I just made this for my son’s birthday cake and I used a 10x7 pan and it came out perfect in the oven. I cooked it for 33 minutes on 325 degrees. I used butter and it was a bit thicker than hers but it rose just fine.

Am I the only one who doesn’t keep liquid egg whites on hand? I tried finding the answer in the comments and on the recipe itself, but no luck. I googled it and found you would need 8 whole eggs to equal 1 cup of liquid egg whites. I’m going to try this tonight but there’s only 2 of us, so I will halve the recipe, using 4 whole eggs in place of the liquid egg whites. Posting this just in case there is anyone else who doesn’t keep liquid egg whites on hand! UPDATE: cake turned out beautifully awesome! So delicious and rose quite well. I had bought the silicon baking pans and love them. I did halve the recipe and it made a very generous 6” cake. Frosted it with ganache. Incredible! Lasted us 3 days on the counter - good to the last bite!!

@@gmato9. I made it in the microwave. You do have to keep an eye on it because it cooks fast! I usually go about 4-5 minutes because I like it a tad gooey in the middle. For frosting, I use heavy cream and chocolate chips (I prefer Bake Believe brand). I’m making it tonight and might get brave and use black cocoa, just for fun!
@@mokokauri950 you're supposed to cook at 2 minutes and then keep cooking for short intervals until cooked (microwave). Yes, real egg whites are superior to carton egg whites, but carton egg whites are convenient and they work. You can google "how many egg whites equal, x cup of egg whites?"
I just tried this recipe and I am so glad I did! I'm allergic to wheat and gluten so I've been without my favorite dessert for a while. This cake is so moist and flavorful that a little goes a long way. The only modification I made was to add some sugar-free, raspberry syrup to the chocolate topping and it is fabulous! Agree! We made the cake and icing last night exactly like vid and recipe, was overly sweet and made 3 times as much icing as needed. 🤦♀️ What a waste of sugar free chocolate chips and allulose. Will end up throwing it away as it is really TOO sweet. 😢 Cake is good on its own, no icing.
@@anniech5127 I found out early on in my keto journey that I need to cut sweetener amounts down quite a bit in dessert recipes on most of the Keto channels and websites, otherwise waaaay too sweet. BONUS: Saves money by using less of a pricey ingredient 🤑 Happy New Year!
This Cake is amazing, i make it for a birthday cooked in the oven and cover it with super easy philadelphia frosting and was a success!! So i re-make tonight in the microwave cause i was a bit lazy e still… is soooo good! It’s actually pretty “light” too for a keto cake cause a decent piece is about 220 cal !

I do mien in a coffee cup most of the time. I LOVE THEM. and making it in a coffee cup only allows me to have a specific amount so I don't go overboard.

Wow genius ...tried it now and it worked beautifully...utterly delicious...used the whole batter at once and it took around 6.5 minutes in my microwave but I checked every 2 minutes as you suggest...I used allulose as I can't tolerate Erythritol but need to up the sweeter next time or add more to the ganache. I made this amazing cake yesterday to serve for desert today with my corned beef cabbage. I'll serve it with some whipped cream on the side for my friends n family who want it a bit sweeter. Oh, I baked mine in a small silicone bread pan to make a loaf cake out of it. I baked it for 2 + 2 minutes in the microwave, then to be sure it was baked I set it in my 325* oven for 10 minutes. It's soooo perfect and rose well also. Thank you for this keeper! I love it!

I finally made this! I am simply shocked that this came out as good as it did! The texture and everything. I definitely recommend the coffee.. I can't wait to make the chocolate ganache 😋 But for now I just used Cool whip. It was yummy! I think I'm going to add some sliced almonds next time. Sound like this should be pretty good cake. One thing pozzles me " 1 tablespoon plus ½ teaspoon baking powder" this is ridiculously large amount of baking powder for such a small cake. It would taste all baking powder. is this an error?
