Pure, unfiltered, hoops wisdom. I doubt this will get the views that runs or high profile 1v1's get but I appreciate this so much more. Thank you X and JLaw for the tea time talk. You could possibly make this into Shorts content and get some exposure that way in order to justify keeping these types of videos. Would love to see more.
i know it won’t be as popular on your channel but this is real hoop knowledge and insight from the players who put in all the time and reps into their game would love for this to become a series
Just let the game come to u. I used to be so nervous playin 5s but once u play more ur confidence will rise. Get better playin off the ball setting screens grabbing rebounds the small stuff helps builds character. Like when your under the basket lay it back up or those easy bucket mid range they come clutch!
You have to train more for full court and it will become nature going end to end layups shooting and even game speed training but a big key is cardio if your cardio is their it gives you a leg up on the competition
FIREEE VIDD!!! This vid may not get a lot of views but this is hands down one of the greatest basketball vids I've seen, just the breakdown of how to make reads and implement 5v5 into ur training, the knowledge of of an amazing basketball player xrm, great video jlaw!!
Can you do a video on situations that you need to be conscious of in order to prevent injuries? Eg at 3:08 on that chase down block attempt you look down to see if you have enough landing space, because those situations are hella dangerous. Would be cool if you can put out like a list of those situations that have a really high risk of severe injury and how you should behave in those situations, because if you really pay attention you see nba players know about those type of things, but your average hooper has no idea. There really isn't anything like that on UA-cam yet afaict.
Been on both sides of this( the defender and the person getting hit) and it’s really on the defender. Going up you should always make sure you’ll have a clear landing space before taking off, but most importantly be aware of where your momentum is heading
One thing I’m starting to figure out is that some people are Tough 1v1, solid on 3v3 and horrible within 5v5 situations . Team Based games preferably (5v5 ) remains tough for me not due to confidence but mainly having to manage expectations and emotions of others on the team. No matter what we love this game.
A REALLY GOOD DEFENDER IS ALWAYS GONE TAKE AWAY WHAT EVER YOUR MOST COMFORTABLE DOING AND FORCE YOU INTO WHAT YOU DONT WANT TO DO. FAR AS OFFENSE THE KEY IS TO TRY TO USE YOUR ADVANTAGE WHAT EVER IT IS.
3 small details 1. Create contact 2. Use off arm 3. Use off foot Without the small 3 small details you'll never beat your defender. To get past your defender you have to create contact it's the only way. Especially in 1v1. For shooting you either need a stepback or pull up jumper. A stepback from my experience is better because I get blocked on my pull up jumper.
Gotta work on the 1 & 2 dribble pull-up because it’s very difficult for a defender to close out on the shot with their momentum going backwards. You need a pound dribble straight into your shot pocket to get the shot off effectively 😉
Dropping this here cause I love comment sections where you can actually talk ball lol…. But Literally left the court recently bc we supposed to be “working out” but they just wanted to learn highlights and bs. I always tell my friends the only reason I can guard you is you only know how to do moves/get shots one way. How I wo is if you’re working on a move or how to get to a shot is, Don’t work on things that don’t fit your game for one, but 2. Actually taken time to identify all the reads you can see and from there it’s live reactions with defense
Not having the live reps is what is messing me up. I’ve been doing everything I can to practice and get better but being on the court only once every few months has been really halting my development
Keep working on your game as much as possible, everyone doesn't have trainers and open gyms they can go to at anytime, just have the mindset of "mixing lemons into lemonade" that's exactly what I do..
XRM was in the same class as Zach LaVine. He should be in the NBA. This guy has court vision, can score, and be a good role player. And you know this guy is "psycho." Meaning, he will take it seriously. He wants to win.
Should we drop more breakdowns with our pros? Let me know below! YAYAAA!!
Yes!
HELL YEA DUDE!!!! It tells me why the actual movements are being made in detail. Plus it help on D to know what the offense is looking for. IQ!
Ya yaah!
Helll yeeaahhhh
More videos with XRM please, we learned so much from this Baller either watching him play, or talk. 🙌🏼

This video should have a million views and likes easily, the free game from both of you is crazy! Great stuff JLaw!

5s can be difficult for me I tend to loose sense of my game but I'm realizing I just gotta play more 5s and my confidence will go up
no bs like i lose my confidence in 5s but half court feel comfortable asf just gotta get them reps in and it’ll transfer💯

This was better than any tutorial, the way he explain the use of space and anatomy was very useful
I like how you said that seriously/ jokingly and then got back serious real quick 😂😂😂 “because you guys see me getting past X all the time 🖤” 😂
the fact that a guy like XRM isnt in the NBA just goes to show how crazy good NBA players are

the fact that jlaw has taught me more in terms of the breakdown of the game than any coach ever has is crazy .. 😭🔥

I think one of the most common is when you try to block a lay up and the guy just faked and you lose balance by falling over him

x got that trae young hair 5:06
X's wisdom is amazing! Looking forward to the next one.
commentary behind the clips is great
Watching Xman play makes me want to get better for myself and as a hooper
Do it bro
@@ivannichols1926 gotchu
Skill work, and live play work seeing bodies is super important
Really hoping for a coach like this!!
This is JLaws most underrated training video. Implemented this mentality and the game is slowing down like crazy.

I’m definitely a 5s player💀
Such an great comment, keep your journey going
X is nice! I definitely respect his advice
This is a really dope video. I'm sharing it with my athletes.

Great vid jlaw ‼️
We need more of these kids moments
That’s when you pick your poison as a defender. You gotta live and die by something, and be okay with it, that’s how you win.
Can you do a video on how to move smoother with the ball instead of being stiff and rigid.
I Deff say drop more breakdowns but as long as the videos are like this. Maybe it's just me but I understand a lot better with visuals
Keep making these!
x seems like a natural teacher
Contraints led approach 👍🏽.
Yes for sure
such an invaluable video
On the 5v5, you should definitely bring back how you put the players name on screen when they made their first bucket.

Good video JLaw
Can we see live action play through of attacking a defender in certain situations?
I wish I grew up in the youtube tutorial era and not the youtube home video era. I can only imagine what I could have done oh well, back to 24 lol
Love that!
Xrm belongs in the hall of fame
I broke my habitat of looking at my defenders feet, guess I’m doing that again. I just feel like I need my head up a lot but guess I dojt
🔥🔥🔥
XRM is a beast
