I used to work in JLR in 2020. I changed at least one of these dpfs under warranty every week. A lot with low mileage. Mostly on Evoque's which are the same running gear. It looks like someone has replaced the dpf and forgot to nip up the sensors.
NOx sensors are expensive. Maybe some rogue has been under the car under cover of darkness and swiped the originals, only to be disturbed during the process of 'replacing' them with defective units, which prevented them from completing the task.
Unusual to have both sensors unscrewed. These things don’t just pop out. Suspect it’s been in somewhere. Is the car still under the original manufacturer’s warranty as 2019? I’ve not bought a car like on PCP, but usually main dealers will check the vehicle over before warranty expires as part of health check. Whether they scan it is a different question.
So, is it usual to have only one sensor unscrewed?? lol . What dealer does a check when the warranty expires?? Never heard of that in my life. Please post details of dealers that do this

I’ve not bought a car on PCP, but if you were paying the final balloon payment on a PCP deal, then you’d want to be sure the car has no underlying issues given your liable thereafter. I’ve bought a BMW that still had a year of manufacturer’s warranty left and you can request a check from a main dealer. It’s not automatic. Most of the cars will go back and the owner starts the process again. The owner must know the history to date, it’s hardly got any miles.
Did he went to some "tuner"? Maybe some remapping guru messed up the software for dtc display and removed dpf (then forgot to plug the sensors)...ask the customer ...
Cant imagine why the sensors are loose but anyone thinking of buying one of these should watch the recent video's by salvage rebuilds uk on the Evoque (same engine) and run far far away.
How long ago was it mot'd Dave , you would have think the customer would have heared a bit of noise from them rattling or a bit of exhaust blow , I have seen on other marques people using a collar to put the sensor away from the stream of gasses for a kidology reading .Great Jingle Bells rendition from Poppy there 👍👍👍🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅

This is done on purpose. The idea is to give outside air a channel to the sensor with the intent of "tricking" the sensor into reading cleaner air. Done lots of the ingenium engines

I'd say these things leave the factory with trivial codes tripped. Tata's finest. I can't comprehend why people buy them.
