    Bill Maher and Terry Crews on religion, extremism, Terry’s Hollywood journey, Terry being on the receiving of that famous Me Too moment, the aftermath, and the support from his wife, Terry’s strict Pentecostal upbringing that prohibited dancing, watching movies, or listening to secular music, Terry’s battle with a certain type of addiction and the rehab process, the evolution of representation in Hollywood, Bill’s love of the film Idiocracy and how he has programmed his car as an homage to that movie, Magic Johnson’s yacht, and which of them could win at arm wrestling (hint: not Bill).

      I so agree with you.When the podcast first started a couple of years ago, I listened every week.There were some that were worthwhile, which often depended on the guest,and Bill's level of coherence after several tokes and drinks,as well as his level of interrupting the guest.But I got frustrated with the inconsistency of the 'casts,so this was the first one I've heard in a while.

      it's not going to be the same for everyone, but it is the case for most people.. that marriage and a family will bring you love and fulfillment that you simply cannot find elsewhere. but some folks just aren't meant for that life, and that's totally okay too. as long as you're honest with yourself, and you're living a good, fulfilling life, then that's all that really matters eh? 😊

    One of my favorite conversations. Appreciated Terry Crews honesty. I remember when the groping story broke, and I always wanted to hear his side, not just some soundbite. I thought the same thing when I heard the poor guy couldn't react, it would be like throwing gasoline on a fire. The media would have destroyed Terry. But the quiet strength and restraint it must have taken to not defend is admirable. Club Connect is the best I look forward to a new episode every week. ps it goes both ways Bill. You're with the wrong guy if anytime you talk about something in your past you get judged or chastised, it doesnt get any better from there

      I had been wanting to hear Terry's full side of the story as well, and after hearing it, i'm so impressed by his discipline during the awful experience. he's a good man. and so many young men could learn so much from him, honestly. he seems kind and genuine.. and he's both likeable and relatable.. just a true gem, something we rarely see out of Hollywood. plus he's talented -- just sooo funny. I'm always cracking up, if Terry Crews is on my screen. ha.
      what are you talking about at the end there regarding Bill?

    I don’t always listen to Club Random as religiously as I follow Real Time. I clicked on Terry Crews because I love him as Camacho…wow I could not have expected what may just be the BEST interview on this podcast! Terry is absolutely amazing as a person. Down to earth, real, humble, intelligent, wise, funny-and Bill and Terry play off of each other so well. If Bill ever returned to doing movies, these two would be comedy gold together. This conversation was just a joy to listen to. I rarely follow up on plugs, but now I’m actually hyped to see his movie.

    Hey Bill! Please invite Jean Smart, she has a HBO max series called "Hacks", and I think you would have plenty of things to talk about on comedy, Vegas, doing a tour, being a stand up comedian as a man vs. as a woman, etcetera!

    • @jillybeangaming
      @jillybeangaming 29 днів тому

      he was hardly clapping for marriage.. it was a "good for you" clap at best. lol. I mean, he clapped and then proceeded to make all the usual sort of backhanded comments about how Terry is probably whipped and how Terry has to lie, and how women are so awful because you can't call another woman beautiful in front of them.. and whatever other shenanigans he pulled out. maybe he thinks he's being funny, but it comes off bitter and jaded to me, rather than funny.

    • @TheProphegy
      @TheProphegy 29 днів тому

      @@jillybeangaming I agree. Porn addiction is real and can be very bad and Terry spoke on how it ruined his life and Bill in turn says that’s silly and then trashes a wife for not wanting her man to be looking/talking to or about other women. lol. Bill is all about Bill. It’s his way or no way. lol.

    I went out with a guy who grew up in a Pentecostal household. He was 30yr old and had never seen or been to the movies. No TV. No alcohol women can’t cut their hair and must wear skirts no jeans. It was so weird that I could not date him. He was so handsome, and he had such a fabulous job, but the fact that he Rebelled at least gone to the movies was bizarre to me. And the fact that he was on Tinder and told me that just threw up some red flags, I think a lot of sex/ porn addicts are born out of super strict, religious households.
