I find in a rush it's an exact opposite for me. If any list hairs sticks, it's exactly there. Turns out washing with soap or any strong surfactant can leave the regions on the lower body more contaminated than the rest, at least places not rubbed last or rinsed well. The lower, the more action is necessary, as parts where surfactant is flowing over and not tuoched with pressure afterwards are the worst in contamination. That's why if i have the time, i take it slow for tricky areas and use a strong flow of cold water in the end for as long as it's healthy for given circumstances. Other thing, in cold weather periods with low physical activity its healthy periodically wash less than daily, or at least not in full (ex.g. it's harmfu to wash your hair with shampoo daily) and without any soap. It restores skin's healthy microbiome, if it's not infected or sick in some way. Only your intimate parts and mouth is certainly to be washed correctly daily However all this depends on a person's condition, genetics, partner and experiences.

Only bad thing with your advice is a poem I have heard for years, “You can wiggle, giggle, shake, and dance, the last 2 drops go down your pants “, I have pretty much found this to be true
One trick I discovered in my youth is to reach up underneath the prostate and give it a little push after urinating. This prevents "leakage" after you're done! One single drop can cause SO much irritation!!

I have learned more about my genitals than I thought I ever needed to know, but I do need to know. Dr. Reena, my apology is because I have been embarrassed to like and subscribe. Great information. I love knowing why.
Most men in the western world over the age of about 12 already know enough to wash their genitals as long and as hard as may be necessary, daily if not more often. But for those who don’t, we’re quite fortunate to have Dr Malik and her colleagues among us. Thanks, Doc.
@@accidentcellar6307 It depends on your lifestyle. If you work out daily of course you're going to need showers daily. If you don't work out and do sitting offiice work from a home office like me, there's no way I get sweaty/dirty enough to require a daily shower.
Cleanliness is important and there’s almost no one that wants to be unclean, or smelly. Yet, everything in moderation is a logical and reasonable position to take on almost every issue. Cleanliness is definitely something that this applies to. Besides, it is a standard fact that most things that people do, should fall somewhere in a normal range, that if exceeded will often be detrimental. It applies to machines, chemicals and people. As an example, the proper amount of oil and grease are essential for machinery longevity. Too little or two much will usually end in major problems, if not catastrophic failures. The same is true of the human body and the crazy irrational emphasis on sanitizing it. That’s especially true of the sanitizing of internal organs and especially the sensitive mucosal membranes involving the male and female genitalia. Too much cleaning is bad. Adding chemicals and soaps to those organs can be catastrophic. It will, over time, desensitize delicate tissues, especially the fine touch nerve ends found in the typical prepuce and glans of the penis and clitoris. Soap also tends to destroy the important specialized microbiome that exists in and on healthy genitalia. And if that isn’t enough, soaps on that delicate tissue of the glans tends to cause keratin to build up. You don’t want the glans covered with a layer of callused skin (keratin) on that thing. Then there’s those that have allergic reactions to soap that can result in contact dermatitis, infections and putrid odors. Dr. Malik is great at informing people about things that are important, but that have been considered off limits when discussing sex and the sex organs. With her talk about cleaning the genitalia, I’m afraid she’s bought the misinformation put out by the cosmetics industry - hook, line and sinker. Humans have enjoyed sex and reproduced for eon’s without a warehouse full of chemicals in every bathroom. It a new phenomenon and we’re just learning about it’s harmful effects to otherwise healthy people.
Okay... am I the only person who laughed when they cut to the Parmeggiano Reggiano sprinkling on the salad when the word "smegma" was mentioned? 😂🤣 Dr. Malik, you are the best! Thanks for your wonderful and informative videos!
@Jayson Argonaut I mean I've never heard a so-called Credible Source claim female sources for SMEGMA. I mean the word MA is in the word itself. Thanks, for the credible tip or advice as others like to say.
I'm gonna share some wisdom from a negative experience as a teenager (this is something both for you and especially your male kids) - I had Phimosis which is also known as a tight foreskin. Now this is quite common and a subject of debate as to why it happens in the first place (genetics, environment, behaviour). So I would say if your a parent of a son as they move through their teenage years, ask them questions about it and encourage proper cleaning of the foreskin and glans and ask them also (I know it's a difficult and sensitive issue) if the foreskin properly retracts. Also, this bit is a little controversial: No one knows (including doctors) specifically how or why Phimosis occurs, but there are theories and certainly behaviours that don't help. In children before adolescence - it's normal for the foreskin to not fully retract, but as the male enters adolescence, gradually it is supposed to - but it doesn't in everyone. From what I've researched, if a child/teenager is not taught how to clean and retract properly from as early as possible it can lead to the problem. Also from what I've read certain early and unhealthy or unusual masturbation behaviours, such as "thrusting" against the bed can lead to it (if you think about it, as a male your still developing and that behaviour can lead to "damage"). Or it can simply just happen anyway for reasons not completely understood (genetics, environment etc). The point is the "thrusting" clearly won't help the problem. Anyway my unfortunate experience - talking about sexual health and stuff at that time was slightly taboo with my own father (although I don't lay any blame on him) so I was just left to my own devices with it. But I do also blame the schools and education system (even here in the UK) for not bringing attention to Phimosis and cleaning. (I also did "thrust" against the bed in early adolescence, unfortunately). Anyway, the solutions are creams and stretching techniques and if that doesn't work, partial or full circumcision (unfortunately). I needed the full. Now from my perspective - if possible try to avoid the circumcision (because most people handle it fine, but some unfortunately me find it "traumatic"). It definitely was a very difficult thing to go through as an 18 year old and I still have some issues with relationships now and a kind of "indifference" at least at the moment. Bottom line: educate your boys in the cleaning of the foreskin! Prevent the need for the trauma of circumcision and from Phimosis even happening in the first place (if possible). Circumcision itself is also controversial: I will say this much - when the foreskin is removed enjoyable sex is still possible but some scientific theories suggest that as the foreskin contains many nerve endings and the normally very sensitive glans is covered and kept lubricated - some studies suggest sex is more pleasurable with an uncircumcised penis in comparison to a circumsized one as there is more sensitivity uncut. On a more serious finishing note: if a case of Phimosis goes untreated, like she said, there is a risk of penile cancer. Plus sex will be difficult, painful or not possible. There will be general discomfort around the foreskin and glans and disturbingly the foul smell of a large build up of "smegma" trapped in the foreskin - it smells like 'cheesy urine death". And that's why repeated infection is dangerous. BE WARNED! I'll leave the knowledge with you to decide! But I would urge and suggest avoiding all the possible pain, trauma and ordeal of needing a circumcision.
Bravo ! Je reste éberlué que mon père ne m'ait jamais instruit de ces rudiments et m'ait laissé décalotter à sept ans par un médecin qui m'a fait mal, mais m'a permis depuis une hygiène irréprochable.

I just use a hemp oil and coconut oil combination body wash. Works pretty well, doesn't irritate. Also, one of the side benefits that I had not expected from the carnivore diet is that my body generates far less smell. And I've never worried about smegma since I was circumcised as a baby.
Back in the 70's a woman in Massachusetts (I think....) got in trouble for getting a vanity license plate that read SMEGMA. Eventually someone who knew what it meant turned her in and she lost her license plate. 😂😂😂
SMEGMA is definitely in the conversation for being the most disgusting word in the English language. That being the case, I can hardly believe there has never to my knowledge been a rock band to adopt it as their name. Perfect for a punk rock band!

Yep, many guys don't do it and to me it's totally illogical since they are making the toilet opening smaller and thus harder to aim without splashing pee on the rim.

Circumcision in America, post WWII or so, was boosted to very high popularity by doctors partly because of concerns that uncircumcised boys and men wouldn't or didn't clean under their foreskin well. I.e., Circumcision became considered healthier. In most recent years that's changed some.
Women with broad sexual experience have revealed in social media that cut American men can have dirty penises, and that many uncut American men are impeccably clean.
@@richardenglish2195 Intactivism began in the 1980s. A major part of this early intactivism involved convincing state Blue Cross - Blue Shield plans to drop coverage of RIC. A major early success was California's BC-BS dropping coverage in 1983. I vaguely recallthe belief at that time that if BC-BS dropped coverage for a procedure, many/most private insurers would follow suit. This century, the intactivist conversation seldom mentionms BC/BS coverage in any way. The conversation now focuses on Medicaid coverage of RIC. The AAP's 2012 defence of RIC included a sentence stating that health insurance and Medicaid should cover the cost of RIC, even though the AAP declined to "recommend" the procedure. This 2012 "defence" of RIC "expired" at the end of 2017.
There was also a fear that teaching boys to retract their foreskins before cleaning their penises, would lead them to discover masturbation, then considered psychologically unhealthy and a serious sexual sin. It was also believed that to expect a mother to talk to her sons about foreskin hygiene was to expect too much of the straight laced mothers of that day.
When I was eight years old, I thought it would stay cleaner longer if I didn't rinse the Ivory bath soap off of it. That didn't turn out very well after the skin started peeling.
Absolutely 💯 Always good information. May I recommend corn starch in your fruit of the looms for those who sit a lot in heavy equipment to alleviate discomfort from sweating and chafing

Step 1) Lather up genitals generously
Step 2) Rub the soap in an up and down motion for 15-20 minutes
Step 3) Rinse thoroughly
Step 4) Enjoy a smoke.
Only bad thing with your advice is a poem I have heard for years, “You can wiggle, giggle, shake, and dance, the last 2 drops go down your pants “, I have pretty much found this to be true

I'm still not sure. I wonder if Dr malik would come and show me how to do it properly😊
Ask your father he will help you 😂🍑👋
Hey guys, Don't be surprised that Dr. Malek needs to talk about this! A lot of people still don't know it.
One trick I discovered in my youth is to reach up underneath the prostate and give it a little push after urinating. This prevents "leakage" after you're done! One single drop can cause SO much irritation!!
We call that the gooch press
Do you wash the finger afterwards or just leave it to dry. Hope you clean the fingernails at least once a week
No Problem Doctor my wife is taking care of me every single day
Thanks doc. I'll think of you every time I wash. 🙂
There's a lot of stuff, and especially in the past, that we all weren't taught about, and I really couldn't say, just how much we all suffered for it.
I have been infected and suffering right now , because I didn't clean it properly, it's real important to clean
2:32 General pro tip for many guys that simply walk off after using a urinal and start touching elevator buttons, handrails, gym equipment, etc. And there are many.
I don't know if you read these comments, but I want to apologize. I really do like your videos and tell (at least me) things that no one ever told me about, if they even knew them. Some videos that you have made, like this one, are maybe a "no kidding", common knowledge, but you give the WHY of the subject.
I don't wash it or even take showers daily. Here in northern climates people just don't sweat that much, especially if they're slouches like me :)
@@accidentcellar6307 It depends on your lifestyle. If you work out daily of course you're going to need showers daily. If you don't work out and do sitting offiice work from a home office like me, there's no way I get sweaty/dirty enough to require a daily shower.

@dingdong2103 A Grown Man Sweating or Not Needs a Shower Everyday.
This is Good advice , should be taught as basic level of keeping clean and healthy...
The cheese brought that point home 🤣😂. Love the content 👌
Okay... am I the only person who laughed when they cut to the Parmeggiano Reggiano sprinkling on the salad when the word "smegma" was mentioned?

Also, this bit is a little controversial:
No one knows (including doctors) specifically how or why Phimosis occurs, but there are theories and certainly behaviours that don't help.

So did you have to use a salad drizzled with cheese stock video when mentioning smegma?
Drizzling Parmigiano will be quite the chore now.
I just use a hemp oil and coconut oil combination body wash. Works pretty well, doesn't irritate. Also, one of the side benefits that I had not expected from the carnivore diet is that my body generates far less smell.
And I've never worried about smegma since I was circumcised as a baby.

Also because it was covered in health insurance packages. Part of the drop in recent years is due to providers no longer offering this.
