When I saw it I initially thought it was just there as a template, like a guide to test different styles to see what general shapes the bride likes and then they would design a proper dress based off that. When they said they were done and she actually bought the dress like that there and then I was shocked.

I am very sentimental. You can tell just the fabric itself without the add-ons are precious. And the additional touches and customizations just add that extra bit of sentiment, something you would like to hand down for generations. If I could afford Heidi, I would. Imagine trying to find that "perfect" dress when you're an "Ashley" and have already been in all those eye-catching, picture-perfect dresses. Everybody deserves their dream dress and both brides looked amazing 😍😍
I like the build-a-bride concept, and I thought she looked good in almost all of the variations - which happens because the initial silhouette was nice on her to begin with. She seemed like a really nice girl too.
I actually thought she looked best in the build-a-bride dress without any of the add-ons. If I were to add anything, it would be the first lace overlay with the sweetheart neckline.
for less than 100 Danielle could have get a simple dress like that online and add whatever she wants, prices in that store are ridiculous for what they get at the end
Well, defending the designer - and I've never been her fan- the bride by design dress was very well made and the fabrics were quite expensive. I also think that the gown she made for Ms. Tennessee was on point, reflected her personality and suited the venue.
Ashley’s dress didn’t fit properly, the top was too big & gapped, the back should’ve been a V shape, just a mush mash of styles, it looked like it was made by amateurs. She could’ve bought an amazing dress for a cheaper price at an up market bridal store!

Well to be truthful these brides are beautiful with great figures - almost too perfect. They would look good in anything. I think the REAL talent is Carolyn. Heidi gets all the money and credit but really it is Carolyn who makes the dream happen. Adding fabric to the train and cuting the bodice and the appliques is real talent.
These days you can get a beautiful simple white wedding dress off the Internet for only a couple hundred dollars. No need for this build a bride nonsense. It's not a bad idea perse, but I honestly think it isn't necessary. There is every kind of wedding dress you could imagine out there somewhere in the world already. And those custom made dresses or build a bride gowns seem much more expensive than dresses of similar fit and quality at other stores.
The problem with the build a bride is for the price you could get a better dress with more than a little going on.

Kleinfeld would have gave her a much better dress for her budget.
so basically the seamstress does all the work and likely makes less cash haha

All of the lace is very expensive for what it is. A literal sheet of lace... she could get a way better dress with a bit more going on.
