So often, on social media and in our email, we see folks who are new to our sport asking how to find a mentor in dog shows… Unfortunately there is ‘no app for that’ but there ARE several ways you can get support from more experienced dog show enthusiasts when you are first starting out or starting in a new breed. Here are some ideas of how you can find yourself a dog show mentor.

No, you're not too old. 5 weeks ago I met a breeder who was showing her own dogs. She was 85! She was mentoring a lady in her 70's. You're not too old at all. 😊

I am an owner of two golden, they are not near show dog, but that doesn’t change for me because it is not why I have bought them in the first place. But I love watching your videos even if I am not planning on showing dog. You give good advise, you explain very well, all your video are very interesting. I have a question, my golden have wavy fur on there back, is it possible to try to straighten it.
I would love to see what you would do, if you where to groom them, I am sure they would come out beautiful.

For your Golden, make sure you are getting the coat completely dry - it all starts there for the coat to be straight.
