A real nice little chest . Might I suggest the Pocket hammer from Lee Valley . You have plenty of room and at 6 oz it will not kill you .Maybe a brace and you are all set.
beautiful best Ive seen, well organized I keep a first aid kit in my tool box too. I just finisned a Christioger Swartz three sliid[ng trat boc. Works well for me but yours is prettier
Woodworking, as many other career-hobbies, costs alot of money. People should not wonder why hand tools, and the products made from them, are so expensive. It's a pity that truly, good, handmade crochet items are not as valued.
Very very nice I have been looking for some ideas for buildings a nice tool box for all the most Essentials, thanks for sharing your video, and best wishes from England .
Thanks for putting that together, I'll try to do mine in metric system (solidworks drawing are finalised base on the publication in fine woodworker magazine and now it is time to build it).
The cart is bigger than the tool chest, why not make the cart part of the chest to have more room for tools. None the less, i love the idea! Thanks for sharing. :)
The work is first class. It is not the work of a pro woodworker who does this hours everyday. The tools show no wear marks. And doing this for a living you would not have all those high end extremely expensive tools. Most of my stuff has been dropped, knocked off my bench, kicked and or stepped on. It happens. His although very pretty needs to be used more to get credibility. This is not a knock, just an observation. And should add, that even the craftsman of today who have more skill than i will ever have. When you see their shops, look at their tools they do not look brand new. Especially their go to stuff.
Nice work, and like carpenters of old, you show your skill through your work, ie the tool box. The only thing that is odd to me, no dirt, no wear visible on your tools. You look at my tool box, there is saw dust and wood chips in the box, and my tools have wear marks and dirt just ground in them through use. You look like a "Gentleman Wood Worker," not some one who does this for a living. Still nice job.
This was great, I have been researching "dining room table plans woodworking" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Yiyli Yeyavid Booster - (should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 got cool results with it.
Any smart journeyman woodworker knows you never ever make a fancy chest for your tools. It makes you look like a primadonna on the shop floor and chances are your chest and it's content's will get stolen. I made mine out of plywood scraps and screwed it down to the bench. Tool theft is bad enough. Inviting it is foolish. I still have my canvas toolbag. Customs officer's will steal tools too.
i can't stand seeing someone take a marking gauge and running it along the entire length of the board. His dovetails look elegant and beautiful but completely ruined with a scribe line running along the top. If you took the time to hand cut dovetails take the time to mark only the waste.
I completely agree..! And for what regards the kart: although a nice idea it kind of ruins the whole concept of the tool chest. At least use all the waste of space of kart to add some extra equipment.....a hammer, glue, a tape measure and some clamps just to name a few 'advanced' items :-/ To each his own I guess....
STUNNING! I'd love to have one of these!
Beautiful, well equipped box! Pleasant, to the point video.

Practical, efficient, beautiful, yet not too complex.
EXCELLENT!
Do you take that on airplanes?
I notice you don't have a hammer, mallet, drill, drill bits, router plane, gouges, or molding planes.
lovely simple box.
Plans??
I shouldn't have seen this video! Now I'm having dreams.....

Beautiful box. Shame to use it it's so nice. Amazing skills.
Beautiful
I love this tool chest. Do you have a tutorial on how you did that keyhole slot part?
There actually is on the website.
@@FineWoodworking what are the rough dimensions?
A good trades man takes care of his tools. What better way to do it than with a custom toolbox!
Great idea i have a large dutch chest need something little portable
Like the chest, but I was wondering if you could post some links to buy nice hardware (hinges, pulls, etc. ). Thanks Steve
Note to myself, watch full video before commenting
Fantastic!
Awesome looking piece, Classy. I built a cart from a cheap office chair chassis. How strong is the "Butternut"???

Really nice.
BTW I had no clue Goddard's was still available in tins like this, I had some from my grandfather's saw cabinet that I used all up.
LOL! Of course Mike rolls out with the rolling stand!
Very nice but nothing to drill holes with?
long ago there was curved or rounded planes and they were for making Crown moulding ..any one have any of those..?
If you bring this class to Australia, I'd love to do it.
Nice.
Mike - So bad ass
Very nice, respekt
... and what an excellent way to impress others with your woodworking skills!
Thanks for the upload.

What are the dimensions of the toolbox?
Heard you talk about it on the podcast, glad I got to see it ! Truly a classy home for some special tools …
Very beautiful work! Your a man that takes pride in his craft, and his tools.
Pekovich? Are you from serbia or montenegro?
What are the rough dimensions?
Awesome work. I like the um....wall mounted toolbox too.
Nice I really like this one I would make one for my sockets ranches ect ect
this is very cool, I would like to make something like this for either my electronics stuff or maybe a general purpose mod and repair kit
I need something this organized for my school stuff!
No Hammer!! no mallet!! WTF
it's amazing !!!!!!
Amazing chest thanks for the inspiration
Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
Well done...beautiful tools and joinery.
Nice Box👍
Ik ben in een keer aan het zwembad
Espero um dia ser tão detalhista.
Really beautiful! Well done
Nice box and nice shop 🙂
very beautiful
Wow, some people criticise his work. I think the chest is magnificent.
People who don't attempt woodworking and stand on the side lines always have something negative to say about anything

Have you seen any of Mike Pekovichs other woodworking projects he does this for a living and not like you takes care of his tools @hdvictoryford5329
It's getting twere you can't even compliment a man on his chest anymore.
nice case
Dimensions?
Beautiful work!
bellissima, un vero gioiello!
buetifull
I'd love to attend a course to build this 👌
Mike does teach this as a class. Usually at CT Valley School of Woodworking.
nice
beautiful
Awesome !
I know you know who i am.
I applaud this magazine for superb inspiration.
I learned much from you .
now put a chair on that cart and drive it around town
If you threw all of your hand tools into a car shredder I bet you could get them all into the chest.

Well-built but not my cup of tea and japanese saws, forget it!
bet you cant carry that
Bandaids. Where do the bandaids go?

Agreed. Leaving a line where it will be seen is tacky.
Actually that is the traditional way and it shows that are handmade! more tools?? this is for cabinet maker not joiners!!
Where are you seeing a scribe line? Please give the time code. I have watch the video 3 times looking for it lol
Never mind lol I finally saw the line lol
