@Hoop Club Ye same I’m in Canada and I’m in highschool grade 9 so it’s hard for us to play just practising in backyard sometimes but we gotta hang in there
I like that you've broken the progression down this way. Movement, skill, decision-making. I believe Ganon Baker described the stages of skill development as form, speed, and contact, and that's a helpful way of thinking about developing a single skill. But your way helps us focus on applying a skill in the chaos of a game. Very nice.
Movement. Proper kinetic chain flow. Being able to stop on a dime. Cut. And just run properly and smooth. Smooth kills defense more then fast and jittery
I need to work on decision making. I have the confidence, the movement and the skills. I can also do these in game, but I do make bad choices with the shots I take... And when it comes to reading help defenders and all.
Confidence for Sure. A lot non stop and when I’m at ease or playing with people who give me a chance then I show out and everything I practice shows up, but when I play with jerks that force to just be a corner shooter and yell at me for every mistake (even when it wasn’t my fault) it’s start to mess my game big time. I can’t stand when I touch ball and first thing everyone dies I scream for the ball , or if I miss 1 shot people are mad at me despite them missing a lot already. It really gets in my head and it becomes and avalanche. By the end of a session it’s like I almost forgot how to play basketball, and I’m feeling pathetic. I didn’t like when I limited when I play or I have people micromanaging the whole game
I believe it was a channel called Breakthrough Basketball that I saw this on: go to ya most efficient move each time and counter if necessary. That eliminates most of the thinking needed. Obvious if someone else has a better shot u should pass it, or if u r wide open u should shoot it if u in range...but less variables will show up when u think shot 1st and a shot that u can make
Love your videos mahn....This video made actually realize I need to work to on my movements....Because everytime I try a crossover, it doesnt feel right
How can I improve the movement and decision making aspect of my game? Are there any routines I should be following. Also, how can I improve my passing accuracy (I like it enough, but as a playmaker, I need to be able to make the cross court passes of screens like you talked about with Chris Paul)?
What I am doing everytime I play a pickup game is write down in my notes what I did well and what I need to work on. then i take it to the court and practice those skills or situations.
I need to become better at letting my instictnts takeover and not thinking about the move i am making and just use my instincts to apply in game reads and get better playing in real games get a better handles and jumper and being more confident lets get this chicken the grind continues
I need to work on my movement. I need to drop lower on my crossovers and I need a better internal rotation of my hips. Also I need to work on my overall scoring. Covid has made it difficult to work on the latter though.
Hi, I am also a basketball coach. You said that you use small sided games in your workouts. How much do you think you use CLA (constraints led approach) in your workouts?
Visualization is a major key for this man. I had a major free throw slump, going from 70-80 percent down to 40-50. I got out of it purely by visualizing being at the line before I went to bed, remembering how the ball is supposed to feel. Try it and you’ll see some big gains
Which one do YOU need to work on most?
Decision Making
Movement and decision making
Skill
By Any Means Basketball decision making
How do I work on the mental part
Corona is messing the "play with real defense up" and I hate it.
Who else has to workout on their own right now?
@Hoop Club Ye same I’m in Canada and I’m in highschool grade 9 so it’s hard for us to play just practising in backyard sometimes but we gotta hang in there
@Hoop Club me to but keep grinding and keep playing in the snow 😂got the exact same situation
I don’t have a court to play rn so I’m working on my athletic my ballhandling my formshooting and my mental game

Dude at 3:44 just killed it🖤.
FILTHY
Can you do a series of drills for movements (e.g. acceleration stance, being strong and balanced while in a low stance etc)
Check out his video on shiftiness
@@ktd1149 I've watched it twice
playing on a team where you feel like you could get more minutes makes it almost a 95% mental game
ong
Ik that feeling...
Looking forward to your takes on how psychology underpins it all, such a huge factor in athlete development 💎
4:17 I’m convinced this typo was put there on purpose to see if anyone paid attention to the screen
Love the intuition the game empowers players to develop.

Decision making, I have the skill and ability to move well I just have trouble applying it to games

I need to work on internal hip rotation, handle, and timing my feet with my handle
