Great idea with the spring loaded punch!!
It works great as long as the other side of the carburetor is on a solid surface that doesn't give. The punch give you very precise control.

I took apart my cs590 carb to clean it because of a no start and noticed that the L/H jets are different lengths. Would anyone know which one is which? At first glance upon teardown, I thought they looked identical, but I should've payed closer attention.
The shorter one has a sharper taper, while the longer one is more blunt.
Edit: Found out the long blunt jet screw is L, and short/sharp is H.
I also had to replace the bypass valve with Walbro 86-578-1 to get it to idle for more than a few seconds. Works great now. The spring loaded punch made it easy. That line is very hard to see at first.
Does the CS620P need this new jet or is it already installed by ECHO? Thanks
Just picked up a brand new cs590 for 300 yesterday from my local pawn shop. I feel like I got a pretty good deal. Anyways I want to just run the billet muff deflector and maybe the air filter o rings. How much should I benefit from it?

Question.?. while cleaning my cs590 carb, i poked a guitar string though the stock fuel nozzle hole to make sure it was clean and a little disc of gasket material came out of the nozzle into the carb throat.
is that supposed to be there ? it looks like maybe it should be... i might try to reinstall it.. or maybe i will just skip ahead to this mod and upgrade while i have it apart..

Does the 620 have the same nozzle? Is there a problem leaning out the 620?
So if I’m understanding right. When you do a muffler mod or port a two stroke you’re allowing it to pull more air and fuel through so you would actually need to lean out the jets vs richen them which seems crazy?

I just ordered the jet and have done a muffler mod on the saw. No flywheel advance yet. Do you think those carb settings of 2 out on the high and 1 1/4 on the low are good starting points without timing mod? Love the videos and all the mods available to this saw.
Not a bad place to start on those adjustments.
I only used 1 O-ring on mine after having a muffler mod done, and removing limiters and getting it tuned,. I thought that would be better than nothing on the filter. Where you get them kits at

Is there a specific orientation that the new nozzle needs to be installed or do you just have to be concerned about the depth of the press with the punch?
Depth only since the replacement nozzle has a groove all the way around
You mention after replacing the nozzle you have to turn the H screw 2 turns, is that in or out?
Turn in until it GENTLY seats then back out 2 turns
Can you tune the Timberwolf with a small flat screwdriver or does it take a special tool?
Screwdriver, it does have limiters from the factory though.
@@mattr66 yea I sent mine to Iowa Performance Saw's for a muffler mod and retune and he removed the limiters but it hasn't been tuned since so I didn't know, good to know it doesn't take a special tool to tune cause I think mine needs leaned out just a little

I have a fairly new and extremely hard starter 590. Gas, spark, no pop. What carb or mod will make this an easy starter for an old man. This thing will wear me out trying to start.

I'm 63, and a certified small engine tech with 50 yr.s experience. I have 2 of the cs 590, after my 1966 Homelite C52 was stolen. The main jet in the carb has a 1 mm rubber disc that is the only thing wrong with it. I just block the hole and retune the carb.I run mine a little rich and it won't rev but under load it sings and won't stall.
@@richarddodds9326 while cleaning my cs590 carb, i poked a guitar string through the main jet and knocked the 1mm rubber disc out and now my saw doesn't quite perfect.. do you think i can just reinstall the rubber disc by poking back into the jet ?
