First canes is dry because it's real chicken I'm sorry laynes uses chemicals to make the chicken to stay moist ant canes u have to have to eat it fresh
This is all up to personal opinion. But I just like Layne's better because it has that local feeling to it that Cane's doesn't have. Plus I'm a diehard lover of putting salt and pepper on pretty much anything so of course I'll like Layne's sauce better. I suggest doing a bigger "random" sample instead of leaving the decision to 5 Aggies.
Wow what a huge sample size. This really is a true representation. lol. If they wanted to make it more realistic just set a table up outside the msc and have people taste it on the way to class randomly. Could easily get 50-100 people in half an hour or less.
ONE LOVE! Hell yeah, Raising Cane's! I know Cane's and it doesn't sound like your had real Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. But, Layne's is a local place and that's all you have known.
I don't care about the history I love Canes, and I've never had Layne's. How the fuck are you a Raising Canes Lover then you eat the chicken with a blind fold on, and suddenly it taste bad? Someones lying in this equation.
Narks- it's Texas Canes, back before canes came to college station in Texas someone went to canes at the LSU vs TX football game and thought it was a cool idea to make fried chicken and got the inspiration to make their own called Laynes after the guy name, Personally I believe laynes (from my experience last month) is more for people who doesn't like "fake fast food" and bland flavors, it has a peppery sauce full of flavor Canes is more for that person that eats fast food all the time and is just a "one time thing", laynes is homecooked TO ORDER and it's easier to just buy 2 meals and keep in the refrigerator than canes because again it's fast food and something to eat just for that day If you want to go to lanes there is 2 in college station, TX and one is across from ATM college with a canes right beside it, I recommend trying both but laynes has that "I'm not fast food and fat and bland" going on
For everyone saying that Cane's copied off of Layne's, especially all of you with the "do your research" mantra... the ONLY evidence of this that I can find, is people spouting it off to say Layne's is better, and many follow with the now hilarious "do your research". Considering the origins for Cane's, it's simply not possible for it to be a copy. (A business plan written for a class at LSU that was then taken to possible investors, turned down, then the original partners went to work in refineries and in Alaska in order to earn and save enough money to be able to secure a small business loan for the last of what was needed, in order to open the restaurant from the business plan... And they did ALL of this in less than 18 months supposedly? Seeing as Layne's opened in 1994 and Cane's in August of 96.) It's literally a coincidence, people. Deal with it.
FYI to all these LSU clowns. Laynes opened in 1994 the owner sold his recipe to the guy that started Canes. He opened Canes August 26th, 1996. There is only ONE Laynes and its in College Station. So stop acting like you know Canes is better than Laynes when you don't even know that there is only ONE and that your precious Canes came from Laynes lol sorry you all lose.
Actually, according to what I've read, Laynes was founded in 1994. By that time, Todd Graves was already working on a fishing boat in Alaska to earn and save the money needed to open the chicken fingers restaurant he'd been wanting to start with his friend. They opened just off of LSU's campus in 1996. It's a random coincidence. Though, let's be honest, Zaxby's was founded in 1990 in Georgia... if anyone has any chance at a claim for someone "stealing" a concept, it's more likely them. To add, I've never had Layne's, but I can tell you that Cane's is 100% real chicken and I've also NEVER had dry chicken from Cane's. NEVER. (Yes, I did start going to the original location not long after it opened a few blocks away from my high school. Cane's is One Love... and that's One Love that I have deeply engrained in me!)
Kelly S: Also the story is true about the guy going to lsu but he was taking a great idea into his own SINCE Texas didn't have a Laynes atm so there is really no copying if he really didn't know it was a thing, he just took in innovation to make his own and laynes was his name
"They're very close, but A was terrible." Really good testers you've got.
Firstly, its Raising Canes. It's named after the founders dog. Secondly, I've eaten at Canes for years, and I've never dry chicken. Ever.
Same idk what these people are talking about.
If Cane's sold sauce individually and that would solve the problem, just bring the bottle over to Layne's!
I really enjoyed that! I thought some of the opinions not matching with actual results were pretty amusing too. Great job Lindsay!
and thats because laynes is a one restaurant thing, and canes is a chain.
@justkeela76 How can anyone say that word, dry, when talking about Cane's?
They made the people choose laynes.... This is so incorrect
Agreed. To have 5 Aggies [4 who apparently don't like pepper] represent the entire college seems quite naive in their part.
This isn't biased at all.
never even hear of laynes. and why did they change the chicken bowls almost everytime.
what's laynes?
i work there, and our chicken shouldn't be dry
First canes is dry because it's real chicken I'm sorry laynes uses chemicals to make the chicken to stay moist ant canes u have to have to eat it fresh
they need to redo that chicken tast test. CANES ALL THE WAY
This is all up to personal opinion. But I just like Layne's better because it has that local feeling to it that Cane's doesn't have. Yes u can
Shut the hell up little girl
Canes is NOT dry...
ONE LOVE! Hell yeah, Raising Cane's! I know Cane's and it doesn't sound like your had real Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. But, Layne's is a local place and that's all you have known.
i buy cane's chicken and use laynes sauce and laynes frys
I don't care about the history I love Canes, and I've never had Layne's.
How the fuck are you a Raising Canes Lover then you eat the chicken with a blind fold on, and suddenly it taste bad? Someones lying in this equation.
August 26th 1996. Check and mate. Canes wouldn't even have happened if it wasn't for Laynes go look it up.
C-stat bruh laynes for life 👍
Hi alex how are you today? Would you like to sacrifice a goat today?
what the fuck is Layne's

And*
CANE'S!
Nice try at an advertisement Layne's!
You guys forget that Cane's copied everything FROM layne's... I Love absolutely both but laynes does beat canes No joke.
neither use farm raised chicken. so they both fail. ;(
i did that and the chicken was cold
Ummm Canes opened their doors I'm Louisiana not college station. #JustSaying
Layne's chicken is made out of styrofoam and cornsyrup. Canes> Laynes
its dumb the people choose canes more they just put the lanes name by it
No reveal to the students? Disappointing.
Raisiing Canes Chcken is not dry you guys need to stop!

oh ok.. traditional places are always better! but canes sauce is great!
Canes is amazing!!
FYI to all these LSU clowns. Laynes opened in 1994 the owner sold his recipe to the guy that started Canes. He opened Canes August 26th, 1996. There is only ONE Laynes and its in College Station. Canes is not all of dat bad stuff laynes or shit suckz and they are mixing it up with a and b thing
No it hasn't do some research
Laynes all day. First time I had Canes it was absolute ass.
TypicallyUnique like your face?
Let me guess you let it sit in the Styrofoam for 20 minutes on the way home?
This has to be fake
Canes should sued for trying to copy laynes. Laynes was started way before canes.

Kelly S-
Keep in mind every canes location is different, you. Know because of staff
Kelly S:
Also the story is true about the guy going to lsu but he was taking a great idea into his own SINCE Texas didn't have a Laynes atm so there is really no copying if he really didn't know it was a thing, he just took in innovation to make his own and laynes was his name
This is a horribly designed experiment
This is so wrong, canes is the best
@csimo13 Baton Rouge got best Popeyes eva
the cane's is the bast in the world not becouse I work there.
Canes came from Laynes. Do some research you have no idea how good Laynes is cause no one outside of college station has one lol smh lsu people
Firstly, its Raising Canes. It's named after the founders dog. Secondly, I've eaten at Canes for years, and I've never dry chicken. Ever.
