Sergio Rodríguez i know its late, but it’s most likely the apple pencil. I’ve read that some of the pencils are defective. Check with apple. They’ll replace
The biggest thing I learned from this video is that you can use auto-shape on the eraser! I literally was like "Whaaat?!" out loud when you did that. I had no idea, but I'm definitely keeping that one for later.
this dude is underrated, literally just got my ipad and I was going to assume I sucked at digital art. Then bam, watched this and realized how not utilizing the tilt on the brush was really limiting the capacity of the brushes I was using. Thanks so much dude, i'll be sharing this video for everrrr beginner to procreate I meet :)
Same. Somehow I've used it for a few days now, and now realized this. /slaps head So glad I watched this video. I just did some test-sketches, and they are already 100x better.
I have gone back to drawing and sketching after a very..very long time neglecting it. As a kid up to high school, I doodled, sketch and draw. Largely self - taught. But life took over and it just fell on the wayside. Now I am just starting to learn digital art with procreate. And your video is very helpful and just added to my motivation to just do it again. This time I hope with more passion. Thank you very much !!! More power to you !!!
Same. I grew up drawing all throughout school cause class was so boring and once I was out of school I stopped. I used to love drawing though. It’s something you have to force until you’re in love with it again. It’s not easy. Drawing is very hard and technical.
This is really helpful, thank you. Can you point me to a video that explains how you used the eraser circle to clean up the edges of the sphere? I have tried to replicate that action but can’t seem to do it without nibbling around the edge of the sphere with the eraser brush which is fiddly.
i like the Derwent most. thanks for sharing the default brushes.... I hope to see more videos about the default features.. I'm a beginner to use procreate.
Thank you so much! I learned a lot. I'm still new to drawing and Procreate. After watching your video my absolute favorite is Peppermint. Even I can make shading look professional ;-) And this auto-shape on eraser is a game-changer!
Great video to use for practicing brush uses. How do you clean up those edges so easily? I see you create a circle with you eraser. When I do that I get a thin line.
Hi there. I make emotes for Twitch streamers using Procreate. They are tiny in size ( max size is 112px X 112px ). Do you have any suggestitons on canvas settings for when doing a drawing that would be good for shrinking down and not losing picture quality. I usually do it on a canvas of 3000 x 3000 in Procreate, then send it to my PC and resize it with Photoshop. Is there a better way. I'm still learning. Thank you.
@JRW You can also add a project and then add some light browns and pinks and smudge all over. When you're happy with the look save it to photos and import it as a background to draw over when you like. You can create loads of toned and textured backgrounds and stick them in a folder to save creating them every time you want one. Hope that helps 👍
@JRW I'm watching a tutorial at the moment but I end up spending ages drawing/painting instead of watching lol. It's easy to get entranced but I should be learning how to use this program better myself 😂
Just asking, but how do you get that sketchy feel? I tried changing the settings using tutorials, but it doesn’t seem to affect my apple pen. And how you can have pencil pressure too.
Thanks for this tutorial and demo. I draw traditionally with Grafwood pencils on Bristol board and was hoping to be able to use my IPad for very fine line , high detail Graphite like drawings in Procreate. I want to be able to print large scale pieces also. I am very new to digital drawing and have yet to find a pencil that doesn't break down. Your demo was very, very helpful. Could you suggest where I would find one or shuld I learn to make them myself(LOL x 50 ) on Procreate?
Can you set the brush settings back to the original settings? So when I experiment with the numbers and I don’t like the brush in the end, the original settings aren’t gone forever! Thanks for the nice video!
I don't believe the official default Procreate brushes will let you alter them, it makes you duplicate them first and then you can alter that duplicate. If you're making your own custom brushes, you have to set your own reset point, Procreate will not do it for you.
try going into Preferences (actions menu), then try pressing on Pen Pressure settings, then RESET. Then try pressing harder with your apple pencil on the canvas, see if that fixes your 6B pencil! :)
@@ghostpaper thanks for the tip! it was on RESET mode already and 6B is still very thin, but thank you anyways will use this Pen Pressure another time :)
What is your favourite Sketching brush in Procreate!? Let me know in the comments section! 👍
My tilt doesn't work, what should I do? Help
Sergio Rodríguez i know its late, but it’s most likely the apple pencil. I’ve read that some of the pencils are defective. Check with apple. They’ll replace

It made me stun for few seconds!!
Exactly

this just blew my mind.

Where were these low ratings published? Seems like with over 100,000 subscribers he’s pretty highly regarded
Underrated?? He is one of the biggest UA-camr to go to for procreate learner.

thank you a lot for helping me, apprechiate it, and my list for favourite sketching must be:
1. Peppermint
2. Derwent
3. soft pastel
Wonderful. Thank you. You didn’t say, which brush do you choose for the smudge and the eraser? Some artists use the same brush for all three.
I was wondering that too
Hi leo ! can you please share the best default brush for smudjing and erasing? it will be of great help
I was wonderwing which one used for smudge. I tried with pepermint but, I am not getting the same result.
It depends on what you’re smudging or erasing, for sure
This is really helpful, thank you. Can you point me to a video that explains how you used the eraser circle to clean up the edges of the sphere? I have tried to replicate that action but can’t seem to do it without nibbling around the edge of the sphere with the eraser brush which is fiddly.
Technical pencil is my go to sketching brush. Thank you sooooo much for sharing. Love you man.
i like the Derwent most.
thanks for sharing the default brushes.... I hope to see more videos about the default features.. I'm a beginner to use procreate.
The pastel and 6B are my favorite with peppermint next.
This video is very helpful. May I ask what the background texture for the canvas is called? Thank you!
I used to use 6B, but now I use peppermint more often. But hey, your video is great. I've been thinking to try them all.
What do brush do you have your smudge tool set on?
Thanks for the tips man! I just got Procreate and trying to learn how to sketch with it.
Please can you link any vids you may have about how to set up pressure sensitivity on brushes, I'm finding that part difficult, thank you in advance
Thank you so much! I learned a lot. I'm still new to drawing and Procreate. After watching your video my absolute favorite is Peppermint. Even I can make shading look professional ;-) And this auto-shape on eraser is a game-changer!

I don't have the Derwent Brush in this set. How do I get this brush?

How do you get the paper background effect
take a photo of a piece of paper

How come you seemed using regular pencil on Procrete?
Just started on procreate yesterday, this is very helpful, Thanks!
Can someone explain that nifty trick to erase just outside the line of the circle? Is it one finger on the tablet while using the erase tool?
I’m going to have to watch that part again and follow along. It was cool!
Was trying to figure that out as well!
Draw a circle and hold the pencil still, procreate will make it a perfect circle.
Can you smudge with finger? Does it work the same?
Like the watering transitions , do you make it by Procreate too?
how did u set the textured background for ur project. thanks in advance everybody 😄
Excellent! Loved it! I use mostly the 6B. Could you please do one video of these to light and shadows? Thanks
I’m all about Derwent
Your work is outstanding

Excellent class with useful information! Thank you!
So helpful! Too bad procreate pocket doesnt have these! 😭
can i ask why do you use the ipad conected? i have understand that is bad for the battery, am i wrong?
Just asking, but how do you get that sketchy feel? I tried changing the settings using tutorials, but it doesn’t seem to affect my apple pen. And how you can have pencil pressure too.
Thanks 🙏 for your great tutorials! 😉

Which case do you use here for your Apple Pencil?

Super helpful!
Thank you! Very helpful!
Thank you very much.
Which blending brush did you use ?
my 6B brush is a bit thin, it does not give the charcoal effect...
try going into Preferences (actions menu), then try pressing on Pen Pressure settings, then RESET. Then try pressing harder with your apple pencil on the canvas, see if that fixes your 6B pencil! :)

What is an HD Canvas used for in Procreate?
Thanks a lot!
i downloaded but i get only two brushes
@3:02 what is your smudge brush?
What your pencil called?
Question here. How did you get that drawing sound effect? its so nice!
I’m not completely sure but I think it’s a screen protector that feels like paper, I’ve heard another UA-cam use it and it had the same sound effect
Love your video very clean and straight forward. Subscribed!
Very nice. Ty
Informative stuff Leo 😊👍🏻
Great video
Thank you for this video, very helpful.

I feel the 4 people that disliked this video just suck! ... lol
Can’t add them
I don’t have a six b pencil on mine
What pencil are you drawing with?
Alex Slobodkin Apple Pencil generation 2
It was a lovely video. The auto-shape technique you used was super interesting, especially in conjuction with the eraser :)
Can you pleas draw a Disney character
What if you don’t have an Apple Pencil
💐🖤💐
Amazing thanks alot
