The Mortal Instruments...But come on, it's The Infernal Devices...I'm not forcing you to read them but, keep them in mind...
Why do the bad guys get the girls? Why cant it be the good guys? *clear throat and brings out speech* Well young males of the male species and young Jesse, I have come to enlighten you. Believe it or not. Girls. Hate. The. Douches. Bup, bup, bup. Shhh. I would know. I don’t want to go into my back story but basically this douche of a guy who cheated on my bestie four times went after me and *SKIP*. But we like the mysterious and the rouge-ness and the danger and the dark cloud. WE FREAKING LOVE IT Example: Sebastian form TMI; Drake Merwin from Gone (only on Lies no spoilers); Cam from Fallen (on on Rapture No spoilers) I just love that bad guy-ness and I cant ever like see how evil eh is I’m just like: _Come to me. Love me. Need me. Yearn for me_ It’s an obsession I need to fix.
You might wanna start runnin ' cos the haters are a cummin! Also I know what you mean when you spoke of 'Queen of Shadows' that certain someone that appeared in the third book.... I SHIP THEM....sorry.
To #7… but Kaz… I mean common you have six of Crows standing there and Kaz is one of the most interesting characters I have ever read about… and he's bad because of his tragic backstory… and okay about the girls stuff, that's still in motion (haven't read crooked kingdom yet so no spoilers), So I think you should add that badly built up bad guys with tragic backstories are annoying but if a character is really well built up, it's just amazing
When u said "chaoleana for life" I literally fell in love with u...I LOVE TEM BOTH TOGETHER SOOOOOO MUCH! FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME! the ending of the second book ripped my heart into little pieces
the lunar chronicals, I didn't think I was going to enjoy this series but I am in love with it! I love the premise of the stories and I think it should be put into a movie hands down! lol
I love this tag, I need to film it myself sometime soon I knew a lot of people loved Vicious by V. E. Schwab and from reading the premise I didn't think I was going to enjoy it but I ended up loving it sooo much!!
Totally agree with your answer for "Book you love but everyone seems to hate" I am freaking in love with Red Queen!! And I can't wait for the sequel, and omg it's going to be a 4 book series instead of a trilogy!!! :D
I'm going to have to say the divergent series by Veronica Roth. Not because I didn't think I would like it, but because I must have been living under a rock when they came out because I had no idea they existed until one of my girls in my book club made it her book pick (this wasn't recently, this was before the movies... don't worry, I'm not under that big of a rock!) and holy Batman, Robin, I was hooked. After reading that first book, my book club and I changed all the next books for our meetings so we could finish off the series. Great video! You're actually the first guy booktuber I've subscribed to. Can't wait to watch more of your videos. Don't be surprised if I comment on videos you've had posted for years because I'm going to watch them all! 💙💙
Red queen. Loved the first book Thought the second book dragged on Started the third book, but didn’t finish I’m thinking about reading the series again.
A popular one I wasn't expecting to like but did was the Anna and the French Kiss series. I usually don't read contemporary YA because the characters tend to be whiny, but this series was really cute and sweet and really made me rethink my stance on that genre.
I have the gift of usually going into a book with no expectations but I don't think I expected to love the hunger games as much as I do! Side note I just started the mortal instruments series and am loving it so far and I have you to thank for recommending it endlessly! Hoping to get to Miss Pereguine's soon!
I didn't expect to enjoy The 5th Wave when I picked it up a year and a half ago. I've never really been that into the whole alien thing, but now that series has a place on my favorites shelf!
Agree with everything. Especially on Celorian, Game of Thrones and bad guys. Love the video! Don't stop being true to yourself, it's great and original.
To answer your question, mine would be Illuminae! I'm halfway through and so hooked! I don't usually read sci-fi but there is so much going on! That's part of what's taking me so long to get through it, too, because I read it before bed and I'm tired and can't process it after a while. Gotta fix that.
Finally. I was kinda waiting for you to do this tag. Lauren Oliver's books are hit or miss for me. I love Delirium trilogy but I hate Before I Fall. lol. As for your question, I didn't expect to like "You" by Caroline Kepnes. Not really a fan of mystery/thriller books but I've listened to it as an audio book and I ended up loving it. Great video Jesse!
I agree with you: "Red Queen" it's so good book! I love it so much! Fortunately, the second part has already been translated into Polish, so I can read it *-* Hope it'll be as good as "Red Queen".
the literal whole reason you're my favourite booktuber is because we consistently have ALL THE SAME OPINIONS on books like if a book has a lot of great reviews that's a good sign for me but if you love it it's like SO MUCH MORE because we love and hate all of the same books!!
Popular book I wasn't expecting to like but did? I'm going to have to go with an ARC I received, if that counts. If so, then I definitely say The Crown's Game by Evelyn Skye. If I have to choose a released book... Maybe the Hunger Games??? I don't often read books if I'm not expecting to like them. :P
I just finished Red Queen and I really loved it too! I expecting not to like it since I kept hearing such negative reviews but I thought it was really enjoyable!
I instantly thought of Snape when he said he's tired of bad guys having tragic back stories XD
Same XD
Julie Oram Same 🤣
Well atleast he's just a one sided lover XD
He's not bad but he's not good
Snape's backstory wasn't even tragic. He literally just didn't get the girl he was creepily lusting for. Unless there's something else I'm forgetting, which I probably am. I haven't read those books in a long time lol
I envy you for your bookshelves. :)
Shubhangi Gatti same 😍💯
Ikr me too. You know you're a bookworm when...
Your not the only one lol
I envy him for his books not the shelves
i did NOT expect to even like harry potter. GUESS WHO HAS FALLEN TOO DEEP IN THE FANDOM
I want everything hp related 😝
ayoo4533 same I am forever angry that I watched the movies before I read the books because I didn’t anticipate liking the story line.
Same I never thought of being in the hp fandom but here I am wearing a Gryffindor tie XD
Nisha Sao I read one book, then the following movie, and just continued that. It makes sense because then after reading one book, you get to see it come to life in a movie. (Like the first book, then the first movie, e.t.c.) :) Just a suggestion!
totally understand and agree. RED QUEEN IS AWESOME
I just finished it and now I have to find one that lives up to it
I wasn't expecting to like "Six of Crows" as much as I did but it turned out to be one of the most exciting books I've ever read!
Tracy Osimowicz Saaaaame the idea of a heist sounded so boring to me but when I read it I couldn't stop! And that book still has a huge impact on me even months after finishing it. XD
Tracy Osimowicz I'm currently reading it .....I'm in love with it
Omg you should read the Grisha Trilogy. It's written by the same author who wrote Six of Crows. It's soooooo good
SAME HERE!!!! I honestly don’t remember what I thought it was about (it was really inaccurate; I know that much) but that series just totally blew all my expectations out of the water! It is now tied with KotLC as my second favorite series of all time

Can you give me some suggestions on your favorite books please ? thanks
Aw who could hate you, Jesse?
Totally agree on Adam. Was okay with him in If I Stay but OH MY GODS HE WAS UGH IN WHERE SHE WENT!
I didn't expect to love the Lunar Chronicles when I started reading them.
But, my stars, am I obsessed now.
Megan Martens same
RED QUEEN IS SO BASIC BUT I DON'T CARE. I LIKE IT.
BLESS. IM NOT ALONE.
+jessethereader NOT ALWAYS THE BAD GUYS GET THE GIRLS...
My favorite trope is when the "bad guys" have a tragic back story and ends up with the girl :)
Same
Totally sounds like Rhysand from ACOTAR. Love him!
That’s my least favorite 😂😂💀
No! God no! Hate that!
...shatter me series
I'm a sucker for bad guys with tragic pasts if I must admit. Will Herondale (especially this one. He's my most loved character) Noah Shaw, Damon Salvatore, Jace, Rhysand, etc.
I love Dorian
Will isn't a bad guy
+Amelle Kyre Well I meant to say like bad boys. And I don't think he's bad either (I love him more than any other fictional character) but he has the "bad boy" vibe especially in the first book.

+emmmabooks I don't like Red Queen either. I had a hate for it with a burning passion my mom and best friend now want to read it to see why I complain about it so often. It's just one of those books that sets me off.
I didn't really like Red Queen either, the first book was good, but the rest books I found boring.
I liked the red queen but it could get slow at times
When did Jesse start saying "hella"? 😂 I love it!
+Bookin It i actually said hecka ;)
That's even Better xD
I didn't expect to enjoy I'll Give You the Sun but holy crap I loved it so much.
I didn't expect to love that book as much as i did either!
That book blew my mind.
profoundly agree
+Warning_Known_Fangirl it was surprisingly amazing!
I've read about half of it and just stopped because contemporary isn't my favourite genre but reading this comment makes me want to pick it up again!
My favorite book series is Harry Potter. Didn't expect to like it because up until I was in like fifth grade I said it was horrible and it didn't sound interesting , then I read it, and I fell in love with it.
I get it. My mom made me sit down and read it in 7th grade. Best thing she ever made me do.
I LOVE RED QUEEN SO MUCH

YES! YAAAAAAAASSS! A FELLOW CHAOL AND CELAENA SHIPPER! I've felt so alone amongst the sea of Rowan lovers XD

YESSS I agree with you on the 3rd question, i really didn't understand why people shipped harry and hermione because they're like siblings to me, so ROMIONE ALL THE WAY and i really ship hinny too!! alsooo, im reading city of ashes right now so now im looking forward to reading the rest of the series YAY HAHAHAH
this is the best channel about books I have ever watched, omggg 💙
for me out was the shatter me series
I didn't expect to like Harry Potter, but now it's my all time favourite series(I'm so in love with it!), and I am so happy to have read it....so so happy
I don't enjoy the city of bones series , why so many people love them?am I miss somethings?😰
I only read the first book but I wasn't too impressed with it either, so you're not alone ;D
Heidi Cheng I red the books and I was really disappointed
Guys u have to read the first and second book the second one is better
@@kitty-yv1wo whats the point reading a book u don't enjoy with a hope u would like the second
@@damienjones12 becuase there's a hope of liking the second and possibly falling in love with a new series
I didn't expect ti like the Throne of glass series, but I love it
I LOVE RED QUEEN
AnimeGeek whats it about?
1:22 OMG THANK YOU
THIS IS MY FIRST VIDEO OF YOURS AND I THINK I LOVE YOU NOW BECAUSE OF THAT
I don't ship Celorian but Chaolaena is dead and Rowaelin is endgame now!
Is that a spoiler?!?!?!
+Read Sleep Eat Repeat no it means the ship is dead
yayy!!! Rowan is bae
lubna loves Ikr!! LOVE him
Lacey Pitts Omg I really hope not...Rowaelin is everything T.T
I'm over the love triangles, so over them. They drive me crazy, especially since most of the it serves no real purpose.
Watch terrible writing advice. He loves making fun of that one!
I really wasn't excepting to like Paper Towns, but I loved it in the end...it was my first John Green book, because I refused and still refuse to read The Fault in Our Stars.
I wanted to read Fault in our Stars until the movie came out and everyone spoiled it for me :(
Elsie Crown
Well that's a sad day. :(
I know what happens as well but I still refuse to read it because I don't want to ball my eyes out.
+Library-Geek Honestly I hated the Fault in our Stars when I read it. I still hate it with a passion. But I actually really loved the movie, so personally I can say you're not missing out if you just watch the movie.
Sarah Henley
Good to know I'm not missing anything. Lol.
+Library-Geek Nooo, I love it so much more then Paper Towns. Books that really touch me and evoke emotions tend to be favorites though. You may not cry AS much because you know what happens.
I love you are easily one of my fav booktubers
this gonna sound weird but i felt like the HP series was over hyped i went through the first book waiting to hate and be like yo people this book is not that awesome but i ended up enjoying it and really loving the HP world
esraa khalid I love the series, but I think that Harry Potter the character is overrated
@@rachaelelizabethbam5087 harry potter is the only underrated character in the whole Harry potter series.
no one could ever hate you omg
I liked Red Queen, but I sort of really disliked Mare sometimes. And I have no interest in reading city of bones or any other books in the series.
I really felt like I gave her a good chance and her books just didn't impress me. It's great that you enjoy them but her books just aren't for me.
XD...I understand why you wouldn't like The Mortal Instruments...But come on, it's The Infernal Devices...I'm not forcing you to read them but, keep them in mind...
I LOVED Percy Jackson. I saw the movies first, so I wasn't expecting the book to be soooooooo good!!
WE FREAKING LOVE IT
Example: Sebastian form TMI; Drake Merwin from Gone (only on Lies no spoilers); Cam from Fallen (on on Rapture No spoilers)
I just love that bad guy-ness and I cant ever like see how evil eh is I’m just like: _Come to me. Love me. Need me. Yearn for me_
It’s an obsession I need to fix.
I love your username!
Thank you!
I LOVE CAM FROM FALLEN! MY FRIEND AND I FANGIRL OVER HIM SOOOOOO MUCH! I LOVE THE FALLEN SERIES NO MATTER WHAT ANYBODY SAYS,
!
Anna Tanner AGH IKR I LOVED HIM SINCE THE DAY I MET HIM
I loved Red Queen too!I've recently started reading The Selection;I thought I was gonna hate it,but I honestly think it is AMAZING!
if u are the kind of person who are super petty and disliked this video because u disagreed with his opinion .... shame :((((
Red Queen Series was the best thing ever!!!!! MY FAVORITE BOOK EVER!!!!! THANK YOU FOR MENTIONING IT. IT DOESN’T GET ENOUGH LOVE!!!
You might wanna start runnin ' cos the haters are a cummin! Also I know what you mean when you spoke of 'Queen of Shadows' that certain someone that appeared in the third book.... I SHIP THEM....sorry.
*runs but gets trampled by the haters *
I like chaolena more than celorian but I ship the ~book 3~ character with her more
Dude I'm sorry but when I saw you wrote "cummin" I thought of something else. I know I have a dirty mind.
+jessethereader ooooh I did warn you. Um need a little help there?
+Kaylan Shaw Yes give me a virtual high five *Smacks computer screen with hand*
I totally agree with the red queen opinion!! I just read it and I’m obsessed!!
To #7… but Kaz… I mean common you have six of Crows standing there and Kaz is one of the most interesting characters I have ever read about… and he's bad because of his tragic backstory… and okay about the girls stuff, that's still in motion (haven't read crooked kingdom yet so no spoilers),
So I think you should add that badly built up bad guys with tragic backstories are annoying but if a character is really well built up, it's just amazing
When u said "chaoleana for life" I literally fell in love with u...I LOVE TEM BOTH TOGETHER SOOOOOO MUCH! FINALLY SOMEONE WHO AGREES WITH ME! the ending of the second book ripped my heart into little pieces
Chaolena????????? Jessie. No. Rowaelin all the way
Seconded.... Especially after Tower of Dawn... Chaol got a happy ending so I don't feel so guilty for betraying Chaolena for RowAelin!!!! So wohooo !!
Finally you made this video. I've been waiting for ages. Thank u for the video!! 3 Love from Portugal
*covers self in oil*
"John Green is overrated"
*hands everyone a match*
::throws unlit match over my shoulder and joins you on the funeral pyre::
the lunar chronicals, I didn't think I was going to enjoy this series but I am in love with it! I love the premise of the stories and I think it should be put into a movie hands down! lol
thank goodness I'm not the only one that doesn't like Adam!!!!!
red queen and also that endingggg! omg choalena forever im so scared to read queen of shadows the feels and it's so big and aghhh
A popular book that I disliked was Duff. I did not enjoy it at all.
+Pinky Shrirajh Awesome video Jesse!
I love this tag, I need to film it myself sometime soon
I knew a lot of people loved Vicious by V. E. Schwab and from reading the premise I didn't think I was going to enjoy it but I ended up loving it sooo much!!
Caleana needs to be with Rowan. All the other ships will drown in misery.
BISWAJIT DAS YASSSSSS
BISWAJIT DAS Yesyesyes..but its Aelin. ROWAELINNN
BISWAJIT DAS yes!
AND THERES NO OTHER ANSWER PERIOD.
I agree!!!
Totally agree with your answer for "Book you love but everyone seems to hate" I am freaking in love with Red Queen!! And I can't wait for the sequel, and omg it's going to be a 4 book series instead of a trilogy!!! :D
I don't get the fuss over G.O.T either! I KNOW NOTHING XD
I was not expecting to like red queen as much as I did! Just finished reading it over Christmas break and I freaking loved it.
Cealena and Chaol forever 💜
Lissa Amorim I love Rowaelin but dmn Chaolaena just... just... just... just broke my heart I still ship them so hard.
Naaaahhh
Rowan and Aelin forever
YAAS
Red Queen definitely isn't as good as booktubers say ot is.
Red queen.
Loved the first book
Thought the second book dragged on
Started the third book, but didn’t finish
I’m thinking about reading the series again.
There's a 4th book now too, which I've left on standby for a while. It's still very good, and I like how some antagonists become more likeable.
You are literally the first UA-camr I’ve seen who actually likes The Red Queen!! I no longer feel alone!!!
A popular one I wasn't expecting to like but did was the Anna and the French Kiss series. I usually don't read contemporary YA because the characters tend to be whiny, but this series was really cute and sweet and really made me rethink my stance on that genre.
Love this video! You're so funny and genuine Jesse, I totally respect your opinions too xx
I have the gift of usually going into a book with no expectations but I don't think I expected to love the hunger games as much as I do! Side note I just started the mortal instruments series and am loving it so far and I have you to thank for recommending it endlessly! Hoping to get to Miss Pereguine's soon!
Yes! Ily the Red Queen series!!!!❤❤
I didn't think I'd like Harry Potter and it took a while for me to get into it but it was totally awesome and now I'm a Potterhead forever
I wasn't expecting to like TID or TMI but then I read them and completely fell in love with those books!!!
Omgggg totally agree with Chaol x Caelena!!
Also if you're trying to get into sci-fi, Dune is a GREAT sci-fi classic!! Totally recommend it.
I didn't expect The Iron Trial and Everyday to be sooo gooood!
I didn't expect to enjoy The 5th Wave when I picked it up a year and a half ago. I've never really been that into the whole alien thing, but now that series has a place on my favorites shelf!
Agree with everything. Especially on Celorian, Game of Thrones and bad guys. Love the video! Don't stop being true to yourself, it's great and original.
i love red queen too....omg its just an amazing book.
thank you!! finally someone who loves Red Queen as much as I do (despite its flaws). I read it 2 years ago and I still think about it.
YES! I WAS RELIEVED WHEN YOU LIKE THE SHANNARA TV SHOW! I LOVE IT SO MUCH AGH. i dont think im gonna read the books either.
To answer your question, mine would be Illuminae! I'm halfway through and so hooked! I don't usually read sci-fi but there is so much going on! That's part of what's taking me so long to get through it, too, because I read it before bed and I'm tired and can't process it after a while. Gotta fix that.
BOOKSHELF TOUR PLEASEEEEEE LOVE YOU
Oh my goodness! You ship Chaolaena???? I do too. You're one of the first people I've encountered who does!
I didn't like Adam either!
Omg, I totally agree with you on red queen!
Cinder i didn't think I would like. Then I read it and finished it in a day. I will for sure be continuing on with the Lunar series!!!
The selection. i didn't thing I would like it but ended up loving it
