Kou being a Christian isn’t being religious. Religion is traditional practices of men not God. I’m not in any religion nor do I believe he is. I’m just saying that once your truly saved and in Christ, Christ’s love constrains us and guides us to be like Christ. That’s not religion.

kidice73 as a young male character myself I understand how you feel but speaking out of context, I believe that the term, ‘show my son how to be a man’ can be very offensive and sexist. I hope that you treat all genders equally and don’t teach your children about old fashioned terms.

Soooo many people don't know what the definition of a carry is by the actual rulebook. I get asked all the time if certain moves and combos I teach at my camps and sessions are a carry and they're completely legal. Think I'm going to make a video on that topic and really break it down... Anyways, appreciate your insight in this video and honesty on all topics. I think you're pretty accurate on all points. Great stuff! 💯

  • @BBALLDaily

Just got sent this today! Thanks for pointing out a few of the things I got wrong in the video. I tried to do as much research as possible but obviously a lot of the time there is incorrect information online! And before I say anything else, None of what I said was meant to be taken as a negative. I've played in the top league in Ireland where our pros make roughly $30,000 (max) a year. And we've had guys like Shawn Vanzant (Butler's starting PG in the 2011 NCAA championship game) play in the league. It's the only league I've had first hand experience with and regardless of skill level, for me it's difficult to put you ahead of a guy like him. But again, that's just my opinion
This was an interesting topic to cover at the time and it still is a really interesting to look back on! As you said, you never really pursued an NBA career after 2008 so everything said by anyone is completely hypothetical. But the fact that the conversation is even taking place shows the skill level that you have! Also you're completely right about the past tense thing and looking back on it I changed the tense I used multiple times throughout the video so it's something I should probably be more careful of in the future!

If NBA players played like you, I would watch it all the time. Your ball handling moves remind me of martial art moves. They’re amazing. I grew up playing hours and hours of bball. I didn’t even paid attention to NBA and I lived in California during the era of Magic and Kareem and Bird. But I felt that real bballl was on the streets and not in big stadiums and on TV. As a kid playing hours of bball, I felt I owned the sport just as any other NBA. I lived basketball and not just watched it or commented on it. I have more respect for street ballers because I see more passion on what they do. They just don’t play to win. They play to demonstrate passion which sometimes translate to winnng the game and sometimes losing it. Hey, that’s basketball. The most important thing about basketball is it took a lot of kids off the streets and gangs and drugs. It kept them fit physically and psychologically. So I’m not sure why anyone would make NBA the “benchmark” of a great bball player.
Great job Professor! I will be watching more of you and your league.

He's good enough for some leagues but I dont think he'd get a spot in Europe (like he said in the video, very political and fundamental based) and CBA is getting increasingly more difficult with 2 foreigner rule per team. Those 2 foreigner slots usually go to ex-nba guys and big black guys that were good D1 players. He'd probably end up in a small Asian league like Japan or Philippines and I dont think its worth it. The Professor is awsome and I trully respect him as a professional athlete! It is true that he uses unconventional ball handling techniques, which may or may not be legal, but still he is a true basketball artist, and no one should ever question his professional skills. I can easily say that his ball handling, weight distribution and his footwork are amongst the best in the world, and there is more to his moves that meets the eye. He studies his "opponents reactions" to the max, and adjusts his movements to them. It is maybe not be so hard to do these moves alone on an empty court, but he uses them in actual games, and after he does them he faces the basket. He is trully magnificent and I truly respect him for his hard work, creativity, imagination and vision. He does not strive to be something else or try to fit into a strict regime, since he knows his strenghts and is content whit where he stands. Wish you all the best and keep on with your magic!! Best regards

One: there was a street baller that was in the NBA named Jason Williams. And he was a great player.
Two: just because hes short doesn't mean he cant play in the NBA. Muggsy Bogues was the shortest player in the NBA and he's a legend.
And Third: one of the worst basketball players scored 1 point per game. If I remember correctly. If that person made it into the NBA than the professor can definitely play in the NBA.

      1. Jason Williams was not a "street baller." He played for U of Florida. Got drafted in the first round. Came up the traditional way. He did have some flashy, street ball esque moves I suppose. Wouldn't call him great. Matter of of opinion. He had some good years, won a ring with the Heat. A fun player. You might be thinking of Rarer Alston, "Soil to My Lou." A street ball legend who had a decent NBA career.
      2. I guess. Sure. Short guys can play too. The leagues only getting taller though with 7 footers who can handle and shoot the three. But Mugsy Bogues was def NOT a legend. Why? Cuz he's in Space Jam? GTFOH.
      3. You display a fundamental misunderstanding of basketball. Dennis Rodman could have average 0.0 points a game and still have been a Hall of Famer. Because of his defense and rebounding. Its not all about scoring. And even when it comes to scoring, its not just about how many points you score but what you take away from your team to do it. If your a 6-10 PF who averages 12 points a game, but you never require the ball, no plays have to be drawn up for you. All you points are on like fast breaks, offensive rebound put backs, and back door cuts and you shoot 70% from the field, those are some very effective 12 points. Professor is the type of player that has to dominate on the ball, have plays called for him, has to shoot threes and would no doubt have a very poor shooting %. Could he score 10 points a game in the NBA. most likely. What would it costs his team? More than those 10 points would be worth. Add in the fact that his defense would be EXTREMELY suspect. No. Hes not an NBA player. Once again, he could probably average more pointe that Rodman but Rodman's in the Hall of Fame. The Professor wasn't good enough to make the NBA. Of course the best argument is, if he was good enough, he would have made it.

Okay, actually when Professor was first hitting his stride with And1, the NBA was at its peak with the streetball-esque/isolation basketball. Yes, Rafer Alston got a deal not because he was just a streetballer, but because he was actually good enough to make a D1 team in the first place. There's no doubt in my mind that Professor is more skilled than a lot of guys in the league, but size DOES matter. The smaller you are, the more elite you have to be to make it in the league. Regardless if there's "politics" involved or not, that's irrelevant. To say that Professor was never good enough to make the league isn't a diss, it's just fact. In any given year, the NBA only houses the 450 greatest players in the world. That's elite company. To be slightly outside of that doesn't mean he's not a great player.

In NBA it’s Defense is really why size will affect you so much.
Professor got it all but when you’re going up against teams that the shortest dude is 6’4 and can bounce through the ceiling, that’s where & when the size affects you most.
Dudes can just pull up on you from anywhere when you’re under 6’ft. and then when they want to do the right fundamental play they just run you down to the block in the low post and the SF or SG drops the ball into the PG who posts you up with maybe a dribble or 2 before the turn & fade or quick spin to a layup or an up & under to draw an and 1.
Whomever the short guy is guarding just runs the lil guy down in the post without ever touching the ball before he gets down there so that the lil PG like Mugsy Bogues can’t utilize his strength from being short which is his quickness and so to get a steal while the player is dribbling his way down low, NOPE,
he just runs to the spot, the lil block dow low, then gets the ball dropped into him, then he goes to work with his back to the basket & turns around to hit a lil fade.
Easy peasy and that’s why it’s so hard to even get looked @ as a lil dude with game.
There’s lil dudes that are better than some pros but their height is something you can’t teach and on Defense is where a lil guy can’t really make up the difference.
That’s why lil dude making it is even more impressive.
They have to go through so much just to even have a Coach pay enough attention to give them that chance.
Those lil dudes like Earl Boykins, Spud Webb and The Lil Man Legend Mugsy Bogues are the illest.
They have the most skills to be able to make up the height difference.

Props to the Prof., making his way in the world using the tools he was given and honing them to a razors edge. I would bet that he has invested more time in training than most players that make the NBA, and certainly more than those that came close but didn't quite get there. To be fair, there are millions of basketball players in the world, and only a minute percentage even get a shot at being looked at for a pro opportunity, even smaller percentage of those have any real career from it. keep being you Professor

Ok, could you of made NBA. Yes. Been a legend? Hard to say. I played LBJ in high school and scored 24 junior year and 21 senior and lost by 4 and 7. Does that mean I could play NBA? LOL no. It's all about drive and what is your motivation. Money isn't everything. There are more enriching aspects in life that even money cannot buy. Professor did it his way. If he made it to the NBA do you think he would be spending 13 seconds dribbling off someone's head lol. Hell no. He would adapt. Just respect the fact he has put more work into improving his life, kids lives and our sport which is more than I can say about most people who post childish comments. Ball on Professor. Been a fan ever since you showed up with your sponge Bob arms 15 years ago lol ;)

What this guy is doing, and how professional he is handling business amazes me. I've only played pick up ball my whole life, but man I love this game! I'm 39 and I play 4 days a week currently. The professor is legit, someone to look up to, and he deserves respect on all levels not only for his basketball skills but the way he handles his business. Much love professor!!!

I stumbled upon the Professor a month ago on you tube when it popped up as some nerd faking guys out in Venice Beach and WOW.... this guy can play! I watched many videos of the prof since and not only is he great but a cool human, too. Yeah, no doubt he could have filled a roster in the NBA but he's doing his own thing and living life the way he wants. He has my total respect. Keep it up, Professor, you are living the dream without selling yourself short. Peace.

Some NBA team should have him as a guest player for a season to show his skill. I have no doubt this guy would be like Muggsy Bogues Height: 5'3” NBA active 1987-2001 or even better.

Professor should be a paid ambassador for the NBA. Do exactly what he's doing now, but get paid for what is essentially marketing for the NBA.

Would love to see the professor play in the NBA for at least one year. Id support that team. Can we sign a petition??? All we really need is a pray if the creator of the universe wants him to. I support whatever God wants him to do in his life because it will bring Him glory. Keep doing what your doing Professor! Praise God!

It made me smile about the long hip-hop pants... it’s true, in that time! 🤣 But it’s true, at least in Europe the referees would see some movements as illegal. Anyway it’s a good work what professor do. I saw the Philippines video and it was fantastic. There is a lot of great players outside the NBA, you only have to see my countrymen, the Spanish team (but it’s true, when they come to the top they are catched by NBA teams as Pau Gasol) but all of them grow in Spain. 😉
